    $PROFIT TM

What traits are included in $Profit:$Profit includes nearly every trait that impacts profit-ability. The effect of most traits on profit is fairly simple to understand. Here is the list of what is included and its effect:Revenue Traits

Calving ease = more calves Weaning & yearling EPD = more weight Fertility (days to conception) = more weight and

more calves Carcass weight = worth more up to 1050 lbs. Marbling = valued based on grid premiums Ribeye area = value as impacts yield grade % Retail Product = more yield is more meat

Cost Traits Cow mature size = bigger eats more Cow intake = more intake costs more Feedlot feed efficiency = cost of gain

Some traits are not so easily characterized for $Profit. Milk, for example, is a good thing until you get too much. When over +25, milk EPD has a more negative effect on fertility than it has a positive effect on weaning weight. There are a few traits not yet included in $Profit: longevity, structure, and disposition. These traits are important but difficult to express in dollars.

Why $Profit helps:Today, ranchers have too much data to study. With over 20 EPD traits and so many measurements, buying the best bull has become really confusing. Every bull is good on some traits and weak on others. The challenge is figuring out how each of those traits is going to impact your bottom line. We wish we knew which bull would make the most money from birth to slaughter, but most of the time, we end up guessing.

Back in 2005, we decided that we didnt want to guess any more. Dallas Horton asked Lee Leachman to come up with one number that sorted the bulls on their bottom line impact so we did. Since then, we have provided $Profit on all bulls we sell. Furthermore, we are basing almost all of our own selection decisions on $Profit. Literally, we are putting our money where our mouth is.

Let me tell you a story about two bulls that we bought a few years ago from the same sale. Both bulls had complete performance data, ratios, ultrasound, and even feed efficiency data. They were both the same breed. After the sale, we added their herds data into our database to calculate EPDs and $Profit. One bull came out at $8,374 and the other came out at $14,258. That is a huge difference one bull was a great buy and the other was an expensive mistake.

How $Profit works:$Profit assumes that the average commercial bull will have 100 progeny over its lifetime. The model assumes that you keep 30% of your heifers as replacements and that you retain ownership on the remainder of the calves through finishing and sale on a grid. We realize that many dont retain ownership, but doesnt it make the most sense to select from birth all the way to slaughter? Feedlots have already proven their willingness to pay premiums for superior Leachman sired calves.

Our simulation model then factors in all of the effects on both income and expense to come up with a net profit figure for each bull. $Profit allows you to compare any two bulls and calculate the difference in profit that they are expected to generate in your herd. Lets compare a $10,000 $Profit bull to $6,000 $Profit bull (the average 2008 born Angus bull). The predicted difference between the bulls is $4,000 or about $40 per calf. We look forward to the day when we

will promote our customers calves based on the $Profit average of the bulls they use. $Profit works for us and it will work for you too.

The technical team at BIO consists of Dr. Peter Sullivan, Dr. Steve Miller, and independent consultant, Brian Pogue. Dr. Peter Sullivan calculates all of the underlying EPDs for the Leachman analysis. Dr. Miller helped design the $Profit simulation model. Approximately once per month, Dr. Sullivan analyzes the database and updates our $Profit predictions. Brian Pogue works to ensure data integrity and model accuracy. This great team excels at generating the $Profit index exclusively for Leachman Cattle of Colorado.

Bio is a Canadian based company with a mandate for genetic improvement. Their science is leading edge in a number of different areas. • What does a team of horses have to do with cattle breeding? As creatures of habit, all of us resist change. We also much prefer to be independent so that we can choose our own paths. In many ways, we are like a young horse before they are broke to work in a team. Training a team of horses requires CHANGE. The three must learn to work together TEAMWORK. However, a team generally outperforms the work that can be done by the horses working separately. The benefit is SYNERGY where 1+1+1 = 4.

The vision of three wonderfully independent, powerful, and spirited draft horses channeling all their collective energy through a single tongue and plow is a sight to behold. The results exceed what any could have hoped to achieve alone.

