Diesel engineThe heavy duty, water-cooled, turbo-charged and after-cooled Cummins Diesel engine delivers superior powerand high power reserves. Its low operating speedresults in lower fuel consumption, reduced emissionsand an extended engine life. The enclosed engine com-partment is easily accessible through full sized, easy toopen doors and permits walk in access to all compo-nents for easy service.

Litronic-SystemThe electronic engine-speed-sensing pump regulationallows full utilization of the engines available output,independent from external influences. The variabledisplacement axial piston pumps are fitted with anelectro-hydraulic regulator which reacts in fractions ofa second to the changing requirements of power or

speed.Flow compensation reduces pump flow to a minimumwhen joystick levers a re in neutral, avoiding excessheat and energy loss. The same effect is achieved withpressure compensation which minimizes pump flowprior to reaching maximum operating pressure. Anautomatic oil flow optimizer assures efficient powerdistribution to each individual function.The operators comfort and efficiency is enhanced bythe LED displa y an d monitoring system. It monitors allvital machine funct ions and includ es a variety of a uto-matic safety features. The Litronic system offers exten-sive customer benefits, such as improved efficiency,reduced fuel consumption and overall economy.

UndercarriageAn overa ll low center of g ravity for the machine isachieved through favorable weight distribution of themachines undercarriage, upper structure and attach-ment. This low center of gravity, combined with a wideundercarriage base, provides excellent stability forsmooth, precise work and efficient transmission of thehigh dig and breakout forces. It also increase the lifeexpectancy of undercarriage components. Standardbolt- on t rack chain guides on each side frame protectand improve the life expectancy of track components.The two side frames are removable for easy transporta-tion. Carbody a nd side frames are connected with a uni-que hook and key design, which shortens and simpli-fies assembly.

CabThe raised, spacious and comfortable cab featuresoversized, tinted windows and offers an excellent viewof the trucks being loaded and general all-around visi-bility. The comforta ble, air suspended and shock ab-sorbed seat is adjustable to each individual operatorssize and weight. An air conditioner, integrated into thecab roof, is standard and increases operator comforteven in the most adverse conditions. A falling objectprotective structure (FOPS) is integrated into the roof.The control and instrument panel is within easy view ofthe operat or. Service and control indicators, combin ed

in a display screen, conveniently and continuouslyinforms the operator, via symbols, of all machine func-tions. Eff ortless and precise joystick levers a re com-fortably integrated into the seat console.

AttachmentsStrict use of fine grain alloy steel plates, true hollowbox struc tures and large size cast steel components inhigh stress areas result in strong attachments withhigh availability and long life expectancy. Widely spacedpivots in the attachment allow the use of two short,large diameter, hardened and chromed pins and low

wear, high alloy steel bushing s. Completely sealed ,

floating pins and bushings increase lubrication inter-vals and attachmen t a vailability.Shovel and backhoe buckets are especially strong andwear resistant. The optimized bucke t shape achieves afaster and higher degree of fill. A number of differentlength sticks, booms and various size buckets allow themachine to be tailored to all types of materials andapplications.

Swing DriveSwing acceleration of the upper carriage is accom-plished via an axial piston motor flanged to a Liebherrplanetary reduction gear. The swing pump and swingmotors are linked in an independent closed-loopcircuit. This system produces high swing torque, fastswing accelerations and deceleration, requires lesspower and shortens cycle times.The high swing torque created by the Liebherr plane-tary reduction gear, is transmitted to the Liebherrswing ring which features internal teeth for maximumprotection from external damage and contamination.The swing operation is independent from all othertravel and att achment functions.
