du biSt mitglied im makerlab. kann man daS So Sagen? mitglied?

jörg: Wir sind alle, die wir hier ar-beiten, mitglieder des makerlab. also, ich bin vom Zaungast zum maker geworden. Wir sind als inter-institut hier und haben eigentlich mit der maker-Szene vorher nichts zu tun gehabt. Wir wissen natür-lich, was die für aktionen starten. mit den makers verbinden wir, dass wir schon viele aktionen gesehen haben, auch hier beim dmY. das sorgt hier für den “special input” menschenrechte. Zusammen mit unserem auftraggeber entwickeln wir mit den makern zusammen eine anwendung des human rights logos. als die aufgabe kam, dachten wir, dass die makers die perfekte umgebung sind, um so ein projekt zu starten. Wie sich hier im laufe der letzten vier tage herausgestellt hat, war das auch die richtige Wahl. darum ging es eigentlich: das logo soll aus dem aseptischen logohimmel heraus-geholt werden und den menschen in die hände gegeben werden und wo kann das besser passieren als bei den makern? Was wir hier se-hen ist eine aneignung des logos von jedem einzelnen besucher. jeder hinterlässt höchstpersönli-che Spuren im logo, mit dem logo. damit hat sich auch gezeigt, dass dieses logo sehr dehnbar ist.

haSt du dieSen Verlauf deS experimentS erWartet?

jörg: der Verve dieses prozes-ses, den habe ich schon erwartet.

das war schon bekannt durch die ganzen anderen maker aktionen. ich denke nur, dass es bei diesem makerlab noch brisanter war, als die maker sonst auftreten. Sie haben eine gewisse nähe zu den inhalten der menschenrechte, vor allen dingen mit ihrer konsumkri-tik, verschiedenen Verfahren, do-it-yourself. Wir wussten in welche richtung sie gehen und dachten uns, das passt super mit dem human rights logo zusammen.ich glaube auch, dass wir dem makerlab durch den rahmen der menschenrechte auch viel geben konnten. ich denke mir heraus-nehmen zu dürfen, dass die mak-ers fokussierter eine eigene iden-tität entwickeln konnten. die sie natürlich schon haben, die sie aber herausstellen konnten: hier geht’s an’s eingemachte, hier wird design politisch.

Wie Wird’S Weiter gehen?

jörg: das war ja ein experiment. das müssen wir jetzt erstmal eine Woche sacken lassen. Wir sam-meln jetzt die Woche über informa-tionen, wir stellen alle inhalte, die wir hier erstellt haben allen makern zur Verfügung. da wir für den rah-men verantwortlich sind, müssen wir sehen, dass wir diese teilweise wilden aktionen in einen logischen Zusammenhang bringen. das sollte man noch ein bisschen herauskit-zeln, damit das ergebnis im besten licht erscheint. da brauchen wir keine Sorge haben, dass wir etwas kuratieren müssen oder einzeler-gebnisse herausstellen sollen. ich glaube, das hauptergebnis war

mdie gemeinsame erfahrung, die gemacht wurde. das der Weg an-statt das Ziel.

WaS für hoffnungen haSt du an daS logo beZüglich der globalen Verbreitung?

jörg: das anliegen, das dieses logo hat, unterstütze ich abso-lut. die idee, eines übergeord-neten logos – unabhängig von irgendwelchen institutionen – finde ich genial. letztendlich hat jede ngo ein besonderes inter-esse ihr logo in den medien zu sehen. es geht um möglichst viel medienöffentlichkeit, da funktio-niert eine ngo auch wie ein un-ternehmen. Wir wollen auch die maximale Visability aber dahinter steht keine organisation. es geht nur um die inhalte. Wenn wir mit dem makerlab dazu beitragen konnten, dass dieses logo mit den inhalten verknüpft wird, eine gewisse präsenz hat und auch im internet weitergetragen wird, wäre ein großer erfolg. Wir konnten mit dem makerlab beispiele setzen, die von der community angenom-men werden und dadurch entsteht ein offener dialog. das sind die er-sten ergebnisse, die erste Vorlage. Wir schauen jetzt, wie der ball von der internet-community zurück-gespielt wird.

haSt du noch etWaS Wichtig-eS, WaS du noch nicht loSWerden konnteSt?

jörg: ich bin gespannt, wie die resonanz ist. ich glaube wir haben hier auch ein gewisses format ent-wickelt – die makers mit den human rights. die makers treten

in verschiedenen Städten auf, ko-operieren auch eng mit dem dmY. der dmY macht eine asientour. Wenn wir dieses prinzip des maker-lab on human rights in Städten im asiatischen raum aufziehen könnt-en und genau mit diesen inhalten, die uns die bevölkerung vor ort mit reinbringt – das wäre genial. dann haben wir nicht nur unseren blick, sondern auch blicke aus ganz an-deren ecken der Welt.

dann Seit ihr auch näher an den orten dran in denen eS eVentuell probleme gibt…eS natürlich toll, Wenn man So ein projekt Z.b. in china machen kann.

jörg: Wir haben hier beim dmY ein ziemlich internationales publikum. So ein anlass ist perfekt, um mit menschen aus anderen ländern in kontakt zukommen. Wir hatten gestern z.b. chinesische architek-tinnen da, die haben bei unserem human rights logo generator als Statement ein chinesisches Schild ran gesprüht, was die chinesische regierung an häuser von leu-ten sprüht, die gegen ihren Willen umgesiedelt werden sollen. das ist interessant, da wird ein dialog angeregt. es ist ja nicht so, dass das in china nicht diskutiert wird. Viele leute in solchen ländern tra-gen diese themen mit sich herum, suchen den austausch. Wir haben auch gewisse klischees im kopf, die immer wieder in der diskussion mit den leuten widerlegt werden können.