CHANGE + TEAMWORK + SYNERGY = LEADERSHIPAt Leachmans, we see $Profit as being like a single plow behind the

three horse team of the Seedstock, Cow/Calf, and Feeder sectors. This will require CHANGE in the way we do business. It will require independent operations to adopt an attitude of TEAMWORK. The resulting SYNERGY will exceed anything we could accomplish separately. The result will be industry LEADERSHIP.

Its Time to Change the Way We Do Business!CHANGE: Fragmented ownership and breeding of cattle has put our industry at a

disadvantage. Our competitors, swine and poultry, have made more genetic progress on production efficiency. As an industry, we cannot afford to fall farther behind. We must respond by identifying, multiplying, and improving the animals that produce high quality beef most efficiently. Its time we change to ensure that our family businesses survive and thrive.

TEAMWORK: Here's our plan to increase teamwork: Share data and our index technology we call this the $Profit Share program. Align with other progressive seedstock producers so they can select for $Profit. Advise ranchers to help them make the right bull selection decisions. Provide $Profit on commercial heifers to help ranchers pick the right

replacements. Score feeder calves with Verified Beef to help ranchers get paid for superior

genetics. Partner with feedlots like Decatur County to collect data and validate our systems.

SYNERGY: Together, we will make more genetic progress for improved profitability than ever before possible.

LEADERSHIP: Together, we will breed cattle that excel for all of the economically relevant traits and lead the industry in profitability.

Far Right (L to R): Great Grandmother and Great, Great Grandmother Leachman, 1st Leachman Bros, Billy Leachman and James H. Leachman. Leland L. Leachman and Lester J Leachman were not born yet. Circa 1908 Adamsville, OH.

Become a Top 10% RancherWhat do we call a top 10% rancher? This is a rancher who is on top of his (or her) game a professional manager of grass and livestock. He implements the best technologies available. He knows his cost of production. He markets his output. He works with a long term plan in mind. By being better than 90% of the industry, he

stays profitable in all but the most difficult of times.

In the pages that follow, we feature some top 10% ranchers. These are by no means our only customers that fall into this category. These ranchers are featured because they have expressed a willingness to tell their story. Whether you study their ranch, their grass, their people, or their cattle you will be impressed. By studying their success, we hope that you can pick up a philosophy or strategy that could be put to use in your operation.

Move Your Herd Into the Top 10% Genetically1. Establish Your TargetsSuccessful programs maintain long term selection goals and stick to their plan. They either target high end product quality (Angus & Red Angus) or they focus on production efficiency with crossbreeding (Stabilizer & Charolais). Both targets work! Then they fine tune by setting goals for cow size, milk level, calving ease, etc.

    2. Find a DoctorNo, you dont really need a doctor, but you should seek help from an outside advisor. Pick someone that you trust and ask them to help you design a program that best fits your targets. At Leachman, we have professional Repre-sentatives that know our system inside and out. Let one of them help you make the best possible decisions.

What Drives $Profit Many traits affect $Profit, but these are the major drivers:

Cow Size Growth Carcass QualityCarcass Weight Feed Efficiency

If you can move all five of these traits in the right direction at the same time, then you will build more profitable cattle. $Profit does this for you!

I sincerely appreciate everything Leachman has done to transfer the use and impact of our research results to the beef industry. The impact of our results were dependent upon the uptake and use of the information by prominent seedstock and commercial producers.

As I have said many times before, no one has had a greater impact in this regard than the Leachman family. It has been documented in your production, publications, speeches, and advertising very effectively. My colleagues, especially Dr. Keith Gregory (deceased) and Dr. Bob Koch both expressed this sentiment on many occasions.

Larry Cundiff: always a student, teacher, and researcher of beef cattle production.

