Installation

Handset cordConnect the long end of the handset cord inthe socket marked with the symbol(position 11). Insert the cord in the cableline (position 15) and attach the short endto the handset.

Line cordConnect the line cord in the socket markedwith the symbol (position 12). Insert thecord in the cable line (position 16), to up ordown direction, according to the telephoneposition. Attach the other end to the

telephone line (RJ11 modular jackconnector).

Dialing mode switchSet this switch (position 14) according tothe desired dialing mode: PULSE (P) orTONE (T1 for 100 ms flash time or T2 for250 ms or 600 ms flash time, depending onthe telephone model). For more details,please see Setting the dialing mode onpage 2.

Key LockIn case of you have purchased the modelwith the key lock feature (position 17), thepackage will include two keys to be usedwith the telephone. When locking yourtelephone, you disable all the keysfunctionalities; therefore you can avoid theuse of the telephone for undesired calls.

Wall-Mount installationTo install the telephone on wall, use the twoholes localized on underside of thetelephone (position 13) to case the screws.Make the holes on the wall with a 6 mm drill

bit, using the template (marks ) providedon page 12 of this manual as a reference(bushings and screws are not included).Besides, use a screwdriver to snap out thehandset clip (position 18), as show in detail

Recommendations for Installation

Please, observe the following guidelines:

For your own safety and protection, donot uses the telephone in places withoverheat or extreme humidity. Thetelephone operates at temperaturesbetween +5C and +55C and it is notwater-proof.

Varnished or lacquered furniture may bemarked by some parts of the telephonesuch as the rubber feet.

Place the telephone at least one meteraway from devices such as cordless

telephones or TV sets. These devicesmay cause interference in the telephone.

To clean the telephone, just use a dampor antistatic cloth. Never use a dry cloth(danger of electrostatic discharge) or anyabrasive cleaning products.

When the telephone reaches its end ofservice life, dispose of it in a way thatdoes not cause any harm to theenvironment, in accordance with the locallegal requirements.

Setting the dialing mode (tone/pulse)

Your telephone must be programmed forTONE dialing or PULSE dialing, accordingto the telephone line it is connected to. Thedefault factory setting is the TONE dialingmode with the T2 flashtime option.

Checking the dialing mode:Press any numeric key. If you can still heara dialing tone, change to the other dialingmode.

Switching the dialing mode:The switch located on the bottom of thetelephone allows you to do three settings:

P PULSET1 TONE flash 100 msT2 TONE flash 250 ms or 600 ms (*)

(*) depends on the model of your telephone

Temporary changeover of dialing mode:While the telephone is set to PULSE dialingit may be necessary to temporarily changethe dialing mode to TONE dialing.

Example: You wish to check yourbanking balance using the telebankservice. Make the call as you usuallywould and, as soon as the call iscomplete, press ; at this moment yourtelephone dialing mode will change toTONE dialing. When you finished the

call, just hang up and the dialing modewill automatically turn back to PULSEdialing.

FLASH Key (Special Services)

The FLASH key allows you to accessspecific special services (follow-me, callwaiting, conference, etc.), as long as yourtelephone is connected on a digital centraloffice or on a PBX system.

Setting the ringer volume and melody

This telephone offers three melodies andthree different ringer volumes.

REDIAL Key

In order to redial the last dialed number,press the REDIAL key . If the last dialednumber contained more than 31 digits, theREDIAL function will not work.

MUTE Key

During a call, when you press the MUTE

key , the microphone is switched off andthe other party cannot listen to you.However, you will still be able to listen tothe other party. To switch on the

conversation, press the MUTE keyagain.

PAUSE Key

This key may be used when the telephoneis connected on a PBX system; it inserts apause of approximately 3,6 secondsbetween the digits. It works after pressingor entering the first digit, when pressing thePAUSE key . These pauses can bestored in the one-touch memories, two-touch memories and in the REDIAL key .

Storing phone numbers in memories

The telephone has 14 memories: 10 two-touch memories, accessed by the MEM key

and 4 one-touch memories (indicated as2 on page 1). All these memories may storeup to 21 digits each one.

Note: A phone number wont be stored in the

memories if it is longer than 21 digits.

You can erase a stored phone number ina specific memory by restoring anotherphone number in it.

The keys and are storedindependent of the used dialing mode,but they only have effect on the TONEdialing mode.

It is possible to store an external phonenumber in one of the one-touch or two-touch memories, when the telephone isconnected on a PBX system. Just insertbefore the phone number that will bestored, the access code for external linefollowed by a pause (press the PAUSE

key).

Instalacin

Conexin del cordn extensible delmicrotelfonoEnchufe el conector con el extremo largo yrecto en la hembrilla marcada con elsmbolo (indicador 11). Enchufe elextremo corto en el microtelfono. Tiendael cable por el conducto (indicador 15) quehay en el fondo del aparato.

Conexin del cable de lneaEnchufar un extremo en la hembrilla con elsmbolo (indicador 12).El otro extremodebe ser enchufado en la toma telefnica

(RJ11). Tienda el cable por uno de losconductos (indicador 16) que hay en elfondo del aparato.

Seleccin del modo de marcacinEl conmutador (indicador 14) permiteseleccionar el modo de marcacin porpulsos (P) o por tonos (T1 para flash 100ms o T2 para flash 250 ms o 600 ms,dependiendo del modelo del telfono). Paradetalles vea por favor el tem "Ajustandoel modo de marcacin" en la pgina 6.

