With its lake and valleys, Lugano offers so many great reasons for a stay. Lugano owes much of its success as a tourist destination to its tem-perate climate, moderated by the presence of the lake, with mild winters and an abundance of sunny days. Around Lugano, scattered along the shores of the lake and up in the mountains, you will find many villages. Some easier to find than others. Elegant arcades, frescoed churches, skilled craftsmen and picturesque streets: Each location offers you unique, authentic memories.

MORCOTE

Due to its natural beauty, its long arcades and old patrician houses, Morcote is known as “the pearl of lake Lugano”. Worth visiting is the Church of Santa Maria del Sasso and the Parco Scherrer with its typical southern vegetation and architec-tural style. Morcote is about 10 km from Lugano and can be reached by boat, car and post-bus.

GANDRIA

Gandria is an unspoilt, picturesque lakeside vil-lage at the foot of Monte Brè. Perched on the steep mountainside it is a community of narrow streets with a delightful surprise round every cor-ner. Gandria can be reached by boat, by bus, by car or by foot, along the lakeside in 30 minutes, taking the path from Castagnola-San Domenico towards Gandria.

Attorno a Lugano, disseminati tra le rive del lago e le montagne, si trovano molti villaggi. Alcuni più facili da trovare, altri più nascosti. Eleganti portici, chiese affrescate, artigiani appassionati e contra-de pittoresche: ogni località offre diverse unicità e si fa ricordare per la sua autenticità.

MORCOTE

Con le sue bellezze naturali, le caratteristiche stradine e i portici delle antiche case patrizie, Morcote viene considerata “La perla del Ceresio”. Di rilevante interesse sono la Chiesa di S. Maria del Sasso ed il Parco Scherrer con vegetazione mediterranea e palazzine architettoniche. Morco-te si trova a 10 km da Lugano ed è raggiungibile in automobile, autopostale ed in battello.

GANDRIA

Romantico villaggio di pescatori, arroccato ai pie-di del Monte Brè, offre al visitatore uno stupendo panorama. Chiusa al traffico, Gandria è un’oasi di tranquillità con le sue pittoresche viuzze e sca-lette. È raggiungibile in automobile, in battello, in bus oppure a piedi da Castagnola-San Domenico percorrendo in mezz’ora un facile sentiero che costeggia il lago.

Rund um Lugano liegen zahlreiche Dörfer zwi-schen Seeufer und Berghängen verstreut. Einige sind leicht zu finden, andere liegen etwas abseits. Elegante Lauben, Kirchen mit wunderschönen Fresken, leidenschaftliche Handwerker und ma-lerische Gassen: Jedes Dorf ist einmalig und ver-zaubert durch seine Authentizität.

MORCOTE

Dank seinen Schönheiten, den Laubengängen und den reich verzierten Fassaden der Patrizier-häuser ist Morcote als “die Perle des Luganer-sees” bekannt. Die Kirche Santa Maria del Sasso und der Parco Scherrer mit seiner mediterranen Vegetation und den speziellen Bauwerken sind auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert. Morcote befin-det sich ca. 10 km von Lugano entfernt und ist per Schiff, Auto und Postauto erreichbar.

Das malerische Fischerdorf ist verkehrsfrei, voller Treppen und winkligen Gässchen und mit Sou-venirläden und Terrassenrestaurants versehen. Gandria liegt am östlichen Ufer des verzweigten Luganersees und ist per Schiff, Bus, Auto oder in einem halbstündigen Uferspaziergang ab Cas-tagnola-San Domenico erreichbar.

En raison de ses paysages, ses ruelles et ses an-ciennes demeures à arcades, Morcote est appe-lée la « Perle du Ceresio ». L’église Santa Maria del Sasso et le Parc Scherrer avec sa végétation méditerranéenne et ses constructions architectu-rales, sont d’un grand intérêt. Morcote se trouve à 10 km au sud de lugano, on peut s’y rendre en bateau, voiture ou car postal.

GANDRIA

Ce village romantique de pêcheurs, accroché au pied du Monte Brè, offre au visiteur un magni-fique panorama. Fermé à la circulation, Gandria avec ses ruelles et ses escaliers pittoresques est une oasis de paix. On peut s’y rendre en bateau, en bus ou à pied de Castagnola-San Domenico en marchant une trentaine de minutes le long du sentier qui côtoie le lac.