Dr. Cundiff will attend and speak at the Leachman Spring Event:

Larry V. Cundiff and his wife will be present Saturday night, March 22nd at the Budweiser Get Together

He will speak at the Seminar at ARDEC Sunday March 23 about the Use of Heterosis, Breed Differences and Complementarity Among Breeds for Efficient Beef Production.

A take-home written executive summary of Cundiffs remarks and wisdom will be handed out. It is a guide to making decisions using the latest scientific knowledge and technology.

Larry Cundiff and his colleagues at MARC have been important mentors of Leachman programs for three decades. Many Leachman customers and clients, like King Ranch, were introduced by Leachman to Clay Center and their work.

The foundation Stabilizer herd was designed by Keith Gregory and modeled after the English Continental (RA x HH x SM x GV) Marc II composite.

Their work has singularly had the most impact of any research in the history of animal breeding. It has been without any political agenda or bias.

We buy the highest feed efficiency bulls cause we live in tough winter country and need to get by with less hay and winter supplement.

Most everyones cows in the world live in tough places, or more people would be living there or they would be farming it.

Laramie, WY is the 7th coldest spot in the US. Were swept clean with hurricane level winds and have trophy size mosquitos.

Composite cattle fit best in this tough, short grass environment.

High $Profit bulls have to do lots of things right. I trust the numbers more than the phenotype, which allows us to afford really high numbered bulls.

I stay in the $14,000 range.

Our Trinity calves out of our two year old heifers weigh 70 lbs and wean at 640 pounds at 225 days.

Just as important, the Trinity breeding are just plumb easy calving and have so much vigor that they get up and suck right away.

They come easier and have more will to get up and survive than any cattle we have experienced.

I need to know the cattle will perform. Then everyone will bid on them andcome back and bid on them again. The key question is how we get the top dollar, have the buyers literally love the cattle, and want to buy again. We helped producers study the different industry niches and target their breeding and management programs. From experience we knew that our region had a reputation for cheap bulls and that was not going to work. We had to influence our producers to use better bulls and more targeted crossbreeding systems.

That led us to help the producers buy their bulls and design their breeding programs. We bought the best bulls for the money we could. The Leachman program was tailor made for our high desert production. We consumed lots of their black and red Angus and Stabilizer bulls.

The SProfit figure makes my job a lot simpler I love it. Im becoming more cognizant that the industry/breed rank of a bull or his traits tells me how much good the bull can do for my clients. I can foresee that soon the only premiums will be for cattle that have objective proof that they perform as represented.

I am convinced that Leachman is on to the right thing Feed Conversion. It is a Big Thing for efficiency of a rancher and his cows and for the feedlots and their fat cattle.

Our feeder calves sell at or near the top of

the market. The mid-west used to not like our cattle. Now often on Superior Video in our Winnemucca sale, we sell at the top of the nation, only behind Nebraska which has little freight. We have 7500 registered buyers. We can find the people who have the grass and the feed. Its pretty nice to have lots of people with their hands in the air, bidding competitively on your cattle. And they know the Leachman reputation and Hairpin brand. These high-desert-buckaroo outfits are pretty proud.

Breeding & Structural Soundness GuaranteeAll Leachman bulls sell with a structural soundness and breeding guarantee. The breeding guarantee is found in the Terms & Conditions

found on page 178. Since structural soundness is so critical to a bulls useful life, we also guarantee all bulls for structural issues related to the soundness of their hooves and legs. If your bull has such a problem within six months of purchase, contact us for a credit in a future sale. Upon confirmation with a veterinary inspection of the problem, we will issue a credit for the purchase price less salvage value. Note that this does not cover the bulls for injury see the Warranty below for such coverage.

Warranty-A-BullIn an effort to better serve our customers, we offer warranties on all of our bulls. These warranties cover all types of losses, rather than just

the death loss covered by normal insurance. If you have a warranty claim, we will replace the animal with one of equal quality or refund your purchase price. The Warranty-A-Bull is available in two levels: Basic or Extended. All SUS purchases must buy the Basic Warranty.

