Antike Rahmen und moderne KunstDas Zusammenspiel von antiken Rahmen und moderner Kunst ist kein Gegensatz, sondern sorgt fr ein besonderes Spannungsverhltnis.

Nicht erst seit Picasso, der erwiesenermaen ein Faible fr antike Rahmen hatte, ist bekannt, dass es durchaus kein Stilbruch ist, moderne Kunst mit antiken Rahmen zu kombinieren. Vielfach treten Stilelemente in der Kunstgeschichte sowohl in Rahmen als auch in Kunstwerken immer wieder auf, so dass durch das cross-over interessante Kombinationen zusammengestellt werden knnen.

Die Fotografi en zeigen antike Rahmen aus der aktuellen Auktion, in denen verschiedene Kunstwerke der Galerie Beck & Eggeling - International Fine Art gerahmt wurden, denen wir herzlich fr die Zusammenarbeit danken. Im Einzelnen werden folgende Arbeiten gezeigt:

Antique frames and modern artworkThe interplay of antique frames and modern artwork is no contradiction; rather it creates a truly unique visual tension.

Picasso, who seemingly had a penchant for antique frames, was not the fi rst to realise that it is not a style faux pas to combine modern artwork with antique frames. Often, style elements re-emerge time and time again throughout art history, both in frames and artwork. When combined together, these can result in fascinating style crossovers.
