The FIFA World Football Museum is the new home of football history. Located in the heart of Zurich right next to Enge train station, it’s easy to reach on public transport. The museum opened in 2016 and quickly became a popular destination for football and sports fans. With 3,000 m2 of exhibitions, over 1,000 items of exclusive memorabilia and 500 videos on 60 screens, the museum offers a unique multimedia and interactive journey through the history of international football. But not just the stars get a chance to shine – fascinating images and stories demonstrate how the world’s most popular ball sport excites, influen ces and inspires people every day, all over the world. Travel through four linguistic regions, over five Alpine passes and visit numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites on the Grand Tour of Switzerland. The tour winds its way through the entire country and boasts an array of natural and cultural highlights.In the Zurich region, the Grand Tour follows a breathtaking route from Rapperswil via Zurich to the Rhine Falls, treating travelers to a host of regional, cultural and culinary attractions along the way. Notable features on the Zurich leg include the towns of Rapperswil, Zurich and Winterthur, the beautiful journey along Lake Zurich and the Rhine Falls – Europe’s largest waterfall. This once-in-a-lifetime road trip can also be completed in an electric car.

It is recommended to travel in summer between April and October. The Grand Tour is marked with official signage and should be com-pleted in a clockwise direction. While on the Grand Tour, you can also join the guided tours “Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein” (p.31) and “Bern – Swiss Capital & Countryside Tour” (p.33).