2% Basic Warranty-A-Bull required on SUS Delivered Bulls: The Basic Warranty-A-Bull covers the bull from the time of purchase un-til 14 days after the date of delivery to the purchaser. The Warranty guarantees that the bull will be sound and capable of breeding at the end of this time period, thus covering the bull while in the care of Leachman Cattle of Colorado as well as during the transportation process. The purchaser must contact LCoC immediately if there is a question as to the bulls soundness or survivability. This Basic Warranty costs 2% above the purchase price of the bull. Any bull(s) picked up at the Horton Research Facility in Wellington, CO will not be charged a Basic Warranty, un-less specifically requested by the purchaser.

Optional 7% Extended Warranty-A-Bull: An Extended Warranty-A-Bull is also available for purchase on any bull. The Extended Warranty guarantees that the bull will remain sound, fertile, and alive during the six-month period immediately after delivery. The cost of this Extended Warranty is 7% above the purchase price of the bull. The 14-day Basic Warranty is not necessary if the Extended Warranty is purchased.

Claims: A Leachman Warranty Claim Form filled out by a licensed veterinarian must accompany all Warranty claims. The Claim must be filed within fourteen days of the end of the warranty period. The warranty does not cover losses due to neglect or gross mismanagement. Bulls that are missing or unaccounted for cannot be claimed. In the instance of a fertility re-testing, the bull must weigh the same or more than his posted, adjusted yearling weight. If the bull falls short of this weight, then he must be re-conditioned to meet the weight and then be re-tested. Leachman Cattle of Colorado has the right to request a second veterinary exam at Leachman expense or to have the bull returned to our Horton Research Facility in Wellington, CO at Leachman expense. In any case, the salvage value of the bull is the property of Leachman if any such value exists. Leachman Cattle of Colorado must be contacted before any animal is destroyed or salvaged except in extreme cases where humane animal treatment requires immediate action. Failure to follow these procedures will make the warranty null and void.

Terms on Retained Interest Bulls All bulls in the catalog sell with a retained semen revenue interest, unless otherwise announced. Leachman Cattle of Colorado and the

cooperator that raised the bull will own this interest 25% each. We plan to sample a number of bulls in the sale and we will indicate such bulls in the catalog, or from the block. In order to do so, we will collect adequate semen to allow our use of the bull via AI, while you will have full possession of the bull. As always, we will attempt to accommodate the buyer regarding the delivery dates on these bulls. Buyers needing immediate possession on such bulls should visit with us prior to the sale to find out if we have already acquired adequate semen to release the bull immediately.

As sold in the sale, Leachman and the buyer each have the right to sell semen independently on any bull in the sale. The buyer may elect to purchase exclusive semen marketing rights on interest bulls buy paying 200% of the final bid price on the bull at the time of the sale. In the event that the buyer elects to purchase exclusive semen marketing rights, Leachman will still retain a within-herd interest right to use the bull within its own herd and within cooperator herds. This right will entitle Leachman to collect no more than the lesser of 1/3 of the semen the bull produces or 500 units per year.

High Altitude GuaranteeWith the bull sale here in Colorado, many potential customers have inquired about PAP testing. We have not tested the bulls. However, we

recognize the economic importance of this trait and do not wish to sell bulls that will not work for our customers. If you would like us to test a small selection in advance of the sale, contact our office and we will make every effort to accommodate you.

Given this, we are guaranteeing that all of our bulls will pass a PAP test. Notify us when you buy a bull that you intend to test. We will have Dr. Tim Holt screen the bull prior to delivery. If he tests too high, then you will not own him. You can then take the bull home, let him acclimate, and have him re-tested. If the bull fails, return him to us unbranded (please wait to brand your bulls until after they have passed your PAP test). We will give you a credit in our upcoming May 1st PAP tested sale. We currently have over 200 bulls in Laramie, WY where they are being tested at 7,200 feet.

