Dzisiaj obchodzimy pierwsz¹ niedzielê Wielkiego Postu. Ten “mocny” okres liturgiczny jest drog¹ duchow¹ prowadz¹c¹ nas douczestnictwa w wielkiej tajemnicy œmierci i zmartwychwstania Chrystusa. Jan Pawe³ II mówi³, ¿e «Wielki Post ka¿dego roku jawi siênam jako czas sprzyjaj¹cy wzmo¿eniu modlitwy i pokuty, otwieraj¹c serce na pokorne przyjêcie woli Bo¿ej. W tym okresiewskazywana jest nam duchowa droga, bêd¹ca przygotowaniem do ponownego prze¿ywania wielkiej tajemnicy œmierci izmartwychwstania Chrystusa, przede wszystkim poprzez pilniejsze s³uchanie s³owa Bo¿ego oraz bardziej wielkoduszne praktykowanieumartwienia, dziêki czemu mo¿emy hojniej przyjœæ z pomoc¹ bliŸniemu w potrzebie». Wielki Post i dzisiejsza Ewangelia ucz¹ nas,¿e ¿ycie jest drog¹, która ma nas zaprowadziæ do nieba. Aby jednak na nie zas³u¿yæ, musimy byæ poddani ró¿norakim pokusom.«Wtedy Duch wyprowadzi³ Jezusa na pustyniê, aby by³ kuszony przez diab³a» (Mt 4,1). Jezus, pozwalaj¹c, aby Go kuszono, chcia³nam pokazaæ jak walczyæ i przezwyciê¿aæ pokusy: dziêki ufnoœci Bogu i modlitwie, dziêki bo¿ej ³asce i mocy. Pokusy mo¿na nazwaæ“wrogami duszy”. W³aœciwie mo¿na je podzieliæ na trzy grupy. Pierwszy rodzaj pokus to “œwiat”: «powiedz, ¿eby te kamienie sta³ysiê chlebem» (Mt 4,3). Oznacza to ¿ycie maj¹ce za jedyny cel posiadanie rzeczy. Drugi to “z³y duch”: «jeœli upadniesz i oddasz mipok³on (…)» (Mt 4,9). Przejawia siê w pragnieniu w³adzy. I na koñcu mamy “cia³o”: «rzuæ siê w dó³» (Mt 4,6), co znaczy pok³adanieufnoœci w ciele. Wszystko to doskonale wyra¿a œw. Tomasz z Akwinu powtarzaj¹c za Œwiêtym Ambro¿ym: «�ród³a ¿¹dz s¹ bowiemŸród³em pokus. S¹ nimi: lubie¿noœæ, pogoñ za s³aw¹ i nienasycona chciwoœæ w³adzy».
