    Staff Positions Open for NJWG BE 07Lt. Col. Robert Jennings

    has been named command-er of this years NJ WingBasic Encampment and hasannounced a call for staff.

    Many positions andstaff volunteers to fill themare essential to a success-ful encampment. Eachand every staff position isan important part of theencampment -- there is nounimportant staff posi-tion.

    Cadets who have alreadycompleted encampmentand all officers (seniors) areinvited to apply for posi-tions on staff. Application

    forms are available andrequire the signature of oursquadron commander, Maj.Eboch, before being turnedin. Hard copy signed appli-cations may be faxed to Lt.Col. Jennings at (908) 248-0716.

    All staff applications aredue no later than 12 Jan.Submitting your applica-tion by the deadline dateis essential to ensuringadequate facilities available

    to us during the training

    weekends. In addition toworking on the encampmentweek in July, staff memberstake part in several train-ing and planning weekends

    in the spring. There will be one training and plan-ning session one weekendper month until the monthbefore the encampment.

    The staff selection andinitial training weekendwill be held 20 to 21 Jan. atMcGuire AFB. Attendanceat every weekend will not be mandatory, but Lt. Col. Jennings expects maximumpossible attendance fromeach staff member. Thor-

    ough preparation and plan-ning is essential to a smoothencampment experience.

    If you have any questions,contact Lt. Col. Jennings viaemail after consulting withyour unit chain of com-mand. Cadets and CAPofficers who have served asstaff in previous years fromyour unit can answer manyof your questions.

    Or you can just ask Lt.Col. Jennings when you see

    him, of course.

    Maj. Steve Tracy has beennamed as director of the 2007New Jersey Wing Conference,

    to be held this year at Fort Dix,31 March-1 April.

    While past conferenceshave been held in hotels andat McGuire AFB, this yearsannual get together will beheld at Timmerman Confer-ence Center on Fort Dix. Thecadet ball, annual banquet andFriday reception will be heldat Club Dix, just up the street

    from the conference center. Billeting will be available at theAll-American Inn on McGuire

    AFB.On Sat., 31 March, there wil

    be a general assembly, awardceremonies, seminars and dis-cussion groups and the annua banquet. A NJ Wing all-commanders call will be held on1 April.

    On 20 Jan 20, NJWG will

    kick off a new program thatwill increase our skills andmake us more valuable toour communities and create away for more people to knowabout CAP and our capabili-ties.

    The new program is CERT(Citizen Emergency ResponseTeam). This program is goingto be part of CAP in the near

    future and it is an active pro-

    gram in municipalities underthe direction of the policedepartments. The classes areexpected to be interestingand active with instructionfrom fire departments, statepolice, the Red Cross andothers.
