recycled + renewable Recycling material has always been important to us. As early as 15 years ago, we made bags made of bicycle tyres, followed by air bags, coffee sacks, airplane seats ... Today we have whole series in the standard range – made from recycled PET bottles and recycled cotton.

Was haben gebrauchte PET- Flaschen mit Werbetaschen zu tun? Und warum engagiert sich HALFAR® für Insekten?

Ganz einfach, weil wir uns als einen Teil der Gesellschaft ver- stehen. Wir wollen, bei allem, was wir tun, soziale, ökologische und wirtschaftliche Aspekte miteinander in Einklang bringen. Seit unserer Gründung sind wir überzeugt, dass man das Gute immer noch ein wenig besser machen kann. Ob neue Materialien oder unternehmerische Prozesse: Wir sind auf dem Weg.

Wir achten auf unbedenkliche Inhaltsstoffe, fachgerechte Verarbeitung und Design- qualität. Denn was gut gemacht ist und gut aussieht, wird länger genutzt und schadet der Umwelt weniger.

Das alles machen wir bereits. Dabei sind unsere neuesten Materialien eigentlich gebrauchte: wie das rPET, das aus Kunststoffflaschen gewonnen wird. Mit der pre-recycelten Baumwolle setzen wir sogar noch einen Schritt früher ein, bei Schnitt- resten aus der Produktion. Diese Materialien helfen, Ressourcen zu sparen.

We are already doing all of that. Our latest materials are actually used ones: like the rPET, which is made from plastic bottles. With pre-recycled cotton, we even start one step earlier with offcuts from production. These materials help to save resources.

What do used PET bottles have to do with promotional bags? And why is HALFAR® dedicated to insects?

Quite simply because we see ourselves as part of society. We want to reconcile social, environmental and economic aspects in everything we do. Since our foundation, we have been convinced that you can still make the good a little better. Whether with new materials or business processes: we are well on the way.

Als Familienunternehmen leben wir Mitarbeiterförderung, Inklusion und Integration.Darum haben wir 2019 wieder den Branchenpreis „Sustainability Award“ für „Social Excellence“ gewonnen. Auch an den Fertigungs- stätten achten wir auf die Einhaltung sozialer Standards. Dafür sind wir bereits seit 2009 amfori BSCI Mitglied.

Holzpellet-Heizung, Photovoltaik, Gründach, Ökostrom, E-Bikes, E-Dienstauto: Vieles trägt dazu bei, dass wir am Stammsitz in Bielefeld bereits seit 2017 komplett CO2-frei arbeiten. Auch unsere Transporte sind rechnerisch CO2-neutral – die Emissionen kompensieren wir durch verschiedene Maßnahmen.

Wir bringen Logos auf Taschen – da sind Qualität und Schnel- ligkeit wichtig. Mit innovativen Veredelungen wie HALFAR FAST LANE® schaffen wir beides und Nachhaltigkeit dazu: dank Druck in Fotoqualität. Mit Tinten frei von Lösungsmitteln und Schwermetallen und dank energieeffizienter Trocknung.

Unsere blühenden Gründächer und Magerwiesen sind für uns ein echtes Herzensprojekt. Damit schaffen wir neue Lebensräume für Insekten und bedrohte Arten, etwa für und mit der Initiative „Insect Respect“.

As a family business, we practice employee development, inclusion and integration. That’s why we won the industry award “Sustainability Award” for “Social Excellence” in 2019. At the production sites, we also pay attention to compliance with social standards. We have been an amfori BSCI member since 2009.

We put logos on bags – so quality and speed are important. With the innovative decoration such as the HALFAR FAST LANE® we achieve both, and sustainability as well: thanks to printing in photo quality, with inks free of solvents and heavy metals and thanks to energy-efficient drying.

Our blooming green roofs and rough meadows are a project really close to our hearts. This will create new habitats for insects and endangered species, for example for and with the “Insect Respect” initiative.

diesem Jahr mit pre-recycled Cotton und rPET fündig ge-

schen, die zu Gewebe weiterverarbeitet werden. PVCfree Außerdem sagen wir im gesamten Sortiment lang-

In our search, we have been successful with pre-recycled cotton and rPET this year. Both use waste for something new: cotton offcuts from bag production or PET bottles, which are processed into fabric. Furthermore, we are slowly saying goodbye to PVC in the entire range – 100 % of our innovations manage without.
