Haguenau Forest and the pottersAt the heart of Haguenau Forest, one of the largest woodlands in France, clay is mined to make the pottery cookware of Alsace in Betschdorf and Souffl enheim. Castles and the Maginot LineFrom the charming town of Wissembourg, this seasonal line takes you on a discovery tour of two sites near Lembach: Four Chaux fort, one of the largest constructions along the Maginot Line with 4 km of underground passages and 6 combat blocks, and the imposing Fleckenstein Castle, half-carved into the rock face in the 12th to 15th century, with its fun trail called the Castle of challenges and an area called Ptit Fleck where you can fi nd out about the forest and sandstone.

While the Alsace dialect is widespread in the vineyards, the Romance dialect can still be heard in Welche country. You can discover the Albert Schweitzer museum in the heart of Kaysersberg, where the famous Nobel Peace Prize winner was born in 1875.
