The following is an excerpt from the Study and Examination Regulation of the Programme“Energy Management”, MBA, of Technische Universität Berlin of January 21st 2015.

The programme is structured in compulsory and optional compulsory modules, whichare complementing each other bottom-up. The order of the modules is shown in theexample schedule [figure 1].

Achievements totalling to 90 credit points are to be gathered; 72 CP in modules and 18CP in the master thesis.

In the compulsory part, 7 modules totalling 62 CP must be completed, and in thecompulsory optional part 1 module of 10 CP. [...]

Excursions in the first two terms and the selection of lecturers assure the required link tothe practice.

Unless otherwise announced, lectures, tutorials, consultancy and peer group meetingstake place at House 9, EUREF-Campus, 10829 Berlin, Germany, room S5. Studentscan access this room during regular office hours for peer groups and individual study forthe preparation and revision of lectures and tutorials (figure 2).

Lectures

Lectures are held by professors and academic staff of TU Berlin and other universities,and by professionals of the energy industry. They convey the core teachings. Groupwork is frequent. Homework may be assigned. Lectures start sin tempore, i.e. sharp.

Tutorials are mostly held by research associates and assistants of the respective chairs.Of a generally more interactive nature, they repeat lecture material, supply supportiveinformation, offer additional training, and help prepare for lectures and tasks.

In the summer term at specific times orin the form all-day events where the classtavels to sites of interest.

Companies are invited to present themselves and selected busienss cases to the class(visitations), or the class is invited to excursions to production sites, conference facilities,and other similar company premises. These visitations and excurions constitute anintegral part of the modules.

MBA ENERGY MANAGEMENT Overview

E-Learning Platform ‘Moodle’ and Internet

TU runs an online learning platform called MOODLE. It is the official channel for an-nouncements, for the distribution of material, for registration to events, etc. Studentsmust log on frequently, even in lecture free times.

We provide wireless Internet for all students and lecturers. TU Berlin’s various IT servicescan be used by all participants.

Exams

A written exam, paper, presentation, or portfolio concludes each module. Everythingthat was dealt with in the lectures, tutorials, and compulsory excursions within themodule may be subject to examination. Exams start sin tempore, i.e. sharp. A failedexamination may be repeated twice. For further details, please refer to the official Studyand Examination Regulation.
