Luxemburg (amtlich Groherzogtum Luxemburg, luxemburgisch Groussherzogtum Ltzebuerg, franzsisch Grand-Duch de Luxembourg) ist eine parlamentarische Monarchie in West- und Mitteleuropa.Mit einer Flche von 2586Quadratkilometern ist Luxemburg einer der kleinsten Flchenstaaten der Erde und (nach Malta) das zweitkleinste Mitglied der Europischen Union. Es grenzt im Sden ber 73Kilometer an Frankreich, im Westen ber 148Kilometer an Belgien und im Osten ber 135Kilometer an Deutschland. Die wirtschaftliche Bedeutung des Landes bertrifft allerdings mit Rang 70 aller Staaten weltweit beim nominellen Bruttosozialprodukt diejenige weitaus grerer und bevlkerungsreicherer Staaten auch in der EU.
