Children’s rights are recorded in the convention on the Rights of Children (Children convention)

The children‘s Rights Convention

• When? => since 1989.• From whom? => Created by the United Nations.• 192 countries (Only the Somalia and USA are missing)• What? => A detailed list of children’s rights. 54 articles • The UN controls every country (which has accepted this convention)

to report on its actions on children rights.• Unfortunaly children’s rights are not being enforced in all countries.

discrimination, irrespective of religion, origin and gender.• The right to own a name and a nationality.• The right to health.• The right to education and training.• The right to free time play and recreation.

be heard.• The right to a non-violent education and a privacy.• The right to immediate assistance in disasters and notaries such

as poverty, hunger and war, and protection from neglect, exploitation and persecution.• The right to a family, a parental care and a safe home.• The right to care with disability.