Genetic Defect GuaranteeWhile genetic defects have been known in beef cattle for decades, recent trends towards stacking EPDs and consequently bloodlines have

made their occurrence more commonplace once again. In addition to the traditional defects such as dwarfism, the widespread presence of arthrogryposis multiplex (AM or curly calf) has heightened breeders awareness and concern over defects. A new abnormality, an extreme form of hydrocephalus has also been found in 10% of the Angus population including Future Direction and Analyst. At LCoC, we are commit-ted to eliminating defects from our population. As such, we have tested all current sires with parent carrier pedigrees for the AM, NH, and OS defect. Furthermore, we have tested all progeny of carrier sires. Carriers are so noted in the sale and sell without guarantee. We are offering to test any carrier pedigree animals for the AM, NH, or OS defects at our expense if so requested by the buyer to delivery. Beyond this, all cattle sell per the Terms & Conditions listed on the last page of the catalog.

CooperatorsWith two ownership changes in the last five years, we owe much to the group of cooperators that continues to stand by us. They are the strongest believers in our program. They also do the hard work on the ranch with calving, record keep-ing, and AI breeding. Get to know these top producers. BAU Pat Baugh (Angus) The Baugh herd is composed of a small group of Angus fe-males purchased from Dick Mott. Located outside of Tele-phone, TX, the herd is overseen by Brad Jones, former LCoC cooperator, who does all of the AI work. Clean up is done with high feed efficiency sires. Pat takes great care of her cows and is sure to produce some great herd sires.BBR Bath Bros Ranch, Randy Dunn (Stabilizers)The Bath Bros ranch was homesteaded in 1868 and Kelsy Dunn is the 7th generation working on the ranch. The ranch is located in the short, hard grass country of Laramie, WY at 7200 feet. Randy has raised commercial stabillizers for years but has just taken the Hairpin Elite Nucleus cows in to run for LCoC. These calves will be raised at altitude in some of the harshest conditions in the U.S. The Ranch is also home to one of the largest and pure herds of Blue Valentine and Driftwood horses.CRK Kathrein Charolais/HB Farms (Charolais) CRK is located in Little Falls, MN. Owned by the Kathreins.Clint,Roxane,Kaylee (15) &Kendra (13) Along with the three Holtz brothers and families Greg,John& Bennie. Only 20% of these A.I. calves are retained or sold for breeding stock. The other 80% are sold as high quality feeder calves. Their focus is on high per-formance, high carcass quality, moderate birth along with eye appeal. They Also milk 250 dairy cows along with a custom dairy heifer raising facility. CVR CVR Angus (Black Angus)CVR Angus operated by the Edwards family Lorne, Sherri, Laurin and Mike Edwards in the coastal hills of Northern California by the town of Bodega Bay. Most of Lornes bulls sell in the Top Line fall sale.DRN - Dar and Lynn Giess (South Devon)

Dar and Lynn Giess with son and daughter Lane and Leah own and operate DarLynn Cattle Company in Minnesota. They have both been in the cattle business all of their lives. Dar started with the Hereford breed and Lynn got her start in Charolais. DarLynn Cattle is one of the larger more progressive perfor-mance oriented South Devon herds in the US, that still has the eye appeal to compete and win at the NWSS. They have been sending bulls to the Midland bull test for several years. In Re-cent years Leachman Cattle has sampled a number of their herd sires to reintroduce the South Devon into the Stabilizer.GDW Grant and Renee Dewell (Angus)We came to know Grant and Renee at Leachman Cattle by working around them in various capaci-ties when they were working at the CSU Vet College. Grant, Renee and kids Caitlin, Nicole, and Nolan now live in Nevada, Iowa. The Dewell family got their start in the registered Angus business by pur-chasing Angus heifers from Leachman Cattle of Colorado. The Dewells focus on producing cattle with high profit potential, excellent dispositions and moderate frame size.GIL Bob Wilson and Joe Swindlehurst (Stabilizers)Gilbrea Farm is located in Hillsburgh, Ontario where they have a select herd of black and red Stabilizers and a few purebred Red Angus along with their hay and cropping operation. The cows calve in early fall. Data has been collected on this herd for many years through BIO. The cattle are noted for cooperative temperament at calving, ease of fleshing and udder structure.GRU - Chris & Vera Grubl (Stabilizer) Chris and Vera live near a sleepy little town in western South Dakota 11 months out of the year, but every August, Sturgis roars to life from the thun-der of literally thou-sands of motorcycles during the annual rally. Chris and Vera have long been involved with composite cattle going back to the Pioneer bred RX3 cattle. For the past 9 years their program has been focused on Stabilizers.