Eine Stadt, die mit ihrer herrlichen Umgebung verschmelzt – das ist Lugano. Hier wird der Traum vom Glück zwischen See und Bergen wahr. Der Luganersee scheint wie gemacht für Windsurfing, Segeln, Kitesurfen, Stand up Paddling und Was-serski. Zugang zum See findet man leicht dank den diversen Strandbädern, wo sich alles um Wassersport und Unterhaltung dreht. Die umlie-genden Berge sind gespickt mit Wanderwegen unterschiedlicher Schwierigkeitsgrade sowie mit rassigen Trails für Mountainbike-Liebhaber. Alles zum Greifen nah und bereit, erforscht zu werden. Sport ist ein fester Bestandteil von Lugano, wo jährlich mehrere erfolgreiche Sport-Events statt-finden wie zum Beispiel die Seeüberquerung, Stadtläufe und andere Rennen.

Les eaux du Ceresio se prêtent parfaitement au windsurf, à la voile, au kitesurf, au paddle et au ski nautique : accéder au lac est facile grâce aux lidos du Luganais où les activités sportives et le divertissement semblent sans fin. Lugano offers a different shopping experience, one which can best be lived in slow motion. The well-lit shop windows in Lugano’s old central dis-trict which are painstakingly tended, are highly inviting and you’ll be sorely tempted to find time to enjoy some shopping. With their elegant por-ticos and quaint little piazzas, Via Nassa and Via Pessina have become a cult destination for shop-pers seeking designer labels. These streets are surrounded by beautiful historic buildings whilst every so often at the end of the street you’ll no-tice the lake twinkling in the sun. Outside Luga-no, the small specialised shops in Morcote, set beneath the arches of “Switzerland’s most beau-tiful village” beckon those looking for fine local products: salami, cheeses or local crafts. And of course, if you crave intense shopping sessions, shopping centres on the outskirts of town are easy to reach.

Eine andere Art von Shopping, langsam und gemächlich. Die warm beleuchteten Schau-fenster im alten Stadtkern von Lugano mit der geschmackvoll ausgelegten Ware laden zum Ein-treten ein, um sich in aller Ruhe umzusehen und beraten zu lassen. Via Nassa und via Pessina mit ihren Laubengängen und hübschen Plätzen sind ein Paradies für alle, die exklusive Markenartikel suchen, umgeben von den hübschen Fassaden der stattlichen Altstadthäuser, zwischen denen da und dort der nahegelegene See glitzert. Aus-serhalb der Stadt, in Morcote, “dem schönsten Dorf der Schweiz”, findet man kleine Läden unter den Bögen mit Lokalprodukten wie Salami und Käse sowie regionales Kunsthandwerk. Nicht zu vergessen die Einkaufszentren. Sie sind gut er-reichbar und bieten alles, was das Herz begehrt.

Lugano is, furthermore, in a strategic geographic position on the main rail- and motorway network which makes a wide range of very important al-pine passes along the South –North axis easily accessible; these include: the Novena, the S. Gottardo, the Lucomagno, the S. Bernardino, the Spluga and the Maloia passes.

The region of Lugano has another very important advantage in that it is networked with Milan, a financial metropolis and a cultural capital, which may be conveniently reached in 45 minutes by motorway or in one hour by train. In less than two hours from Lugano it is also possible to discover new territories: from the Ticinese treasures to the most typical cities of central Switzerland, to some of the most important art cities in northern Italy. Situata in Ticino, un Cantone alpino interamente incluso nel perimetro del territorio di applicazione della Convenzione delle Alpi, Lugano si trova in una posizione geografica strategica. Lugano ist mit privaten und öffentlichen Verkehrs-mitteln einfach zu erreichen. Die Seestadt liegt im Tessin, einem Bergkanton, der vollständig der Alpenkonvention unterstellt ist und befindet sich geographisch in einer strategischen Position. Von hier aus gelangt man leicht zu den wichtigs-ten Alpenpässen der Nord-/ Südachse: Nufenen, Gotthard, Lukmanier, San Bernardino, Splügen und Maloja.
