I made new friends and enjoyed the craft activities. I loved the singing, going for walks and playing on the beach. I learnt about the lost sheep and the two men that built their houses, one on the sand the other on the rocks . David says: I enjoyed church camp for the third year. The food was very nice, I did lots of fun activities and made some new friends. Toasting marshmallows on the camp fire at night was exciting but I burnt my lips on the very hot, hot chocolate. The wet and wild was really good fun as it cooled us down in the hot sunny weather. I loved learning new songs about praising the Lord with Greg and hearing stories about God. Thank you Becks and Miriam for looking after us both and we can't wait until next years camp. Val Vine’s daughter Amelia has been accepted as a nursery teacher on board The Logos Hope. Run by a Christian charity, all crew and the captain are volunteers who need to raise funds for their support for two years. There will be 22 children of volunteers on board. Amelia will be teaching them. The parents will work to provide much needed relief and share the message of the hope of God during two week stays in various ports. They work with local communities joining their churches. For more info and to donate: www.omships.org or cheques accompanied by a note saying gift is to support Amelia on the Logos. Thanks.

‘BEING A REFUGEE IS PANTS! ’

Sara Roberts writes: ‘Thank you for support you have shown CEFN in the past and please accept our appreciation for any ongoing support you feel

able to offer. CEFN Cefnogi Ffoaduriaid/Supporting Refugees (which covers Meirionydd/Dwyfor) and works with other groups across Wales and the UK to support refugees in various ways has a

Cunning New Plan!! This is a simple idea and one we hope that your various congregations will be able to contribute towards without too much effort or expense…There is an urgent and dire need for new underwear for the refugees trapped in the Calais Jungle- who now number in the region

of 10,000. As you can imagine, the dignity & comfort of clean underwear cannot be over exagger-ated. We are hoping to send new packs of underwear to Calais and are asking those who feel

able to, to buy a pack (or more) when doing their regular shopping- you can pick up a multi pack for only a few ££s. We need Men’s Small & Medium, and Women’s Small/Med, in comfortable

styles- no thongs, please!

BRO HELP NEEDED TO TAKE DOWN CAMP. Our Bro Ardudwy gang have had a good camp : We now need volunteers to help us with striking camp (supplementing the team who have just done

2 camps and will be very tired). Could you help with this? Tues 23rd and Wed 24th August –

we’ll start work each day at 9am. Food etc will be provided.

Tasks will involve packing equipment, cleaning, taking down tents and marquees, moving every-thing to storage shed via tractor trailer etc. Please come for whatever time you can spare. The field is to the left at the end of Cors-y-Gedol drive—follow the red arrows (not The Red Arrows!)

Next concert at St. Tanwg's Harlech Mon Aug 29th 7.30. Local popular music group, Elastic Band, featuring Kathy and Ian Hampson who regularly sing and play in services in the Bro. Their

repertoire stretches over almost a century from the 1920s to the pre-sent day. What a great way to end the Bank Holiday in a relaxed en-vironment with some familiar and enjoyable songs. Wine and nibbles

will be available. £5 at the door, with concessions for families.
