Wie fast überall beginnt auch in der Entwicklung eines Stuhldesigns alles mit einer Idee. Was ist hier die Inspiration für den Designer? Bei Martin Ballendat sind es offensichtlich Ergonomie und Komfort. Dieser Bürostuhl ist ein perfektes Beispiel dafür, wie sich erstklassiges Design mit Funktionalität verbinden lässt. As it is with most things in the world, chair design begins with an idea. What can become a designer’s inspiration? For Mar-tin Ballendat it was obviously ergonomics and comfort. The armchair is a perfect example of how top-grade design can be combined with functionality. With the S-MOVE mechanism it offers its user bio-dynamic sitting and top comfort.

But simplicity can only be achieved through an intelligent and creative balance of technical, practical and artistic factors.

Gutes Design muss einfach sein.

Comme bien souvent, la conception d`un siège débute par une idée. Quelle peut être la source d’inspiration pour un concep-teur ? L’ergonomie et le confort étaient probablement à la source de l’inspiration de Martin Ballendat. Ce fauteuil est un exemple parfait d’un design inspiré et fonctionnel. Le mécanisme S-MOVE garan-tit une assise biodynamique et confortable.

Mais on ne peut atteindre la simplicité qu à travers un équilibre intelligent et créatif entre les facteurs techniques, pratiques et artistiques.

Martin Ballendat is an internationally successful designer for 25 years. Born in Bochum in 1958 he stud-ied Design at the Folkwang-schule in Essen. Since 1995 he runs his own design stu-dio in Upper Austria. Mar-tin Ballendat is also working as lecturer and visiting pro-fessor at the University of Applied Sciences in the field of design in Graz and Salz-burg. He achieved more than 100 design prizes and other awards, among them 17 × Red Dot, 2 × Best of the Best, IF-Award , Best of Neo-con Chicago Gold and Sil-ver, Good Design Award Athenaeum, Best of the Best Interieur-Innovations-Award and many other prizes in Belgium, Netherlands, Japan, China, Hungary, Can-ada and many more places around the world.

Martin Ballendat ist bereits seit 25 Jahren als Designer international erfolgreich. Der 1958 in Bochum gebo-rene Ballendat studierte Design an der Folkwang-schule in Essen. Seit 1995 führt er sein eigenes Design-studio in Oberösterreich.Ballendat ist zudem als Dozent und Gastprofessor im Bereich Design an den Fachhochschulen Graz und Salzburg tätig. Er konnte in seiner Karriere bereits mehr als 100 Designpreise und andere Auszeichnungen gewinnen, darunter 17 mal Red Dot, 2 mal Best of the Best, IF-Award, Best of Neocon Chicago Gold und Silber, Good Design Award Athenaeum, Best of the Best Interieur-Innovations- Award sowie zahlreiche weitere Preise in Belgien, den Niederlanden, Japan, China, Ungarn, Kanada und an vielen anderen Orten der Welt.

Martin Ballendat est un concepteur reconnu depuis plus de 25 ans. Né en 1958, il a étudié à Folkwangschule – Essen. Depuis 1995 il a son atelier de design en Haute-Autriche et enseigne aux universités de Graz et de Salzbourg. Il a été lauréat de plus de 100 prix et distinc-tions. Parmis eux : 17 prix Red Dot, 2 titres de Best of the Best, l’IF-Award, le Best of Neocon Chicago Gold and Silver, le Good Design Award Athenaeum, le Best of the Best Interieur-Innovations-Award et beaucoup d’autres encore.

Bei der Auswahl meiner Büromöbel denke ich immer daran, dass mein Büro mein Markenzeichen ist. Potentielle Kunden beurteilen mich als Architektin danach, wie der Platz aussieht, an dem ich arbeite. Deshalb ist mir Design besonders wichtig. Die Produkte, mit denen ich mich umgebe, müssen meinem Geschmack entsprechen.

