Endlich ist sie da! Die kleine Lakewood mit dem großen Ton!Die C-32 Edition 2019 benötigte unsere ganz besondere Auf-merksamkeit, da wir die beste kleine Reise- oder Travelgitarre bauen wollten, die wir uns vorstellen konnten. Nun endlich ist sie da. Wir sind sehr stolz und freuen uns darauf, wenn diese Gitarre den Weg in so manche Gitarrensammlung antritt und zur Lieblings „Sofagitarre“ an gemütlichen Abenden wird. Die C-32 Edition 2019 kommt in der klassischen Kombination Fichte/Palisander, hat eine 63cm Mensur und spielt sich (fast) wie von allein. Wenn es noch ein wenig lauter sein soll, dann schiebt das L.R.Baggs „Anthem SL“ Pickupsystem die nötige Energie hinter-her. Unser kleiner Star im Jahr 2019 ist die C-32 Edition 2019.

At last - the little Lakewood with a big sound! The C-32 Edition 2019 needed our special attention as we wanted to build the best travel guitar we could imagine. Finally it has arrived. We are very proud and look forward to this guitar making its way into collections and becoming a favourite “sofa guitar” on cosy evenings. The C-32 Edition comes in the classic spruce / rosewood combination, has a 63cm scale and plays (almost) by itself. If it needs to be a little louder, the L.R.Baggs “Anthem SL” pickup system will do the necessary. Our little star in 2019 is the C-32 2019 Edition.

Endlich!... ist sie da, die neue kleine Gitarre von Lakewood!Sie heißt „Concert“ und wir kürzen sie liebevoll mit einem „C“ ab, um den künftigen Modellen Ihre Namen zu geben. In der neuen Edition Serie 2019 findet sie nun als C-32 Edition 2019 ihren Platz.

She‘s finally there! The new small Lakewood guitar that we lovingly named „Concert“. In the model name we‘re using the „C“ that will stand for all guitars with this small body shape in the future. So, here we introduce the new model C-32 Edition 2019 in this year‘s Edition Series!

Ein Klassiker in Fichte und Mahagoni mit V-Hals ist die M-14 Edition 2019. Die sehr bewährte Holzkombination ist für Studio-aufnahmen mit Mikrofonen prädestiniert. Und so ist diese Gi-tarre „ganz auf Ton“ gebaut. Balance, Balance und noch einmal Balance. Die nordamerikanische Sitkafichtendecke unterstützt das Klangspektrum mit differenziert abgebildetem Bass. Der V-Hals vermittelt ein sicheres Griffgefühl für die linke Hand und schmeichelt sich auf angenehme Art ein. Die zurückhaltende Optik der Gitarre macht vor der zart aufgetragenen Hochglanz-politur halt. Auf einmal strahlt dieses Instrument dann doch in ganz besonderer Weise.

The M-14 Edition 2019 is a classic in spruce and mahogany with a V-neck. This well proven wood combination is predestined for studio recording with microphones. Accordingly, this guitar is built “dedicated to tone”; balance, balance and again bal-ance. The North American Sitka spruce top supports the sonic spectrum with well differentiated basses. The V-neck provides a secure and pleasantly flattering grip for the left hand. The restrained appearance of the guitar is contained by its delicately applied high gloss finish; this instrument shines in a very special way.

M-14 Edition 2019

Kompakt und spitz kommt die A-22 Edition 2019 daher. Wir bau-en immer wieder einmal Gitarren mit florentinischem Cutaway, so wie in den Anfangsjahren der Firma Lakewood. Wie schade, dass diese Gitarren kaum in die Öffentlichkeit gelangen und wie schön, dass wir in der Editionserie die Gelegenheit haben, solch ein Instrument zu zeigen und davon zu überzeugen. Eine Fich-tendecke wird mit Nussbaumzargen und -boden kombiniert. Der daraus entstehende Klang ist balanciert mit charmantem Bass, differenzierten Mitten und feinen Höhen. Als Bühneninstru-ment lässt sich diese leicht spielbare Gitarre mit dem L.R. Baggs „Anthem“ Pickupsystem verstärken.

The A-22 Edition 2019 is compact and accurate. Every so often we build guitars with a Florentine cutaway as in Lakewood’s early years. What a pity that these guitars are rarely publicized and how good that in the Edition series we now have an oppor-tunity to introduce and prove such an instrument. The spruce top is combined with walnut back and sides. The resulting tone is balanced with charming basses, differentiated midrange and fine trebles. As a stage instrument this easily playable guitar may be amplified with its L.R. Baggs “Anthem” pickup system.

