Shovel+Axe= Shaxe
2 models, with specific features to handle specific situations. Tech provides an aggressive pick angle using a steel pick for solid secure swing. The Speed provides the ultra light self arrest tool that doesn’t weigh you down, but you have in your bag just in case.
SHAXE:A unique one of kind product I designed and developed for backcountry travel. A shovel and ice axe that share the same shaft. A secure quick connect system allows the user to switch out the shovel handle for the ice axe head. The ice axe is CE approve as a basic ice tool. Product advantages: Lighter weight than an axe and shovel, lower cost and more packable.

Designed a line of highly technical hunting outerwear for High Altitude Gear. This line was designed to meet the needs of the big game hunter. The products provide the performance needed for mountain hunting in all the elements. I also managed the catalog creation for the brand release.

Insta-LeashInvented, designed, sourced and licensed an
innovative dog collar with a short lead built in. This product is currently sold in US and UK.
True Ympact
Designed, developed and sourced this training aid for True Ympact. From just a rough idea, I had to create a working mechanism to teach golfers to stop flipping their wrist. The mechanism allows full movement in all directions of a normal golf swing except the movement of the leading arm’s wrist at impact. After completing the CAD files I worked with the Asia manufacturer to create the cast, machined and injection molded parts.
Designed and developed graphic kits for Mow Style. Also created mowstyle.com website and logo.
Snowshoe Design & DevelopmentWhat can be done in one year of hard work? Starting at Outdoor Retailer trade show in 2002, I had no experience in snowshoeing or snowshoe design, no vendors or supply chain.By the trade show in 2003 I had researched, designed, developed and sourced a line of 8 products presented at the show. Included in this product line I designed the first snowshoe binding to use the BOA technology closure system.
Every Helium product was Design, Developed and Sourced by myself.

Helium Tradeshow Booth:Designed and managed the logistics of the Helium booth for Surf Expo
After spending time in a boot factory in Taiwan for a snowboard manufacturer, I introduced, evolved and help develop modern boot construction techniques in the wakeboard industry. The standard construction for all wake bindings was die cut flat materials and plastic hardware. I introduced and developed sewn uppers, with integrated stretch zones to replace the traditional cut rubber parts. Then I was able to introduce and develop the “Interface System”, using a boot last and gluing the upper into a midsole that integrated into the mounting plate. This type of construction is now used industry wide in wake, ski and kite. The development is left to right.
Snowboard Boot Construction
Liquid Force product developmentDeveloped a line of products for Liquid Force to be manufactured in Taiwan in 2002. This included developing injection molded TPR parts for the first time on a wakeboard binding.
First Molded in fins on a wakeboardI was the first to develop a set of molded in fins instead of bolt on fins. This technology is currently used on most boards still today.
First baseless wakeboard binding
I developed the first baseless wake binding for O’Brien. This design allowed the user to customize the binding and footbed for best possible fit.
O’brien received a patent for the design which I am listed as the inventor of.
Laser Aligned Fin SystemI was involved in the design and tooling development of the first ever flush bottom mounted fin system. Most fins simply dropped through a machined slot in the ski, this new system fit into a molded in cavity and fastened with inserts set into the core of the ski.
First Full Honeycomb WakeboardThis is the cross section of the first production honeycomb core wakeboard, which I helped develop. The process included crushing the honeycomb core in a special mold first to create the 3D shape. The core was then molded with preimpregnated fiberglass and carbon in a heated compression mold.
Blindside Wakeboard DesignHand shaped prototypes, and converted final proto into 3D CAD file. Worked directly with CNC company to machine aluminum compression molds.
This model was the first design to reduce volume in the tip and tail for increase flex and minimum swing weight for spins. Designed more than 15 unique new board shapes for three different companies.