Bloqueo de llamadasSi usted compr la versin con llave debloqueo (indicador 17), el embalajecontiene dos llaves que se puede utilizarpara bloquear el teclado del aparato. Albloquear el telfono, las teclas serninhibidas, evitando que el aparato seausado de modo indebido.

Montaje en ParedPara montar el telfono en la pared, losagujeros deben ser hechos con broca de 6mm (tornillos no incluidos). Utilice la marca

de la pgina 12 de este manual comoreferencia para hacer los agujeros en lapared. Los tornillos se encajan en lasaberturas (indicador 13). Adems la pieza(indicador 18) debe ser desprendida de la

base (de acuerdo con el detalle A) yencajarse en la posicin indicada en elindicador 10 (de acuerdo con el detalle B),para que el microtelfono no caiga.

Informaciones Generales

Observe las siguientes indicaciones:

Por su seguridad y proteccin, lerecomendamos no utilizar el equipo enhabitaciones hmedas, pues el mismo noes resistente a salpicaduras de agua. Serecomienda utilizar el aparato atemperaturas comprendidas entre +5C y+55C.

Algunas partes del aparato (p.ej., laspatas) pueden dejar huellas en losmuebles laqueados o pulidos.

Para no perturbar el trfico telefnico, seaconseja guardar una distancia mnimade 1 metro entre el telfono y cualquierotro equipo de radiotelefona (p.ej.,telfono mvil, buscapersonas otelevisor).

Limpie el aparato nicamente con unpao hmedo o antiesttico. No utilicenunca paos secos (peligro dedescargas electroestticas) nidetergentes agresivos.

Al finalizar su vida til, elimine el telfono

respetando las normas de proteccin delmedio ambiente.

Ajustando el modo de marcacin(tono/pulso)

Dependiendo del procedimiento deseleccin de su operadora, puede sernecesario ajustar en el aparato elprocedimiento TONO (seleccin pormultifrecuencia) o PULSO (seleccin porimpulsos). En el estado de suministro, elaparato tiene ajustado el procedimiento deseleccin por multifrecuencia con la opcinde flash T2 (multifrecuencial).

Modo de Comprobacin:Marque cualquier dgito. Si se sigueoyendo la seal de marcar, habr queajustar el otro procedimiento de seleccincon el conmutador respectivo.

Ajustar el procedimiento de seleccin:El conmutador situado en el fondo delaparato permite tres posiciones:

P PULSO (seleccin por impulsos)T1 TONO flash 100 msT2 TONO flash 250 ms o 600 ms (*)

Conmutacin temporaria del modo demarcacin:Si el telfono se encuentra en el modoPULSO, puede ser necesaria unaconmutacin temporal del modo demarcacin para TONO.

Ejemplo: Usted desea consultar su saldobancario por telebanco. Llamenormalmente y cuando la llamada escompletada, presione la tecla ; en estemomento su telfono pasa a operar en elmodo TONO. Al colgar el modo demarcacin volver automticamente paraPULSO.

Tecla FLASH (Servicios especiales)

La tecla FLASH permite el acceso adeterminados servicios especiales(transferencia de llamada, llamada enespera, desvo de llamada, entre otros),estando el telfono conectado a una centraltelefnica pblica digital o tipo PABX.

Ajuste del volumen y meloda

Este telfono posee tres melodas y tresvolmenes distintos.

Ajuste:

Descolgar el microtelfonoPresionar la tecla MUDO

Presionar la tecla

:Presionar una de las teclas ( a )conforme volumen/meloda deseado

Tecla REDISCADO

Para remarcar el nmero de la ltimallamada, presionar la tecla REDISCADO

. Si un nmero con ms de 31 dgitos esmarcado, la funcin REDISCADO nofuncionar.

Tecla MUDO

Durante una llamada, al presionar la tecla

MUDO , el microtelfono desconectar latransmisin de voz y la persona con quienusted est hablando no podr escucharle.Sin embargo, usted podr escuchar su

interlocutor normalmente. Para activar laconversacin, presione la tecla MUDOnuevamente.

Tecla PAUSA

Puede ser utilizada cuando el telfono estconectado a un PABX, insertando untiempo entre los dgitos deaproximadamente 3,6 segundos. Funcionadespus del primer dgito, presionando latecla PAUSA . Estas pausas pueden serprogramadas en las memorias directas e

indirectas y en la tecla REDISCADO .

Almacenando nmeros en las memorias

El telfono posee 14 memorias: 10

indirectas, a travs de la tecla MEM y 4directas (indicador 2 en la pgina 5). Todaslas memorias pueden tener, como mximo,21 dgitos cada una.

Es posible borrar un nmero almacenadoen una memoria especfica,almacenando nuevamente.

Las teclas y son memorizadas

independientemente del tipo demarcacin, sin embargo, funcionansolamente en el modo TONO.

Es posible almacenar un nmero externoen una de las memorias directas oindirectas, cuando el telfono estconectado a un PABX. Para esto bastainserir el cdigo de acceso a lneaexterna, seguido de una pausa

(presionar la tecla PAUSA ) antes delnmero externo deseado.

Garanta (Vlida para Argentina)

Siemens S.A. de Argentina, importador o fabricante y distribuidor exclusivo, garantiza el buen funcionamiento deeste equipo por el perodo de 12 (doce) meses a partir de la fecha de compra. En el caso de pilas o bateras el

perodo de garanta es de 6 (seis) meses a partir de la fecha de compra.
