We think it’s great that you’re going to try to read Bible stories in English.You’ll find that it’s not as hard as you might think!

You already know lots of English words from school, and new or difficult words are translated for you right next to the story. If you see one of these words later on and don’t remember what it means, you can look it up in the vocabulary list at the end of the book: in alphabetical order, of course. This way, you can read the stories successfully and improve your English – and have fun doing it, too.

There are more good reasons to read Bible stories in English. There are Christians all over the world, and you will be able to talk with lots of them about God and Jesus if you know the words in English. And we’re sure you already know lots of Christian songs in English. In this book, you can find a lot of those same words and some of the stories that you’ve been singing about.

The Bible says that one day, people from all nations will praise God in all languages. We hope you will be able to do this both in German and in English!

wir finden es super, dass du dich traust, bib lische Geschichten in englischer Spra­che zu lesen!Du wirst merken: Es ist gar nicht so schwer!

Viele englische Wörter kennst du bereits aus der Schule. Unbekannte oder schwe­re Wörter sind zum Glück am Rande der Geschichte übersetzt. Solltest du solch ein Wort später wieder lesen und nicht mehr wissen, was es bedeutet, kannst du es hin­ten in der Wörterliste finden: alphabetisch geordnet, natürlich! So kannst du mit Er­folg und Spaß lesen und deine Englisch­kenntnisse erweitern. Es gibt aber noch mehr gute Gründe, bib­lische Geschichten in englischer Sprache zu lesen und zu verstehen: Überall auf der Welt kannst du Christen treffen. Wenn du dich mit ihnen über den Glauben an Gott und Jesus unterhalten möchtest, klappt das oft in der englischen Sprache. Bestimmt singst du auch viele christliche Lieder in Englisch. In diesem Buch kannst du viele der verwendeten Wörter und eini­ge der dazugehörigen Geschichten finden.

In der Bibel wird beschrieben, dass am Ende der Zeit Menschen aus allen Völkern und mit allen Sprachen Gott loben werden. Dass dir dies in deutscher und englischer Sprache gelingt, wünschen wir dir von Herzen!

In the beginning, God created heaven and earth. The earth was dark and had no form.God said, “Let there be light!” And there was light. The light was good. God called the light“day” and the darkness “night.” That evening and morning were the first day.God said, “Separate the waters!” There was water above, and there was water below. Die Schöpfung Am Anfang schuf Gott Himmel und Erde. Zuerst war die Erde wüst, leer und dunkel.Gott schuf das Licht. Es wurde hell. Der erste Tag begann.
