Der Sage nach lebten im Mummelsee Nixen, die nur sehr selten ans Ufer kamen. Man schrieb den Nixen zudem übersinnliche Kräfte zu. Diese Nixe wurde vom Mummelsee-König auserwählt, bei uns Menschen zu bleiben, um Gutes zu vermitteln. Sie soll Zuversicht und Mitgefühl stärken. Sie nimmt Wünsche an, sie macht uns friedlich, sie sieht das Gute, sie appelliert an die Liebe zwischen uns Menschen und weist auf uns selbst. Sie erinnert an uraltes, religiöses Gedankengut, das sie neu auszusprechen scheint. Das Hohelied der Liebe (1. Kor, 13) „Wenn ich mit Menschen- und Engelzungen redete und hätte die Liebe nicht, so wäre ich ein tönendes Erz oder eine klingende Schelle.
