In den ersten beiden Aprilwochen tummeln sich wieder internationale Spitzenmusiker in den Bars und auf den Sonnenterrassen der eleganten Lecher und Zürser Hotels. Ein abwechslungsreicher Musik-Mix aus Swing und Electro-Swing, Jazz und Nu-Jazz, Rock‘n‘Roll, Boogie, Latin, Pop und Soul sorgt im ganzen Ort für ein einzigartiges Après-Ski- und Festivalfeeling. Hier wird die Sonnenterrasse inmitten der Skipiste zum Parkett, die Hotelbar zum Fünf-Uhr-Tee-Salon, die Lounge zum schummerigen Jazzclub, die Lobby zum Ballsaal, der Skischuh zum Tanzschuh!

During the first two weeks of April, the bars and terraces of elegant hotels in Lech and Zürs will once again be packed with international music stars. A unique après-ski and festival atmosphere will reign over the entire region thanks to a diverse music mix of swing and electro-swing, jazz and nu-jazz, rock ‚n‘ roll, boogie, Latin, pop and soul sounds. The sun terrace high on the ski slope will morph into a dance floor, the hotel bar will become a tea room, the lounge a dimly-lit jazz club, the lobby a ballroom and ski-boots will transform into dancing shoes!

Die Welt von Tankus the Henge ist beflügelnd und wild, dunkel und herzlich. Das Super Lounge Orchestra ist ein international erfolgreiches Musikprojekt des Italieners Bebo Best. “The ’Reinheitsgebot’“ (purity requirement) is not what Ulf Lindemann is about, neither in his role as a musician nor an expert spice mixer (which he creates from his own recipes). Originally from Hamburg, he now lives in Vienna and is well known under his stage name [dunkelbunt]. For ye-ars, his productions have followed the credo of ’anything is possible!’. Balkan beats meet electro swing, hip hop grooves with sunshine reggae and bluegrass collides with Bollywood trap.“ (Falter, Gerhard Stoeger)From his beginnings with jazzpiano and Turntablizm, [dunkelbunt] has created “World Electronica“ since the end of the 1990s, fusing organic and electronic soundscapes and rhythms from around the world. His in-ternational breakthrough came in 2003 with the Balkan hip hop single “The Chocolate Butterfly“, quickly followed with the electro swing hit “Cinnamon Girl“. In 2014 he scored his first German hit with the song “Egal“.

Sugar Daisy’s Hot Club bringt den Swing zurück auf die Bühnenbretter und Tanzflächen diverser Locations – und das mit viel Getöse und dementsprechendem Publikumsandrang. Denn wenn diese sieben Jungs aus Wien loslegen, bleibt keine Ferse am Parkett haften und schon nach wenigen Takten ist man inmitten fliegender Tweed-Jacketts und Petticoats. Fliegen und Krawatten werden gelockert, um die brennende Luft besser atmen zu können, die von den Sounds der Band immer wieder neu angefacht wird. Sugar Daisy’s Hot Club brings a regular dose of swing back onto the sta-ges and dance floors of various locations, creating plenty of noise and drawing huge crowds. When these seven young guys from Vienna get going, people can‘t help but move their feet. Before you know it, you‘re surrounded by flying tweed jackets and petticoats. Dicky-bows and ties are loosened so that the nostrils are filled with the burning air kindled by the band‘s sound. An evening reminiscent of crackling black-and-white films – only live and in colour!

Jung, charmant und dynamisch

Das Duo Maria und Severin Posch verwandelt seine musikalischen Ideen und Einflüsse in eine Stilrichtung zwischen alternativen Popsongs, Rock‘n‘Roll und Klavierballaden. Dennoch sind ihre selbstverfassten Songs nicht klar einem Genre zuzuordnen, vielmehr wird der Sound schon seit der Bandgründung 2009 durch ihren individuellen und unverkennbaren Stil geprägt, der sich vor allem durch eine außergewöhnliche Dynamik zwischen Maria und Severin auszeichnet. Live werden die beiden von vier Musikern instrumental unterstützt, wodurch noch mehr Bandbreite und Lebendigkeit entsteht. Vielfalt und ein ganz besonderer Charme zeichnen jeden ihrer Auftritte aus.

Immer wieder trifft er sich mit musikalischen Freunden und Gleichgesinnten zum wechselseitigen Austausch an besonderen Orten. Die dabei entstehenden spontanen Sessions sind legendär. Nach einem erfolgreichen Tanzcafé-Arlberg-Auftakt im letzten Jahr kommt es auch heuer wieder zu einem musikalischen Gipfeltreffen in Zürs.