Lakewood wurde im Jahr 1986 dreißig Jahre alt und das feierten wir mit einem Sondermodell, bei dem Zarge und Boden aus hei-mischer Ulme angefertigt waren. Das Sondermodell war rasch ausverkauft und die Fragen folgten, wann denn andere Gitarren-modelle in dieser Holzsorte erhältlich wären. Nun denn, jetzt ist sie da...die D-30-12 Edition 2019, eine fein klingende 12-saitige Gitarre, deren Bestandteile ganz aus heimischen Hölzern zusam-mengestellt sind. Ulme eignet sich klanglich sehr überzeugend für den „Klangteppich“, den eine 12-saitige Gitarre erzeugen soll. Der Ahornhals trägt zur Tontrennung bei und stärkt die Strahlkraft der Gitarre. Die D-30-12 Edition 2019 ist mit einer 63-cm Mensur und dem Hals-Korpusübergang am 13. Bund aus-gestattet. Das L.R.Baggs „Anthem“ Pickupsystem verleiht dieser Gitarre zusätzliche Bühnentauglichkeit.

Lakewood turned thirty years old in 1986 and we celebrated with a special model with a body of indigenous elm trees. The special edition sold out quickly and the question followed as to when other guitar models would be available in this wood. Well, now it has arrived... the D-30-12 Edition 2019, a fine-sounding 12-string guitar whose components are made entirely of indig-enous woods. Elm provides a very convincing “sound carpet” which one would expect from a 12-string guitar. The maple neck contributes to the tonal separation and charisma of the guitar. The D-30-12 Edition 2019 is equipped with a 63-cm scale with neck-body transition at the 13th fret. The L.R.Baggs “Anthem” pickup system gives this guitar additional stage suitability.

M-31 Edition 2019

Andersrum gedacht, spiegelverkehrt und für all diejenigen, die am Rande der Gitarrenwelt stehen, wo zu selten darauf Rück-sicht genommen wird, dass 10-15% aller Menschen als Links-händer leben und demzufolge auch entsprechende Gitarren benötigen. Die M-31 Edition 2019 heilt dieses Dilemma auf ganz wunder-bare Weise mit einer Kombination von Zeder und indischem Pa-lisander; einem Kraftpaket, das bei großem Ton die Differenziert-heit nicht verliert, die Lakewood Gitarren zu eigen ist. Körper und Kopf sind optisch ansprechend mit Mahagoni eingefasst. Im Live-Betrieb wird sich diese Gitarre durch das eingebaute L.R.Baggs „Anthem“ Pickupsystem bewähren.

Oppositely thought, mirrored and for those who are on the edge of the guitar world, it is too seldom recognised that 10-15% of all people are left-handers and need corresponding guitars.The M-31 Edition 2019 miraculously heals this dilemma with a combination of cedar and Indian rosewood, a powerhouse whose big sound does not compromise the sophistication we expect from Lakewood guitars. Body and headstock are visually appealing with mahogany inlays. In live performances this guitar will prove itself through the built-in L.R.Baggs “Anthem” pickup system.

D-34 Edition 2019

So viele schöne Einzelstücke sind bereits aus Padouk entstan-den und im Verborgenen geblieben. Mit der D-34 Edition 2019 kommt jetzt endlich solch eine Gitarre in die Öffentlichkeit. Sie hat es wahrhaft verdient! Das attraktive Padoukholz hat heraus-ragende klangliche Eigenschaften. Klare Tontrennung, großes Volumen und prägnanter Bass sind die Wesensmerkmale der afrikanischen Holzsorte, deren Farbton sich im Laufe der Jahre durch UV-Einstrahlung von Rot in ein harmonisches Rotbraun verändert. Es bleibt der überragende Ton dieser besonderen Dreadnought Gitarre und die elegante Ausführung mit Rand-einlagen aus Koa und einer feinen Schallochrosette mit zwei Abalone Zierringen. Als Bühnengitarre wird sich die D-34 Edition 2019 mit dem eingebauten L.R.Baggs „Anthem Stagepro“ Pickup System bewähren.

So many beautiful individual items have already emerged from Padouk but remained secret. With the new D-34 Edition 2019 we will finally see such a guitar in public. And she truly deserves it! The attractive Padouk wood has outstanding tonal quali-ties. Clear separation, big volume and concise basses are the essential characteristics of this African wood whose coloration due to future UV radiation over the years will move from red to a harmonious reddish brown. What emerges is this special Dreadnought guitar with outstanding tone, elegant design, Koa edge inserts and a fine soundhole rosette with two decorative abalone rings. The D-34 Edition 2019, fitted with the L.R.Baggs “Anthem Stagepro” pickup system, will doubtless prove itself as a fine stage guitar.