The cowherd has been made up predomi-nantly of Angus and Red Angus, but also has elite Simmental and Charolais donor females. The HEN herd has been striving for excellence based on $Profit and phenotype since LCoC developed $Profit and has recently had an additional focus on breeding for Stabilizer bulls. The cowherd goal is to be strictly of donor caliber females and is owned by Tim and Shirlene Watts. Tim and Shirlene Watts are based out of Billings, MT with the cattle being run predomi-nantly in Colorado. They have been cooperators with Leach-mans since the early 1990s. Tim owns Watts and Associates Inc. which develops agricultural risk management products interna-tionally. Shirlene owns Verified Beef which certifies added value attributes in feeder calves. KKN - Ken and Karen Knievel (Stabilizer)Ken and Karen Knievel are located in Windsor Colorado. After 50+ years of breeding commercial, crossbred cattle and 20 years of using composite bulls, the opportunity to select from the top cows of the Tessari Stabilizer dispersal became the foundation of our current herd. These females are being mated to the top $Profit Leachman sires to produce outstanding stabilizer breeding stock. We have wit-nessed the value of hy-bred vigor and superior genetics in our commercial herd for many years. Carrying on our cattle operation with these exceptional females is the next chapter for us.

LAM-Hiram Lambert (Stabilizer) Triple Creek Ranches are located in North Central Kansas and South Central Nebraska just south of Riverton, NE. The Lambert family started raising seed stock in 1978 with the purchase of some registered Angus females. In the fall of 2000 they purchased some Stabilizer Cows from the Leach-

man Cow Harvest Sale. Currently the Lamberts are raising both Angus and Stabilizer bulls for the Leachman system. LOH Michael Lohmann (Angus)The Lohmann cowherd, headquartered near Lecompton, Kansas, transitioned to registered Angus over 25 years ago. Becoming a Leachman Cooperator became a natural fit nearly 15 years ago as both programs were utilizing many of the same focused genet-ics. Michael handles all daily operations with Jeaniene, who additionally manages the books. Ben, who worked many years very closely with Lee and the Leachman program, handles all breeding and genetics decisions. Michaels youngest daughter Amanda is becoming more increasingly involved with all aspects. Like most cattle operations, Lohmann Angus is a family affair, both Bens and Amandas families are there to assist and give direction. Gramps couldnt do it without Bens kids Payton and Katelin, and Amandas son Cutter to be there to be on hand when the real work needs done. By always maintaining focus on the $Profit, Lohmann Angus has produced several high use, high $Profit herd sires for the Leachman program.MNB - Zach and Jake Meinders (Red Angus, Angus and Charolais)The Meinders run a small herd of purebred Angus, Red Angus, and Charolais cows in the river bot-toms of north central Iowa. They bought their first Leachman females in 2011 and are currently working on expanding their herd with superior genetics from multiple breeds. These sires rank among the 1% of the Simmental breed on the API Index.PRM Pete Mathews (Red Angus) Pete and Robin Mathews operate a Red Angus herd based in the rolling hills of Southwest Wisconsin near the town of Viola. The Mathews herd was founded some 21 years ago and is now comprised of 200 registered Red Angus cows. The Mathews family runs a feed yard, hay, and cash grain business in conjunc-tion with the cows. They know the value of profitable genetics. RGR Marc and Debbie Rieger (Stabilizer)Marc and Debbie Rieger are from Plevna, a little town on the eastern most edge of Montana. Plevna is short grass, short rain fall, open country where a cow has to really work to earn a living. Marc and Debbies seed stock roots date back to the RX3, one of the first composites in the industry, developed by Pioneer Beef in Iowa. Since joining our Cooperator team in 97 their herd has become a strong maternal Stabilizer base. RMP Rempe Farms, Jim & Ron RempeRempe Farms is a diversified operation located in South Cen-tral Nebraska near Superior. This Stabilizer herd has evolved through 3 family generations of genetic selection. Data collec-tion and using the latest technology are high priorities for the Rempes. All of their steers are fed at Decatur County Feed Yard, and the heifers get ultra-sounded. This means that every animal has carcass data turned into the system each year. Materially, all their cows have udder, disposition & phenotype scores, and are weighed annually. Rempe Farms has an extensive AI and ET program that is primarily focused on high $Profit Red Stabiliz-ers. Along with managing the breeding program for Rempe Farms, Sam Rempe also manages the Elite Semen Cooperative for LCoC.