Der Stuhl 4ME überzeugt mit einem ganz einmaligen Design: jedes Detail ist sorg-fältig durchdacht und der ganze Stuhl ist in seiner Gesamtheit eine perfekte Kom-position. Die ungewöhnliche Rückenlehne aus strapazierfähigem Kunststoff erregte sofort meine Aufmerksamkeit. Das ist das Markenzeichen dieses Bürostuhls – meines Bürostuhls.

When choosing my office furniture I always keep in mind that my office is my trademark feature. My potential clients will judge me as an architect by looking at the place where I work. This is why I pay special attention to design. Products I surround myself with must emphasize my taste. The 4ME chair has a unique design: every detail is carefully refined and the whole piece has perfect composition. My attention has been drawn to the unusual backrest made from very durable plastic. It is the hallmark of this armchair, my armchair.

Avant de choisir l’ameublement de mon bureau, je garde toujours à l’esprit qu’il devra être à mon image, ce sera le reflet de ma personnalité. En entrant dans mon espace de travail, mes visiteurs comme les clients potentiels jugent de mes compétences d'architecte. Voilà pourquoi j’accorde une attention toute particulière au design. Les produit qui m`entourent doivent témoigner de mon goût et de mon univers.

Le fauteuil 4ME est unique. Le moindre détail a été soigneusement pensé. Mon attention a été particulièrement attirée par le dossier de forme inhabituelle, robuste, fabriqué en nylon résistant. Il constitue le trait distinctif de ce fauteuil, de mon fauteuil.

My office reflects me – good design matters!

4ME’s characteristic feature is its unique backrest. The shape of backrest fastening is not only about interesting design – it is also an impor-tant functional element. The inner structure of the back-rest makes it amazingly flex-ible so it follows every move of its user. The four-point support ensures even distri-bution of force when lean-ing back and the specially designed spherical handles provide additional shock-absorption as the backrest moves.

Die charakteristische Eigen-schaft des 4ME-Stuhls ist seine einzigartige Rücken-lehne. Bei der Form der Befestigungselemente wurde jedoch nicht nur auf interes-santes Design Wert gelegt, sondern auch auf Funktion. Die innere Struktur der Rückenlehne ermöglicht eine nie da gewesene Flexibilität, die einfach jede Bewegung mitmacht. Die spezielle 4-Punkt-Unterstützung sorgt für eine gleichmäßige Kräfteverteilung beim Zurücklehnen und die spezi-ell geformten, kugelförmigen Befestigungselemente brin-gen zusätzliche Federung bei jeder Bewegung der Rückenlehne.

Le dossier est une carac-téristique unique de 4ME. La forme de la fixation du dossier n est pas seulement un design intéressant mais aussi un important élément fonctionnel. La construction interne fait qu`il est très élastique et suit chaque mouvement de l’utilisateur. Les quatre points d’appui assurent une excellente répartition du poids de l’utilisateur et les dispositifs anti-bascule d’une forme sphérique spécialement conçue procurent le meilleur amortissement du dossier en mouvement.

Bei meiner Arbeit baue ich auf meine Erfahrung und verlasse mich auf bewährte Lösungen. Zugleich bin ich aber immer auf der Suche nach Neuem, Unkonventionellem und Überraschendem. Ich achte darauf, was eingekauft wird, und daher ist mir auch jedes kleine Detail wichtig. Ich arbeite professionell und erwarte das Gleiche auch von anderen.

Je fonde mon travail sur mon expérience et des solutions éprouvées, en recherchant en même temps des solutions nouvelles, non conventionnelles et surprenantes. J’aime bien avoir le sentiment de garder tout sous contrôle – pour cette raison je fais attention aux moindres détails. Je suis un profes-sionnel et j’attends des autres le même professionnalisme.