A-36 Edition 2019

Flamenco-neu interpretiert! Die A-36 Edition 2019 vereint den differenzierten Ton der Au-ditorium Gitarrenform mit einer Nylonsaiten-Version und der Wahl von Zedernholz für die Decke und leichtem Zypressenholz für Zarge und Boden. Griffbrett und Steg sind aus Palisander. Das Gewicht dieses Instruments ist extrem gering. Der Ton spricht unmittelbar an und ist feingliedrig und spritzig. Die A-36 Edition 2019 ist eine Flamenco-Crossover-Gitarre, ein unfassbar schnel-les Instrument, dass sich zwischen den Klangwelten von Stahl- und Nylonsaiten bewegt. Das Instrument ist mit dem differen-ziert klingenden L.R.Baggs „Anthem SL Classical“ Pickupsystem versehen.

Flamenco – a new interpretation! The A-36 Edition 2019 combines the nuanced tone of the Audi-torium guitar shape with a nylon string version and a choice of cedar top and light cypress body. The fretboard and bridge are built in rosewood. The weight of this instrument is very low. Its tone is responsive, delicate and lively. The A-36 Edition 2019 is a flamenco crossover guitar, an incredibly fast instrument that moves between the realms of steel and nylon strings. The instru-ment is equipped with the ideally matched L.R.Baggs “Anthem SL Classical” pickup system.

M-38 Edition 2019Heimische Hölzer · Indigenous woods

Als klangliche und ästhetische Alternative zu tropischen Hölzern bieten sich viele einheimische Hölzer an. Wer würde beim Gang durch den regionalen Wald oder ein Baumgrundstück vermu-ten, dass in den dort wachsenden Bäumen die Substanz für ein außerordentliches Klangerlebnis steckt. Genau das ist der Fall, wenn wir uns bei der Wahl von Zarge und Boden für Kirschbaum entscheiden. Seit vielen Jahren verwenden wir dieses attraktive Tonholz und erzeugen damit einen wunderbar ausgewogenen und warmen Klang, der stets differenziert und von großer Kom-plexität ist. Es muss einfach die Kombination mit einer wilden europäischen Haselfichtendecke sein und die farblich attraktive Kombination mit der Wahl des Pflaumenholzes für Kopfplatte, Griffbrett, Steg und Mechanikengriffe. Die M-38 Edition 2019 ist ein Bekenntnis zu hochwertigen heimischen Hölzern.

As a sonic and aesthetic alternative to tropical woods, many in-digenous woods are available. Who would have guessed, when walking through a regional forest or local grove, that those very trees represent a vital option for an extraordinary sound experi-ence. That‘s exactly what happens when we choose cherry wood for guitar bodies. For many years we have used this attractive tonewood to create a wonderfully balanced, warm sound that is always differentiated and of great complexity. Particularly in combination with a wild European spruce top and the attrac-tive colour combination of a plum wood headstock, fretboard, bridge and tuner knobs. The M-38 Edition 2019 represents a firm commitment to high quality indigenous woods.

M-52 Edition 2019

Wenn man auf die Suche nach außerordentlichem Holz in Nordamerika geht, so fällt die Wahl ganz schnell auf Mythe, einer äußerst attraktiven Holzsorte, die besonders hochwertige Toneigenschaften hat. Myrthe klingt stark und präzise mit sehr schneller Ansprache. Dieses Holz paaren wir mit einer wunder-baren europäischen Haselfichtendecke; eine klare Aussage zur deutsch-amerikanischen Freundschaft und dem Multilateralis-mus. So entsteht eine wirkliche „Ohrenweide“, von optischen Attributen wie den neuen Lilien Griffbretteinlagen ganz abgese-hen. Bei der M-52 Edition 2019 kombinieren wir dies mit einer etwas kürzeren 63cm Mensur und einem Hals-Korpusübergang am 13. Bund. Das sind Konstruktionsmerkmale, die diese Gitarre extrem leicht spielbar, kompakt und liebenswert machen. Ach-tung: Es ist kein Klangverlust zu befürchten!

If you are looking for extraordinary North American wood, myr-tle is an obvious choice. This is an extremely attractive species of wood with particularly high-quality tonal properties. Myrtle sounds strong and precise with very fast response. This wood has been paired with a wonderful European spruce top; a clear statement of German-American friendship and multilateralism. This creates a real “ear meadow” with great optical attributes such as the new lily fingerboard inlays. The M-52 Edition 2019 has the slightly shorter 63cm scale and a neck-body transition at the 13th fret. These are the design features that make this guitar extremely easy to play, compact and adorable. NB: there is no sound loss to be feared!
