EEBus Der EEBus ist im Rahmen des Förderprogramms E-Energy (Förderung durch BMWi und BMU) entwickelt worden. Der EEBus hat den Austausch von Anwendungen und Diensten zwischen Energieversorgern und Haushalten zur Erhöhung von Komfort und Effizienz zum Ziel. Dies soll unter Nutzung bestehender Kommunikationsstandards und -normen erreicht werden.

Click – Connected Living Innovation Component Kit Das Innovationszentrum Connected Living hat gemeinsam mit dem DAI-Labor der TU Berlin eine Software-Plattform für ein offenes interoperables Smart-Home-System entwickelt. Es handelt sich um einen technologischen Baukasten für unterschiedliche Heimvernetzungsszenarien, der Komponenten für eine vollständige Smart-Home-Lösung bereithält.

CORBA – Common Object Request Broker Architecture Im Oktober 1991 wurde die Version 1.0 der CORBA-Spezifikation durch die Object Management Group (OMG) verabschiedet. Das Ziel von CORBA ist eine einfachere Implementierung von verteilten Anwendungen in heterogenen Umgebungen.

DPWS – Devices Profile for Web Services Das Devices Profile for Web Services (DPWS) ist eine ursprünglich von Microsoft entwickelte Spezifikation, die auf den Einsatz von Web-Diensten in Kombination mit Geräten abzielt, die nur über geringe Ressourcen verfügen. Die Web-Service-Spezifikation WS wurde erweitert, damit solche meist eingebetteten Systeme untereinander kommunizieren und sich beim Hinzufügen oder Entfernen selbstständig miteinander verbinden und voneinander trennen können.

HGI – Home Gateway Initiative Die HGI wurde 2004 gegründet und hat die Beschreibung der Architektur für digitale Heimanwendungen zum Schwerpunkt. Sowohl Hardware als auch Software werden als zu standardisierende Bausteine zur Verbindung von Anwendern und Diensten betrachtet.

MHP – Multimedia Home Plattform Die MHP wurde im Rahmen des europäischen DVB-Projekts als Spezifikation geschaffen, um interaktive Inhalte über die Infrastrukturen des digitalen Fernsehens zu übertragen und anzuzeigen. Die erste Version wurde im Jahr 2000 verabschiedet.

MIDP – Mobile Information Device Profile MIDP ist die Spezifikation eines Profils der Java Micro Edition (Java ME). Es basiert auf der Connected Limited Device Configuration (CLDC), die eine Menge von systemnahen Funktionen zur Verfügung stellt. MIDP wurde innerhalb des Java Community Process entwickelt und ist seit April 2001 verfügbar.

M2M – Machine-to-Machine Machine-to-Machine ist eine neu entwickelte ETSI-Spezifikation und steht für den automatisierten Informationsaustausch zwischen Maschinen. Er beschreibt allgemein nutzbare M2M-Funktionen wie „Security“, „Datatransmission“, „Bootstrapping“ sowie eine Schnittstelle zur Anwendungsprogrammierung (API) für Dienste.

OSGI – Open Services Gateway Initiative Eine häufig eingesetzte Middleware-Spezifikation wurde von der OSGi-Alliance entwickelt. Entsprechende Middleware-Frameworks werden als OSGi-Plattform bezeichnet und sind kommerziell, aber auch als Open Source Freeware verfügbar. HGI und OSGI arbeiten gemeinsam an einer Standardisierung.

SOA – Service orientierte Architektur In der SOA werden Funktionseinheiten, sog. Dienste, definiert, deren Schnittstellen mittels entsprechender Techniken, wie z. B. im Fall von Web-Diensten, mit der Web Service Description Language (WSDL) beschrieben werden können. Obwohl das SOA-Paradigma nicht an darunterliegende Techniken gebunden ist, wird üblicherweise XML für die Beschreibung der Dienste verwendet.

URC – Universal Remote Console URC ist durch die Normenreihe ISO/IEC 24752 international standardisiert. Die Spezifikation definiert ein Framework, das auf existierender Technologie und Spezifikationen wie UPnP oder Java-Jini aufbaut, und bietet neben der reinen Fernbedienungsfunktionalität zudem die Möglichkeit, alternativeNutzungsschnittstellen festzulegen.
