Justification The mentioned products do not contain any additives, which could be qualified as impure [najis] according to Islamic law, are not produced from any impurity [najasat] and do not contact any impurity during the production process. This has been evalu-ated by Muslim experts based on the already existing certificate, which should be renewed, and on the existing list of additives and the plant visit on the 27th of August 2015.

The spices are acquired worldwide, often at futures markets and delivered in commercially available packages. As there is no contradicting information, pure vegetable raw materials have to be qualified as “ritual pure” [tahir]. The raw materials storage depends on its quantity of delivery e.g. in silos or in-house stocks. The raw material is not contacted by human skin in any situation during its storage. All raw materials originate from vegetable or mineral sources, which means that any possible contamination of stocks or containers can be excluded. During production the mentioned products do basically pass only units of mechanical crushing and mixing processes in dry condition. Furthermore special Halal-Rooms are arranged and marked for the production of Halal-Spices.

Raw materials of larger quantities are filled by own pipe-systems or manual transport to the units. Components of minor amount are added manually after initial weight. In this sector all employees are obligated to wear gloves, as it is obligated in nearly all other sectors of the production. Any contact with human skin can therefore be ex-cluded. Any contact with fluids can also be excluded due to quality reasons as well as during the storage and the production of the dry products. In a few cases oxygen in-side the apparatuses is substituted by nitrogen, which has no influence on the prod-ucts ritual purity [taharat].

Machines and instruments are cleaned in planned intervals, dry in the first step and afterwards liquid by applying several cleaning steps and using the cleaning agent Neomoscan FA19Z. The cleanings agent does not contain any impure [najis] compo-nents from the religious and ritual point of view. Moreover, further cleaning steps are applied by using water and steam, which means that a existing contamination would be cleaned anyway. The certified products include the following ingredients in different compositions:

All mentioned ingredients are from pure vegetable or mineral sources and therefore ritual pure [tahir] and permitted for Muslims. Even in cases of ingredients which theo-retically could be from an animal source, as for instance the fatty acids, the company purchase department pays great attention that a vegetable origin (in this case Soya) is assured. The Brandy Vinegar is halal certified. A strict prohibition of alcohol for employees exists inside the production site. This is further announced by notices. Possible offences are being punished drastically by the plant management, which was assured convincingly. Furthermore the company applies a quality management system. Every incoming raw material is registered and can be identified retroactive. The production has imple-mented and maintains a Quality and Environmental Management System which fulfils the requirements of the standards: International Food Standard (lFS) at Higher Level and has verified, that goods are based on organic farming.

Conclusion

The transparency of all production stages as well as the information of all used mate-rial inside the facilities do not let any doubt, that the mentioned products