In den letzten fünf Jahren war die Band auf Festivals in der ganzen Welt unterwegs. Young, charming and dynamic

The duo Maria and Severin Posch transform their musical ideas and in-fluences into a style that combines alternative pop songs, rock ‘n‘ roll and piano ballads. The songs they write can‘t be pigeonholed as one particular genre; since they started out in 2009, their sound has taken on an individual and unmistakable style, which is characterised by the exceptional dynamic between Maria and Severin. At live performances, instrumental accompaniment is provided by four musicians, bringing an even greater range and more vibrancy to their sound. Each one of their performances is characterised by a special kind of charm.

With his authentic, infectious boogie piano entertainment and the pro-duction of festivals of this same genre, Richie Loidl has made a name for himself around the world over the past 30 years. “Shaking“ is not just Richie‘s trademark, it‘s also his positive life philosophy. He is always collaborating with musical friends and like-minded people in unique locations; the spontaneous sessions that result are legendary. Following on from a successful appearance at Tanzcafé Arlberg last year, this year he‘s returning to Zürs for a musical spectacle.

Siebzehn Jahr, wunderbar!

Die erst siebzehnjährige Emma Bale wurde bereits drei Mal für den Mia (Music Industry Awards – Hit of the year, Best Breakthrough and Pop) nominiert. Mit ihrer Debütsingle „All I Want“, einer Coverversion des gleichnamigen Kodaline-Songs, erreichte sie Platz eins der iTunes-Charts, das Selfmade-Video erhielt über eine Million Klicks. Ein fulminanter Start, der auch den belgischen Superstar Milow so beeindruckt, dass er sie 2015 auf seine Solo-Tour mitnimmt. Im November desselben Jahres veröffentlichten die beiden die gemeinsame Single „Fortune Cookie“, die ebenfalls die Charts stürmte. Emmas erste EP „My World Untouched“ wurde im Sommer 2016 veröffentlicht. Gemeinsam mit Birdy, Gabrielle Alpin und Adele gehört Emma schon jetzt zu einer neuen Generation junger talentierter Sängerinnen. Und das ist erst der Anfang!

Swingende Energiebündel

Der gebürtige Essener Songwriter und Produ-zent Martin Strathausen ist mit seiner Band Tape Five weltweit unterwegs, um den Elec-tro-Swing über Europa hinaus nach Russland, Japan und Südamerika zu bringen. Bereits das 2006 erschienene Debütalbum verkaufte sich in Europa, Asien und den USA. Seither haben Tape Five fünf weitere Alben veröffentlicht, zuletzt „Circus Maximus“. Mit einer Mischung aus Latin-Songs und Bossanova, druckvollen Bläserdialogen im Stil der Big Bands der 30er- und 40er-Jahre und mächtigen Bässen lässt die Band auf internationalen Festivals den Tanzboden glühen.

Eine elektronische Zeitmaschine

Lamuzgueule vermischen gekonnt Swing und Chansonelemente mit harten elektronischen Beats und tre-ten damit auf unkonventionelle Art und Weise in die Fußstapfen von Künstlern wie Parov Stelar. Prickelnde Kompositionen und Melodien werden an Straßenecken aufgegriffen und mit blühenden Texten ver-sehen, die sich mit ironischer Bedächtigkeit in den rhythmischen elek-tronischen Strom ergießen. Visuell im zeitgenössisch ansprechenden Retrostil spielen die aus Grenoble stammenden Musiker mit Saxophon, Gitarre, Keyboard, Bass und Vocals stets etwas versetzt und frönen dem ewigen Anachronismus.

Sweet seventeen!

Though only seventeen, Emma Bale has already been nominated for three MIAs (Music Industry Awards - Hit of the year, Best Breakthrough and Pop). Her stripped-down version of Kodaline’s “All I Want“ got to #1 in the iTunes charts and the self-made video has already racked up more than one million views. An amazing start, which also lead to a gold award. Milow is so impressed, he invited her to play on his solo tour last year. Her first EP “My World Untouched“ was released in summer 2015. In October 2015, her chart-storming hit “Fortune Cookie“ with Milow was released. Together with Birdy, Gabrielle Aplin and Adele, Emma be-longs to a new generation of young and talented singers. Essen-born songwriter and producer Martin Strathausen is touring the world with his band Tape Five, bringing electro swing to the rest of Eu-rope, Russia, Japan and South America. Their 2006 debut album was sold in Europe, Asia and the USA. Since then, Tape Five have released five more albums, including their latest “Circus Maximus“. With a mix of Latin songs and bossa nova, a powerful sound of wind instruments in the style of big bands from the 1930s and 40s and some mighty bass, the band fills the dance floors at international festivals.

Lamuzgueule are skilfully mixing swing, Balkan and electro beats with French & English lyrics. Sparkling compositions and melodies that re-sonate to the old as well as the new are performed with ironic narrative texts and an infectious rhythm that will surely make you sway to the beat. The vintage sounds of the saxophone, vocals and guitar are mixed with contagious electronic beats in their own unique style. The musicians from Grenoble bring genres together, mixing swing with electro and all played out with a festival of words. Lamuzgueule is an exercise in perpe-tual anachronism.