The S-MOVE mobility sys-tem is an innovative struc-ture designed to provide user with the ability to sit dynamically. Importantly, in combination with the SELF mechanism it is main-tenance-free as they auto-matically adjust seat and backrest moves to user’s weight. The S-MOVE mech-anism ensures biodynami-cal sitting. It allows the body to move in three dimensions and smoothly adjusts to nat-ural moves of the human body. Activity prompted by this mechanism stimulates involuntary function of the muscular system activating muscle groups responsible for upright body position.

Bei dem S-MOVE-System han-delt es sich um eine innovative Technik , die dem Nutzer eine gewisse Dynamik in der Sitz-position ermöglicht. Zusätzlich wird diese Technologie noch mit der SELF-Mechanik ergänzt. Beide Technologien zusammen stimmen die Bewe-gungen von Sitzfläche und Rückenlehne ganz automatisch auf das Gewicht des Nutzers ab. Die S-MOVE-Mechanik ermöglicht eine biodynami-sche Sitzposition. Der Nutzer kann sich dreidimensional frei bewegen und der Stuhl passt sich dabei ganz problemlos allen natürlichen Bewegungen an. Dieses innovative System fördert bestimmte Bewegungen sowie eine unbewusste Mus-keltätigkeit und aktiviert dabei gezielt die Muskelgruppen, die für eine aufrechte Körperhal-tung zuständig sind.

S-MOVE - le mécanisme breveté et la conception innovante permettent à l’utilisateur de s’asseoir de manière dynamique. Ce mécanisme, en combinai-son avec le mécanisme SELF, ajuste automatiquement les mouvements de dossier et d’assise en fonction du poids de l’utilisateur. Le mécanisme S-MOVE garantit une assise biodynamique. Il s’adapte aux mouvementes naturels en trois dimensions du corps humain. L’activité générée par ce mécanisme stimule inconsciemment l’action des muscles notam-ment ceux responsables de la position correcte du corps.

Ich beginne gerade damit, meine Karriere aufzubauen: Mein Kopf ist voller Träume und Ideen und ich glaube an meinen Erfolg. Aber ich kann es mir nicht leisten, schlechte Entscheidungen zu treffen, daher treffe ich jede Kaufentscheidung mit größter Sorgfalt.

Ich bin immer auf der Suche nach funktionalen Lösungen, aber ich mag auch schönes Design, das meine Persön-lichkeit unterstreicht. Ich verwende viel Energie auf meine täglichen Aufgaben und Pflichten, aber ich weiß dabei auch ein komfortables Arbeitsumfeld zu schätzen. Daher habe ich mich für den 4ME-Bürostuhl entschieden: ein Stuhl der komfortabel und modern zugleich ist.

Armrests dedicated to 4ME are available as adjustable models (2-D and 4-D) and a fixed model. All the mod-els can be matched up to the selected backrest handle plastic colour scheme. For greater comfort of the user 4ME is fitted with height-adjustable backrest. Addi-tional equipment for version with synchronous mecha-nism: seat depth adjustment and negative seat inclina-tion 2°. Swivel models of the 4ME product line have spe-cial RING castors dedicated to them.

Der 4ME-Bürostuhl hat optional verstellbare Armlehnen (2-D und 4-D) oder feste Armlehnen. Alle Armlehnen sind in den Farben der Rückenlehnen-befestigung verfügbar. Für noch mehr Komfort hat 4ME eine höhenver-stellbare Rückenlehne. Ausstattung für Version mit Synchronmechanik: Sitztie-fenverstellung und negative Sitzneigung. Die Modelle der 4ME-Produktreihe verfügen über speziell entwickelte Ring-Rollen (als Option).

Les accotoirs de 4ME peuvent être fixes ou réglables (ces derniers en deux versions, 2-D ou 4-D). Ils sont disponibles dans plusieurs finitions. Pour un plus grand confort de l’utilisateur, 4ME est fourni avec un dossier réglable en hauteur. Pour la version avec mécanisme synchrone, le réglage en profondeur de l’assise et une assise négative sont proposés en option. Les sièges de travail 4ME sont équipés de nos roulettes spéciales « RING », uniquement disponibles sur cette gamme de sièges.
