1845
The foundation
Johann Conrad Develey founded the Develey mustard factory in Munich.
1874
„Your Highness“
The royal court awarded Johann Conrad Develey the title of "Royal Bavarian Court Supplier".
1854
Sweet inventiveness
Johann Conrad Develey invented the recipe for Bavarian sweet mustard.
1900
New factory
The foundation stone for the Durach company (later Develey) is laid with the establishment of a sour cabbage factory.
Loyal partnership
Start of cooperation with McDonald’s. Today in 45 countries, worldwide.

As a processor of high-quality agricultural products, the protection
of the environment and the responsible use of resources are particularly close to our hearts.

Mustard needs a home. To shape the identity of our products, we
specifically promote German mustard cultivation, produce regionally and
are committed locally.

We are committed to 100% inclusion at our sites:

By 2023, we will reduce or eliminate the use of egg in branded products in
Germany unless egg is a name-or value-giving ingredient.
100 % FCS / recycled
By 2021, our paper packaging is 100% FSC certified and/or recycled.
100 % self-generatedgreen electricity
From 2025, we will use renewable electricity from our own plants at all
our German sites.
30 % rPET
Until 2022 all our PET-packagings for branded products have a minimum
of 30% rPET.
35 % Resource saving
By 2025, we will save 35% in electricity, heat, water, waste & fuel per ton of
product vs. 2011 levels.

By 2025, we will reduce packaging to a minimum:
-800 metric tons (2016 as basis).
