    (c)(3) Holds the equipment stationary, despiteany contraction of brake parts,exhaustion of any nonmechanical sourceof energy, or leakage;

    (c)(4) Releases only by a manual control thatdoes not operate any other equipmentfunction;

    (c)(5) Has a means in the equipment operator'scompartment to apply the brakesmanually without shutting down theengine, and a means to release andreengage the brakes without the engineoperating;

    (c)(6) Has a means to ensure that thesupplemental braking system is released

    before the equipment can be trammed,and is designed to ensure the brake isfully released at all times while theequipment is trammed.

    (d) Self-propelled nonpermissiblelight-duty diesel-powered equipmentunder Sec. 75.1908(b), exceptrail-mounted equipment, must beprovided with a parking brake thatholds the fully loaded equipmentstationary on the maximum grade onwhich it is operated despite anycontraction of the brake parts,exhaustion of any nonmechanical sourceof energy, or leakage.

    (f) Self-propelled personnel-elevating workplatforms must be provided with a meansto ensure that the parking brakingsystem is released before the equipmentcan be trammed, and must be designed to

    ensure the brake is fully released atall times while the equipment istrammed.

    (g) Any nonpermissible equipment thatdischarges its exhaust directly into areturn air course must be provided witha power package approved under subpartF of part 7 of this title.

    (h) Self-propelled nonpermissibleheavy-duty diesel-powered equipmentmeeting the requirements of Sec.75.1908(a) must be provided with anautomatic fire suppression systemmeeting the requirements of Sec.75.1911.

    (l) For purposes of Sec. 75.380(f), a firesuppression system installed ondiesel-powered equipment and meetingthe requirements of this section isequivalent to a fire suppression systemmeeting the requirements of Secs.75.1107-3 through 75.1107-16.
