Who wants to scare their child with thoughts of fire, break-ins, or other dangers? Remember to keep instructions simple and age-appropriate, with empowering roles for children in managing their own safety at home. A great place to start is by teaching your children how to dial 9-1-1. Be sure to show younger children how to access the security screen on a cell phone that allows them to call 911 without unlocking the phone. LENT •AshWednesday-February17th:Because of Coronavirus Pan-demic: The Priests and Deacons will sprinkle the ashes on top of the head of each person without saying any-thing.• We begin our Lenten journey with Ash Wednesday. We receive the ash-es as a sign of our conversion and willingness to renew our relationship with God and with those around us.

Our church services will be:o 8:00 AM Spanish Mass, o Following with Spanish Liturgy of the Word every 30 minutes or as needed.o 10:00 AM English Mass for School Families and English Speakingo Following with Spanish Liturgy of the Word every 30 minutes or as needed.o Ending with Spanish Mass at 7 PM.• Fasting: we are to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday: The norms are obligatory from ages 18 until age 59. When fasting, a per-son is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that to-gether are not equal to a full meal. • Abstinence: We are to abstain from eating meat on Ash Wednes-day, Fridays during Lent & Good Fri-day: The norms are obligatory from age 14 onwards.

Reflection: Lent is not only about abstaining from eat-ing or from doing what one likes. It is also about improving our relation-ships with God and with those who surround us.
