LTE at a glance
LTE is an All-IP-Network (Data only, Voice is „just one“ Applikation)
some key figures from the standards ...
- Frequency Bands 800MHz (EDD), 1800MHz and 2600MHz (in Germany / Europe)
- Channel Bandwidth up to 20Mhz and multiple antenna technology (MIMO)
- Data rates on Application layer
up to more than 100Mbps (in Downlink) already now
- Latency end to end
of less than 20ms end to end
LTE starts where W-CDMA ends and LTE Advanced will even improve these figures

Mobile Gaming
Customer opportunity / business challengeWireless operators are always looking for new ways to generate revenue and the
adoption of its services by growing the number of end-users. By making fast, anytime,
wireless broadband available such as LTE, Mobile Gaming will become more mainstream
because the inherent high bandwidth and low latency required for a true gaming
experience.
Gaming will be a key application. LTE enables networked and social games to break
from the current mobile form factor to allow for much higher quality games (for
example high quality gaming in a car). Customers can see how NG Connect is relevant
to the development and monetization of LTE-base service offerings.

Digital Signage
Business value for our customers
Provides higher value to advertisers – instant update of content on digital signage
LTE connected digital signs can support Video in remote locations not connected via broadband
Reduces cost of deployment for digital sign advertisers and providers
Customer opportunity / business challenge
ngConnect is a program designed to drive the end-user applications and infrastructure
for LTE mobile applications. Digital Signage will be a key application.
LTE enables networked and social advertisements to break from the current form factor
to allow for much higher quality and dynamic experience. Customers can see how
ngConnect is relevant to the development and monetization of LTE-based service
offerings.

Human Kiosk
Business value for our customers
Puts “product experts” directly in front of consumers
Answers to consumer questions are available on-demand “instantly”
Consumer can choose whom they wish to talk to, including by language
Product expertise can be delivered/provided much more cost effectively
Product knowledge/introductions can be delivered much faster

Deploy virtually anywhere: this is an out of the box, plug and play solution that simply requires a power outlet; no on-site network is
required to deploy
Eliminates costs and complexities: no on-site IT networking infrastructure, setup, configuration or ongoing support or maintenance
is required.
Rich Media and Video: with 4G/LTE bandwidth and persistent connection, high-definition digital content and 2-way video
Faster, more flexible deployments: as local configuration changes, such as store layout or branch reconfiguration,
Highly secure: using the 4G/LTE wireless network eliminates any
chance of unauthorized access or use of on-site mission critical
network

LTE Connected Camera
Target market / target customers
Professional photographers/agencies (journalist, paparazzo, etc)
First responders
Insurance adjusters, Real estate agents, etc.
Customer opportunity / business challenge
Limited bandwidth in 3G networks makes large file size of professional cameras (5-20MB)
slow and expensive to upload while mobile.
Leveraging LTE directly in the camera with a powerful cloud based application allows
fast, secure upload from anywhere and “on the fly” processing and distribution of
photographic assets, metadata and location information/shooting notes

Extract from an AUDI Press release on 06.01.2011
The ngConnect LTE Connected Car was launched a year ago ….