RSM- Housh Angus, Gary and Bonnie Housh, A&T Cattle Co., Aaron and Tara Rasmussen Hay Springs, NETogether, the two firms run about 275 head of mother cows south of Hay Springs, NE on the Niobrara River. It is a family owned and operated seedstock/cow-calf enterprise and has been for 4 generations. Gary has been using A.I. since 1970 and has built a top-notch herd of maternal Angus cows that thrive in a minimum input/maximum output scenario. In 2001 Gary and Bonnies 3rd daughter, Tara, married Aaron Rasmussen. In 2003 Aaron and Tara began A&T Cattle Co. with a focus on solid red, polled shorthorn cattle. In 2006 a partnership was formed between Housh Angus and A&T Cattle Co., at which time began the production of Angus x Shorthorn composite cattle using the Housh Angus cow base and Shorthorn bulls from A&T as well as select A.I. sires. The genetics represented in the LCoC offer-ing from this firm are Angus x Shorthorn composites as well as progeny from LCoC Angus and Stabilizer bulls used on Short-horn x Angus females. The breeding objectives at Housh/A&T are simple- reasonable birthweights and mature size, maximum end-product value and females that work in any environment.RTH Scott Rittenhouse (Stabilizer)Scott, Sasha and daughter, Lara, live just outside of Springfield, Ohio. They started with pure-bred Gelbvieh cattle and began purchasing Leachman angus and stabilizer bulls several years ago to increase carcass qual-ity. With a large portion of the calves going to feedlots it is important the cattle performed well for the feeders. Today the focus of the cow herd is to maintain problem free cattle that will put dollars back into your wallet. S-M - Steve MIller (Stabilizers) Killean Station is located in the rolling hills outside Cambridge, Ontario. The herd consists of black and red Stabilizers that calve in the fall and work around the busy schedule of the owner - Dr. Steve Miller, who is a professor at the University of Guelph. Steve and his wife Charla are enjoying raising their 6 young children.SHG - Bob Shugert & Steve Harris (Angus and Stabilizer)Bob Shugert and Steve & Stephanie Harris live outside of Lore City, Ohio and are officially our eastern most Cooperators. Their large combined herd is comprised of mostly Angus and Angus Hybrids (Simmental and Gelbvieh) that find their way back into our Stabilizer program. Bob has been cooperat-ing with us since the fall of 98. The Shugert ranch, not far from the birthplace of Leland and Lester Leachman, is some of the best cow country in America.

