Finding the ideal writing position and nibEvery nib made by Montblanc is crafted and polished by hand. By

turning the writing instrument, you can find the writing position that is

best for you. Choose from eight different nib widths to find the one

that matches your writing style, allowing your writing to flow effort-

lessly, resulting in highly attractive handwriting. Your Montblanc Service

will be glad to provide a different nib free of charge within 6 weeks if

the original nib has not been used.

Cleaning.a) General information.

Cleaning approximately every 3 months. Especially if the ink has dried

up due to lack of use, the feed system is blocked, a different colour of

ink is to be used, or the flow of ink becomes intermittent or stops.

Cleaning should take place using warm, clean water without additives

of any kind. Important: Use only Montblanc fountain pen ink. To

avoid leakage, keep the pen freshly filled with ink. Carry with nib

pointing upwards. It is impossible to prevent condensation forming

inside the cap. This condensation can dissolve traces of dried ink,

causing the condensation to change colour. Therefore always be

careful to clean the nib and cap with a lint-free, damp cloth.

Materials and care of the pearls

Your writing instrument is manufactured from the distinctive Montblanc

resin, a material which compares with fine porcelain in its resistance

to scratching, its noble sheen and its lasting beauty. Please treat it

accordingly, to protect it from breakage and damage.

The pearls which adorn some Montblanc writing instruments have

great character, but demand special attention. In comparison to pre-

cious stones, pearls are relatively soft. Please keep your pearl decorated

writing instrument separate from hard objects, and avoid heat and

aggressive cleaning agents. A soft cloth, moistened with water, is all

you need for cleaning.

Materialhandhabung und Pflege der Perlen

Ihr Schreibgerät ist aus dem charakteristischen Montblanc Edelharz ge-

fertigt. Einem Material, das in Kratzfestigkeit, edlem Glanz und bestän-

diger Schönheit feinem Porzellan gleicht. Behandeln Sie es bitte eben-

so sorgsam, um es vor Beschädigungen oder Zerbrechen zu schützen.

Die Perlen, die einige Montblanc-Schreibgeräte veredeln, sind von

großer Ausstrahlung, verlangen jedoch besondere Aufmerksamkeit.

Perlen sind im Vergleich zu Edelsteinen relativ weich. Bewahren Sie

also Ihr perlenbestücktes Schreibgerät getrennt von harten Gegen-

ständen auf, und meiden Sie Hitze und scharfe Pflegemittel. Zur Reini-

gung genügt ein mit Wasser befeuchtetes, weiches Tuch.

and flawless operation. Nevertheless, should your Montblanc product

prove defective, please contact one of the Montblanc service centres

located around the world; only the aforesaid are authorised to provide

guarantee service as defined in this Montblanc International

Guarantee. In order to benefit from this guarantee you will be required

to present this Montblanc International Guarantee certificate duly

completed, dated, stamped and signed by an authorised Montblanc

dealer. This Montblanc International Guarantee covers defects of

materials or workmanship of your Montblanc product. Montblanc will

remedy these identified defects free of charge for up to two (2) years

from the date of purchase. Thereafter, Montblanc will repair any

defective product or part subject to a service charge. The Montblanc

International Guarantee does not cover defects and damage caused by

accident, improper use, normal wear and tear, alteration, dismantling

or repair by persons other than authorised Montblanc repair specialists

or the use of components or accessories (such as bottled ink or

cartridges) other than those produced or recommended by Montblanc.

The Montblanc Inter national Guarantee also excludes writing instru-

ments with the clip ring number removed. This guarantee gives you

specific legal rights; you may also have additional rights that vary from

country to country.

U.S. Limited Warranty.Each Montblanc Product is meticulously crafted from only the finest

materials and subjected to the strictest quality controls. The consum-

mate workmanship and flawless functioning are guaranteed by

Montblanc. However if any imperfections to workmanship or material

should appear within two years after the date of purchase Montblanc

Inc. will repair or replace the defective part or item absolutely free of

charge. Thereafter, Montblanc Inc. will repair any defective part or item

subject to a service charge. The product must be returned to Montblanc

Northamerica, Fort Worth/Dallas, TX, Ph.: 800-995-4810, together with

a brief description of the problem and insured for its full value. In order

to benefit from this warranty, you will be required to provide this

Warranty Certificate, duly completed, dated, signed and stamped by a

Montblanc Authorized Retailer, or another proof of purchase from an

authorized retailer with the returned product. Montblanc Inc. will com-

plete any required repairs and return the instrument within four weeks

after receipt of the instrument by Montblanc Inc. This warranty does

not apply to damage resulting from accident, improper service or

repair by anyone other than Montblanc Inc. or to products which have

had their identification numbers removed or have been otherwise

defaced or altered. The use of non-Montblanc writing instrument

accessories (bottled ink, cartridge etc.) may cause to invalidate the
