1 Connecting the I-Convert REG to Media-Master

1.1 Abstract The connection between the Media-Master and the „I-Convert-REG“ will be done via RS232-connection with handshake.

On the TOP-side of the I-Convert are 5 terminals for the RS232-connection to the Media-Master. The terminal assignment is on sticker on the device and in the following table (Terminal 1-5 from the left to the right).

3 LED Status

3.1 Abstract On the front side of the I-Convert are 5 LEDs to show status information of the device. The following table specifies the LED-status.

3.2 LED-status table

3.3 LED-status list Refer to the table in chapter 2.2 the meaning of the LED-Status is listed in the following: LED STATUS 1: The device is waiting for a connection to the I-Port of any LCN-Modul. After a proper connection to a LCN-Modul the LED stops blinking. LED STATUS 2: The device is ready to handle the communication. LED STATUS 3: This indicates a data transmission from LCN-System to the RS232 port. LED STATUS 4: This indicates a data transmission from RS232 port to the LCN-System. LED STATUS 5: The last received RS232 command was not complete. Either the last byte (hex 0A) was missed or any character in the string was lost. Please check the programming of the Media-Master. LED STATUS 6: The device is off. This is due to a power failure of the feeding power source or a failure inside the device.

4 Programmers information

4.1 The RS232 protocol The protocol is 19200 baud, 8-bit, 1 stop bit, no parity, and flow control (hardware handshake). Between the RS232 commands to the “I-convert REG” a pause of minimum 200 ms is needed! Note: Commands and status requests are not allowed to target the LCN-Module where the “I-convert REG” is connected to. This LCN-Module is only allowed to have a gateway-function. Software: Software to control and monitor the I-Convert is available at the IOS Homepage:

www.ios-mediensysteme.de

See the download section -> “I-Convert Control software”. IMPORTANT: This software is only to check the I-Convert and monitor the controlstrings. It is not designed and not released to control a Buildingmanagementsystem

like a real user interface can do.

Command to the I-Convert REG In the following the commands for controlling the two electronical outputs: These commands are also controlling the two 1-10V DC outputs voltage. Output toggle: Command to the I-convert REG The output is turned forward in the order Off, On after every command.
