Son of a Jewish family, Leah was a restaurateur and concert pianist and Arnold, an electronic engineer involved in the development of Computers. 12. >> 0 >> 1 >> 2 >> 3 >> 4 >> Childhood He spent his childhood in Haddon Township, NJ. When he was about 10, he made his first amateur movie using a 8mm cam and his friends as actors. His first exhibition was at Pinnacle Peak Patio restaurant in Scottsdale. The movie lasted 40 minutes and showed facts of war. At 16, he made a movie called Firelight using a Super 8 cam. This movie was shown in a local Threater rented by his father. Made for TV, that movie was a great success and had a version for Cinema. A couple of mounths later, he started to manage a TV series called Columbo and Marcus Welby M.D. His success opened his way into the cinema as a Director. 16. >> 0 >> 1 >> 2 >> 3 >> 4 >> Professional life In 1975, Spielberg directed the movie that would be the greatest Success of his career, Jaws (Tubaro in Portuguese). The movie was a great success and had revenues of more than 100 million and attracted audiences around the world, most of them youngsters. In 1979, he had his first failure with the movie 1941 A Comedy Spetacular. This movie reached U$D 390 millios of box office and was a big success for critics. This movie reached the highest box office of history of cinema, U$D 793 million against a U$D 10,5 million budget. Spielberg was impressed with talent that Williams had. Spielberg invited Williams to participate composing for the movie called The Sugarland Express. One year later, Jaws soundtrack gave an Oscar to Williams.
