    Tower Bridge is one of London's iconicsights of England.

    It was constructed in 1894, Tower Bridgewas the most sophisticated bascule bridgeof its time.

    London Zoo

    London Zoo is one of Britain's top attractionsand is the world's oldest scientific zoo foundedover 180 years ago. It can be found in theheart of London, in Regent's Park. it is run bythe Zoological Society of London.

    Although this zoo is located in the middle ofthe city it still has plenty of animals to seeincluding lions, camels, giraffes, penguins,

    tigers, monkeys and meerkats. In fact thereare 750 different species of animals making itone of the largest collections of animals in theUK.

    The zoo is divided up into many differentareas which are great fun to explore and help

    Stonehenge, Wiltshire

    Stonehenge is a circle of ancient stoneserected between 3000BC and 1,600BC. Itis one of the most important prehistoric

    monument sites in Britain.

    It was constructed in three phases and ithas been estimated that this took morethan 30 million hours of labour. Some thinkit was designed as a place to worship thesun, others believe it may have been a

    place of sacrifice.

    Visitors are not permitted near the stonesunless pre-arranged. Viewing is behind afence that runs around the stone circle.

    The British Museum

    Opened in 1753, houses a world collection ofart and antiquities from ancient and livingcultures that spans two million years of

    history. There are over 7 million artefactshoused in the museum representing everyhistory period from the Vikings to the Romansto the Egyptians and Medievel Europe withexamples of pottery, jewellery, statues,paintings, sculptures and many more.

    Entry to the museum is free but there areadmission charges for entry to exhibitions. Asexhibitions change, check the website or callfor specific information.

    Buckingham Palace

    Is the Queen's official London residence andis used to receive and entertain guests onstate, ceremonial and official occasions for the

    Royal Family. The palace was originally builtin 1705 for the Duke of Buckingham.

    The Palace is located between The GreenPark, Hyde Park and St. James's Park.

    Changing the GuardThe Changing the Guard ceremony takesplace in the forecourt of Buckingham Palaceat 11.30 every day in summer, every other dayin winter.

    The New Guard marches to the Palace from

    Wellington Barracks with a Guards band, theOld Guard hands over in a ceremony duringwhich the sentries are changed and thenreturns to barracks.

    The ceremony lasts about 45 minutes and is

    free to watch.
