CNRCC OutingsCALIFORNIA/N EVADA REGIONAL CONSERVATIONCOMMITTEE DESERT COMMITTEE OUTINGS

The CNRCC Desert Committees purpose is towork for the protection, preservation, and conser-vation of the California/Nevada desert; supportthe same objectives in all desert areas of theSouthwest; monitor and work with governmentsand agencies to promote preservation of our aridlands; sponsor educational and work trips;encourage and support others to work for thesame objectives; maintain, share and publishinformation about the desert.

All Desert Committee activities, unless stated oth-erwise, are suitable for anyone who enjoys theoutdoors. Special physical conditioning is notnecessary. The average car or high clearance vehi-cle will be adequate for most trips; however, manyof the roads used are dirt and, as with all deserttravel, you should come prepared. For a goodguide to desert travel we recommend the SierraClub book "Adventuring in the California Desert" by Lynn Foster.

We want you to enjoy our study trips and work parties. They are designed to help you see thedesert in a way you have not seen it before. We

usually have a campfire in the evenings with lotsof food (potluck) and camaraderie. For a com-plete listing of CNRCC Desert Committee trips, send a large SASE with 57 cents postage to LettyFrench, 14140 Chimney Rock Rd, Paso Robles, CA93446.
