Projektbeschreibung 58 Jugendliche aus 5 Nationen (CZ, F, PL, SK und DE) haben sich 7 Tage lang mit Politik in „Europa“ und der Europäischen Union auseinandergesetzt. Der Zugang: Kunst und kreatives Schaffen. pARTizipation war und ist ein Modellprojekt, das die Brücke zwischen Kunst und Politik schlägt und dabei eine neue Bildsprache entwickelt hat. Das Projekt ist pARTizipation jenseits von Podiumsdiskussionen und formalen Bildungsstruk-turen.

ZielJugendliche haben die aktive Konfrontation mit der europäischen Dimension gesucht. Kreative Prozesse ha-ben aus „Teilnehmenden“ „Teilgebende“ gemacht. In mul-tinationalen Workshops wurden gemeinsame Kunstpro-jekte erarbeitet. In den Prozessen und Ergebnissen der Workshops spiegelt sich die interkulturelle Dimension und eine kritischen Auseinandersetzung mit Europa und der Europäischen Union wider. Es entstanden kreative Freiräume für den europäischen Ideenaustausch. Die Jugendlichen haben sich in diesen Freiräumen mit rele-vanten Fragestellungen auseinandergesetzt und sich in politischen, sozialen und kulturellen Diskursen verortet.

ProjektgestaltungIn Kooperation mit der Jugendkunstschule Altenkirchen hat die europäische Jugendbildung „think europe“ des Europahauses Marienberg das Projekt „pARTizipa-tion“ konzipiert und realisiert. Die Umsetzung hat zu gleichen Teilen im Europahaus Marienberg und in der Jugendkunstschule in Altenkirchen stattgefunden. Der Exkursionstag fand in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem „CityLeaks“ Urban Art Festival in Köln statt.

„I never before met people from Slovakia, Czech Republic or Poland. Now I have an idea about them and their ways of life and work. If we want to find out what European Identity is about, we have to get to know each other. That happened throughout this project [...] it was great that I didn‘t just sit there and had to concentrate on some speech... I got to do my thinking with my hands. We created something European together.“

„Vom Zeitpunkt, an dem ich von dem geplanten Projekt „pARTizipati-on“ erfahren habe, an, hatte ich große Lust, daran mitzuwirken. Dass meine Erwartungen im Endeffekt sogar noch übertroffen wurden, hätte ich mir nie träumen lassen. Es war wirklich eine tolle Erfahrung, mit einer Gruppe motivierter Jugendlicher zusammenzuarbeiten und am Ende eine Ausstellung unserer Arbeiten gemeinsam auf die Beine zu stellen. Neben dem großen Maß an Spaß, den mit Sicherheit jeder von uns hatte, war es sehr interessant, in künstlerischem Neuland frische Luft zu schnuppern. Ich persönlich hatte zuvor noch nie mit den Techniken des Graffiti, des Mosaiks und des Schweißens gear-beitet und war beeindruckt von dem, was daraus entstehen kann und nach dieser Woche auch entstanden ist. Die gemeinsamen Tage mit

Jugendlichen aus kulturell sehr unterschiedlichen Regionen Europas haben mir außerdem gezeigt, dass eine Zukunft der EU durchaus möglich ist und es Menschen gibt, die einen nicht daran zweifeln lassen, dass Europa nicht an seinen Schulden zerbricht, sondern wir durch unsere Vielfalt wachsen und zusammen ein stabiles Europa aufbauen können!“

4 months ago I decided to change the way I live. I didn‘t like people, neither being with them, nor talking to them. I realized I loved nothing. The project changed this. I gained confidence being in a group with so many young and funny people. So thanks for the opportunity and for helping to change the way I lived. I discovered my very own „me“.

„Wir konnten durch eine Vielfalt an künstlerischen Möglichkeiten und - zumindest für mich - vollkommen neuen Methoden (darunter die Arbeit mit Metall, Graffiti und Mosaiksteinen) unsere Ideen zum Eu-ropagedanken darstellen und uns auf eine andere Art und Weise mit diesem Thema auseinandersetzen. Das ganze Projekt war allgemein sehr abwechslungsreich und durch diese Vielseitigkeit wurde es nie langweilig. Außerdem fand ich es sehr schön, mit Jugendlichen aus so vielen verschiedenen europäischen Ländern zusammenzuarbeiten. Wir konnten die Kultur anderer Nationen besser kennenlernen und so einen persönlichen Bezug zu den jeweiligen Ländern herstellen. Es wurden Vorurteile widerlegt und beseitigt, und das Projekt half dabei, mehr gegenseitige Akzeptanz zu schaffen und soziales Verhalten zu fördern. Vielleicht halten ein paar internationale Freundschaften sogar noch weit über das Ende des des Seminars hinaus.“

What is CityLeaks?In September 2013 CityLeaks Urban Art Festival’s second edition turns Cologne into a large stage for contemporary urban art. Already in 2011 CityLeaks pioneered in realizing a whole lot of creative interventions within the Cologne public space. With the help of more than 25 international and national artists artrmx e.V. and Colorrevo-lution e.V. laid the foundation to a large outdoor gallery.Driven by the motivation to reclaim space for artistic creation within the public realm as well as to make it accessible for everyone, the biennial festival goes into its second season from 2nd to 22nd Sep-tember.By way of a curation transcending both media and genre, City-Leaks Festival 2013 features an exceptionally vast array of artistic positions, genres, and styles. More than 30 representatives of the fine, performing, and applied arts are invited to Cologne this year in order to make use of the city space as their canvas or stage as well as to extended the existent outdoor gallery by creating new, exciting artworks within the entire urban area of Cologne.Under the title I’m Still Here – Being Public Indoors the subject of urbanity is negotiated on multiple levels in a single, central indoor exhibition in Ehrenfeld. Apart from numerous film screenings, guided tours, music events, and a symposium, this year’s CityLeaks communications and event programme also features a whole vari-ety of opportunities for interaction just as much as artist talks and urban art workshops.With both their most diverse programme and unconventional exhi-bition concepts, several Cologne galleries and off-locations crucially contribute to CityLeaks 2013. Das Projekt „pARTizipation“ hat mir sehr viel Spaß gemacht. Es war interessant, Europa und die EU als politische Themen mit dem künstlerischen Aspekt zu kombinieren.

Wir haben Dinge gesehen, die für mich völlig neu waren. Die Erlebnisse werde ich noch eine ganze Weile verarbeiten müssen, um klar zu kriegen, was in der Woche alles passiert ist. WAHNSINN!“

„At the beginning I was overwhelmed with all the different notions and impressions. It took me two days to really find my own entrance into the project. After that, I really made many enriching, sometimes challenging experiences. In the evenings I had to take time for myself,

because the project got so intense. My diary really helped me to filter the many emotions that I had. In the end I must say that this was probably the most exhausting week of my life. The project consumed and enriched me at the same time.“