Flo‘s Jazz Casino ist eine Hommage an den amerikanischen Jazz von seinen Anfängen in den „Roaring Twenties“ bis in die Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts. Dixieland, New Orleans Jazz, Chicago Jazz, Italian-American-Swing-Music und Cool Jazz. Grandiose Interpreten wie Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Sammy Davis Jr., Louis Prima, Dean Martin, Louis Armstrong oder Chet Baker machten großartige Lieder zu zeitlosen Welthits. Flo‘s Jazz Casino nimmt Sie mit auf eine Zeitreise in die Clubs und Casinos dieser Ära. Damals, als eine euphorisierte junge Generation in den Speakeasies und Jazz Clubs der Prohibition trotzte und der kochende Swing-Beat die von Rauch und Leidenschaft geschwängerte Luft elektrisierte.

Die deutsche Singer-Songwriterin Leslie Clio veröffentlichte ihre erste Platte „Gladys“ 2013 bei Universal Music. Ein Retro-Soul-Pop-Album, das auf Platz 11 der deutschen Albumcharts landete. Obendrein wurden ihre Musikvi-deos über sechs Millionen mal auf YouTube angesehen.Die Singles „I Couldn‘t Care Less“ und „Told You So“ wurden auf der Stelle zu Radio-Hits und brachten ihr eine Nominierung für den bedeu-tendsten deutschen Musikpreis „ECHO“ ein. Dem Erfolg ihrer ersten Platte folgend, veröffentliche Leslie Clio im Frühjahr 2015 „Eureka“. Das Album chartete auf Platz 13, die erste Singleauskoppelung „My Heart Ain‘t That Broken“ wurde ein weiterer Top 50 Airplay-Hit und erreichte über 10 Millionen Spotify-Streams. Derzeit arbeitet Leslie an ihrem dritten Album, dessen Veröffentlichung im Frühjahr 2017 ge-plant ist.

These were times when incredibly talented per-formers such as Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr., Bing Crosby, Louis Prima, Dean Martin, Louis Armstrong and Chet Baker made music beyond comparison.Flo‘s Jazz Casino takes you on a journey to the clubs and casinos of the 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s. Back to an era in which a euphoric young ge-neration braved prohibition in the speakeasies and jazz clubs, where the cooking swing beat electrified an atmosphere full of smoke and subtle sensual tones.

Leslie is currently working on her 3rd album, which is tentatively scheduled for release in spring 2017.

Man nehme einen Karpfen, befülle ihn und fertig ist der „Gefilte Fish“, das be-kannteste Gericht der osteuropäischen jüdischen Küche. Gefilte Swing arbeiten nach dem gleichen Rezept. Sie füllen Klezmer mit populärer amerikanischer Musik der 20er- und 30er-Jahre: Foxtrott, Charleston und Swing. Gefilte Swing spielen Kle-zmer-Tunes als Jazz-Standards. Und wie es sich beim Jazz gehört, spielt Improvisation dabei eine wesentliche Rolle. Die aus Frankreich stammende Band holt eine musikalische Bewegung in die Gegen-wart, die im Amerika der 20er-Jahre von eingewanderten osteuropäi-schen Musikern begonnen wurde. Mit Gefilte Swing sind Klezmer und Swing heute unzertrennlich und leben glücklich bis an ihr Ende …

Das neue Live-Projekt des italienischen DJs und Producers Giorgio Cencetti aka Farrapo erblickte das Licht der Welt auf dem Congo Square, kei-nem geringerem Platz als der Geburtsstätte des Jazz in New Orleans. Funk, Afrobeats und die Echos einer Brasskapelle treffen auf Jazz Manou-che sowie Hip Hop, Raggamuffin und Elektronisches. So klingt das 21. Jahrhundert!

The Sugar Sisters are three solo performers, Ruby Wood (Submotion Or-chestra), Stac (Wah Wah 45s) and Heather McClelland, who have been brought together by a love of three-part harmonies, ukulele and red lip-stick. As three accomplished solo artists with individual styles, the Sugar Sisters are able to deliver sophisticated harmonies and arrangements of 1940’s swing, 90’s R‘n’B and Calypso with a playful sassiness and infectious charm. Their performances are always vibrant and dynamic and are capable of captivating any audience.

Take a carp and stuff it, and you get the gefilte fish, the most famous dish of eastern European Jewish cuisine.As for the Gefilte Swing, it’s the same recipe. They stuff some klezmer with popular American music from the 1920s and 30s: fox trot, Charles-ton and swing.Gefilte Swing play the klezmer tunes as jazz standards. And as jazz de-mands, improvisation plays a major role part in the band’s performan-ce. Mixing together klezmer and swing, the French musicians take on a trend which started in the 1920s with eastern European musicians who had emigrated to the US. Today with the Gefilte Swing, swing and klez-mer dance off to live happily ever after …