objects that have their own life cycles. they come to us in their various states of packaging, as-sembly, age, and wear. We enjoy them for a time, get sick of them, and get rid of them. however, for those objects it’s not the end of the story.Some move on to new homes, some are reincarnated by crea-tive minds, and many take their place in our future archeology, in the grave of a landfill.these object souls have seen things. know things.

the aim of “die Sachenseele” -- the object Soul project -- is to record the everyday bio-graphies of the products of our civilization. these stories are the memory and the soul of the object.

an object with a memory is harder to just throw away. a soul adds value, making it easier to pass the object on so that it can live more adventures. the less we throw away, the less we are forced to produce new, lessening our environmental burden. encouraging a barter economy yields social benefits well beyond questions of waste. grzegorz Wilk intends for this workshop to ignite an open dis-cussion about the ways we can use common goods. it is called the “mine.ours.no-one’s” approach, a tool for transfor-ming public spaces, which are thought of as no-one’s, to spaces that we share with friends and other people so they becomes ours. if each member of society felt ownership of public goods they would treat them with as much care as if the objects were their own.

Wir sind melissa fröhle und maria neumann und studieren im 4. Semester produktdesign an der udk. im rahmen eines projektes mit den prinzessinengärten ist die idee entstanden, vertikale flächen in der Stadt für pflanzen zu nutzen. Wir überlegten uns ein System, mit dem man den raum unter seinem fen-ster zu seinem persönlichen garten machen kann. die bauteile sollten möglichst umsonst und leicht zu be-kommen sein, deshalb suchten wir uns alte teile von fahrrädern, Skate-boards und gebrauchsgegenstände, die wir recyclen könnten. die nutz-pflanzen werden in konservendosen an einer fahrradkette angebracht. man erreicht die pflanzen, indem sie sich über eine alte fahrradkur-bel hoch und runter bewegen lassen, dabei werden die töpfe durch ein bad mit regenwasser unter der kon-struktion gezogen und dadurch be-wässert. im moment haben wir noch nicht alle mechanischen probleme gelöst, das Ziel ist aber eine anlei-tung zu erstellen mit der der gar-ten möglichst günstig nachgebaut werden kann.

article 21. (1) everyone has the right to take part in the government of his country, directly or through freely chosen representatives.(2) everyone has the right of equal access to public service in his country.(3) the will of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government; this will shall be expressed in periodic and genuine elections which shall be by universal and equal suffrage and shall be held by secret vote or by equivalent free voting procedures.

article 22. everyone, as a member of society, has the right to social security and is entitled to realization, through national effort and international co-operation and in accordance with the organization and resources of each State, of the economic, social and cultural rights indispensable for his dignity and the free development of his personality.

article 23. (1) everyone has the right to work, to free choice of employment, to just and favourable conditions of work and to protection against unemployment.(2) everyone, without any discrimination, has the right to equal pay for equal work.(3) everyone who works has the right to just and favourable remuneration ensuring for himself and his family an existence worthy of human dignity, and supplemented, if necessary, by other means of social protection.(4) everyone has the right to form and to join trade unions for the protection of his interests.

article 24. everyone has the right to rest and leisure, including reasonable limitation of working hours and periodic holidays with pay.

article 25. (1) everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.(2) motherhood and childhood are entitled to special care and assistance. all children, whether born in or out of wedlock, shall enjoy the same social protection.

article 26. (1) everyone has the right to education. education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. elementary education shall be compulsory. technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit.(2) education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. it shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the united nations for the maintenance of peace.(3) parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children.

article 27. (1) everyone has the right freely to participate in the cultural life of the community, to enjoy the arts and to share in scientific advancement and its benefits.(2) everyone has the right to the protection of the moral and material interests resulting from any scientific, literary or artistic production of which he is the author.

article 28. everyone is entitled to a social and international order in which the rights and freedoms set forth in this declaration can be fully realized.

article 29. (1) everyone has duties to the community in which alone the free and full development of his personality is possible.(2) in the exercise of his rights and freedoms, everyone shall be subject only to such limitations as are determined by law solely for the purpose of securing due recognition and respect for the rights and freedoms of others and of meeting the just requirements of morality, public order and the general welfare in a democratic society.(3) these rights and freedoms may in no case be exercised contrary to the purposes and principles of the united nations.

article 30. nothing in this declaration may be interpreted as implying for any State, group or person any right to engage in any activity or to perform any act aimed at the destruction of any of the rights and freedoms set forth herein.

mein name ist ben. für das human rights makerlab habe ich die Webseite program-miert und zusammen mit dem doele küm-mere ich um die Video dokumentation.

Ziel ist es die makerlab Workshops nicht nur inhaltlich darzustellen sondern auch auf der internetseite dauerhaft festzu-halten und den prozess zu erklären. So kann im Sinne eines guten logos und markenmanagements gezeigt werden, was die jeweiligen projekte machen. beim maklerab zeigen wir verschiedene aktionen wie beispielsweise spielerische ansätze zu entwickeln, um für ngos Wissen zu vermitteln, wir basteln selbst Schablonen und Siebdrucken vor ort, erklären wie essen gesund zu breitet wird und woher es kommt. außerdem wollen wir darüber hinaus den prozess und die entwicklung der Zusammenarbeit zeigen um, dritten die möglichkeit zu geben, die methode zu kopieren und verbessern.

Zum dmY makerlab für menschenrechte wollen wir leute anregen, mitzumachen und über aktionen die Werte der menschenrechte selbst zu verstehen. das resultat bleibt sozusagen das beste-hende logo mit inhalten aufzuladen.