SLC Shieldknight Land and Cattle Fred and Quentin Shieldknight (Red Angus)Shieldknight Land and Cattle is located in Spearman, Texas, in the Northern Texas Panhanlde. The Shieldknight Family has been involved in the farming, ranching, and grain elevator busi-ness for over 50 years. Fred is a 3rd generation farmer/rancher and Quentin is now the 4th generation to be a part of the family business. Shieldknight Land and Cattle first came to LCoC and purchased a set of $12,000 $Profit Stabilizer bulls. Then, they decided to start an elite herd of Red Angus. SLC is excited to join the team of Leachman Cattle Cooperators.SPA Sioux Pass Angus, Carter Miklovich (Angus)Carter Miklovich and his family ranch outside of Lodge Grass, MT. Sioux Pass was once a one-time cooperator for Leachman Cattle in Billings, and we are glad to have them back again. The herd has run a number of famous herd sires to breed their cows including: Leachman New Standard, Hoover Dam, and Cre-dence. The cows run under range conditions a check to make sure that their Angus genetics work in the real world.STG JST Angus (Red Angus and Stabilizers)JST Angus is located near Colusa, California and is owned and operated by Alfred Stegall and family, daughters Jodi, Shelby and son Todd. The Stegalls started their Red Angus registered herd 15 years ago as a 4-H project. Their herd excels across the board especially in carcass traits.STN - Bruce and Laura Staton (Stabilizers)Bruce and Laura Staton live in Magazine, Arkansas. Bruce and Laura started using Leachman Angus bulls in 2005. A few years later bought some Leachman females and AId them to the top bulls available, producing black stabilizers. Bruce has been an LCoC Bull Buyer Representative for several years and is now on the LCoC Semen Division sales team. Bruce helped start the annual Arkansas LCoC bull sale and has been a big help getting our genetics roll-ing in that part of the country.EEC -Emerald Earth Cattle Co. (Red Angus) Emerald Earth Cattle Com-pany of Platteville, Wisconsin is owned and operated by Gina and Joe Jewison. As we build and develop our young cow herd we are striving to produce moderately framed, structurally sound Red Angus cattle. Our breeding program emphasizes low birth weights and calving ease, while still providing good growth, carcass and temperament. Currently we are in the process of testing and analyzing our entire herd for

feed efficiency. The results so far have been very useful in our quest to produce animals with exceptional feed efficiency.TPL Top Line Cattle (Black Angus, Red Angus)Top Line is a partnership owned by Mike Browning and Family. Top Line has been in the Red Angus business in California for over ten years. In the spring of 2006, Top Line agreed to purchase the entire Mott Angus herd. They are now one of the most significant Angus breeders in the country especially for the traits that we think are important! Leachman hosts a west coast sale of Top Line bulls each September at 101 Livestock Auction in Aromas California.TRN - Leland and Karen Turner (Red Angus) Leland and Karen Turner have built a herd of high maternal Red Angus cattle outside of Gillette, Wyoming. Their harsh range conditions dictate that they calve later than average. Because of this, most of their cattle sell Private Treaty later in the spring and fall.WIL Canterbury Farms (Angus & Stabilizer)Canterbury farm is a first generation family farm, operated by Andrew Wilson, his wife and three children, located 30 minutes west of Toronto Canada. It is comprised of a 40,000 small square bale hay operation (which are all sold to local race horse stables) and a 100 head Angus & Stabilizer based cow herd. All replacement heifers have been ultrasounded since 2007. We utilize ET and implant about 75 embryos per year. Our cows have to be able to utilize lesser quality forages and produce high quality calves. The way we raise our cattle we are confident that they will walk into any type of environment and perform.WLF Wolfinger Farms (Stabilizer)Wolfinger Farms is a third generation farm that is run by Robert, Jake and Andy Wolfinger. They are farmer/feeders and a cow/calf operators located in Lancaster, Ohio. Four years ago they found Leachman genetics to be superior in their feedlot. They then began intensively using the Leachman crossbreeding program to maximize feedlot performance while at the same time maintaining a maternal cow herd to produce top quality Leach-man genetics.
