A few weeks before the end of the year, we cannot help making a balance of the road we have gone down together. This year, we have also experienced a macroeconomic situation dominated by a slowdown in world growth and the fall in prices of raw materials, particularly oil, causing instability which has tested the strength of TUBACEX.

Oil prices have fallen to their lowest level since 2009, decelerating investment projects in the exploration and production sector, one of the Group's main segments of activity. It is precisely in this scenario marked by uncertainty where our commitment to operational excellence acquires even more special relevance, if possible. Based on this, by enhancing our efficiency, adopting flexibility and cost saving measures and increasing the market share in other key sectors, we will consolidate our business.

We cannot change the environment, but we must adapt to it by being more creative, competitive and flexible. With this attitude, we will continue facing up to the market situation with the certainty that we are all an essential part of a great team that requires joint commitment in order to continue moving forwards.

The strength of a company is basically measured at times of uncertainty. Times in which we have not ceased to invest and in which we have continued to integrate companies. A clear example of this is the recent acquisition of 68% of the stainless steel piping division of the Indian company, Prakash Steelage, which enables us to begin this third edition of TUBACEX Beat in full color. We welcome all of our new team in Asia

Wenige Wochen vor dem Jahresabschluss, wollen wir einen Rückblick auf den gemeinsamen Weg werfen. 2015 war die makroökonomische Lage weltweit durch die Verlangsamung des Wachstums und den Verfall der Rohstoffpreise, vor allem des Erdöls, gekennzeichnet; dies führte zu Instabilitätsszenarien, die eine Herausforderung für die Stärke von TUBACEX darstellten.

Der Verfall des Ölpreises, der das niedrigste Niveau seit 2009 erreichte, hat alle Investitionsprojekte in der Ölerschließung und –produktion, einer der wichtigsten Geschäftssparten der Gruppe, gebremst. Gerade in diesem Szenario der wirtschaftlichen Unsicherheit ist unser Bekenntnis zur operativen Exzellenz besonders entscheidend.

Denn nur die operative Exzellenz wird es uns ermöglichen, die Effizienz noch mehr zu steigern, sowie Flexibilisierungen, Kosteneinsparungen und andere Maßnahmen einzuführen. Somit können wir höhere Marktanteile in den Schlüsselsektoren gewinnen und unser Kerngeschäft konsolidieren.

Zwar können wir unser Umfeld nicht verändern, aber wir können uns sehr wohl den Herausforderungen stellen, indem wir noch kreativer, kompetitiver und flexibler sind. Durch die Verantwortung und die Anstrengung von jedem Einzelnen von uns, haben wir die Zuversicht, dass wir alle mit vereinten Kräften als Teil eines großen Teams in einem ungewissen Markt erfolgreich bestehen werden.

Over the past few years, the Asian market has become one of the markets with highest demand for seamless stainless steel tubes.

Although until now TUBACEX presence on this market was limited, the Group is aware of the importance of this geographical region which will increase in the future. Therefore, the Group needs to reinforce both its industrial and sales presence in this region.

In this context, 67.5% of the seamless stainless steel tube division of the Indian company Prakash Steelage was acquired by the Group. This will be integrated in TUBACEX India with headquarters in Mumbai and production facilities in Umbergaon (Gujarat). The division acquired has an invoicing of 25 million Euros and a workforce of 250 employees.

Competitiveness & Quality in ASIADer asiatische Markt ist in den letzten Jahren zu einem der wichtigsten Abnehmer für nahtlose Edelstahlrohre geworden.

Bisher war die Präsenz von TUBACEX in diesem Markt beschränkt, aber die Gruppe ist sich der Wichtigkeit dieser Region, die in der Zukunft noch weiter zunehmen wird, bewusst, weshalb es notwendig ist, die industrielle und kommerzielle Präsenz in dieser Region zu verstärken.

In diesem Zusammenhang ist die Übernahme von 67,5% der Sparte Nahtlose Edelstahlrohre (Division) vom indischen Unternehmen Prakash Steelage zu sehen, die in TUBACEX India mit Sitz in Mumbai und Produktionsstätte in Umbergaon (Gujarat) integriert wird. Die übernommene Division verzeichnet einen Umsatz von 25 Millionen Euro bei einer Belegschaft von 250 Mitarbeitern/Arbeitnehmern.

In his new role, Mr. Ajay Sambrani will be responsible for TUBACEX business in Asia, managing manufacturing operations in the region, as well as all the Sales Offices in Asia and the Middle East

Excellent TRAINING as a preventive measure

Nowadays, occupational health and safety is more than the TUBACEX Group's commitment to its employees: it is a reality that has been achieved through common effort in all of the business units.

At a local level, SBER places special emphasis on the training of its workers in this field to prevent potential risks and reduce accidents.

Since 2013, SBER has been carrying out a powerful health and safety training program through specialized courses in risk activities which are always taught by internal and external experts.

One of the courses to highlight is the «Industrial Climber Course» as it is one of the plant's most important and most necessary courses due to the extensive use of cranes and work carried out at heights. The course combines theoretical and practical training with the aim to provide full knowledge of how to act when working at a height. The training is rounded off with an exam which workers must pass. It is expected that by the end of the 2015, a total of 37 workers will have successfully completed the course.

All these training programs are being well received by the workers, who know that being aware of all the risks and knowing how to prevent them is extremely important for their daily work and therefore, they can work more efficiently achieving higher quality results

Exzellente Ausbildung als präventive Maßnahme

Gesundheit und Sicherheit am Arbeitsplatz sind heute nicht nur ein Bekenntnis der Gruppe TUBACEX zu ihren Mitarbeitern, sondern, dank der gemeinsamen Anstrengungen in allen Business Units, eine Realität.

Auf lokaler Ebene schreibt SBER der Fortbildung der Mitarbeiter in den Bereichen Gesundheit und Sicherheit eine große Bedeutung zu, da sie ein bewährtes und notwendiges Mittel ist, um Risikosituationen und Unfälle am Arbeitsplatz zu vermeiden.

Seit 2013 führt SBER eine solide Fortbildung in den Bereichen Gesundheit und Sicherheit mit Kursen über Risiken und Gefahren am Arbeitsplatz durch, die sowohl von internen als auch von externen Experten durchgeführt werden.

Innerhalb des Fortbildungsprogramms ist der Kurs „Industrielles Klettern und Steigen” einer der wichtigsten und notwendigsten, da im Werk SBER täglich sehr viele Kräne in Betrieb sind und viele Arbeiten in erheblichen Höhen verrichtet werden. Dieser Kurs beinhaltet einen theoretischen und einen praktischen Teil und vermittelt damit ein umfassendes Wissen über das richtige Arbeiten in großen Höhen. Die Teilnehmer müssen am Ende der Ausbildung eine Prüfung ablegen. Bis Ende 2015 ist vorgesehen, dass 37 Mitarbeiter diesen Fortbildungskurs erfolgreich absolvieren

Its non-delegable functions include the definition of the company's strategy, the investment policy, the corporate government policy, the corporate social responsibility policy, the risk management and control policy, the fiscal policy, as well as the shareholder remuneration policy among others.

However, it must be pointed out that since coming out of the 1992 crisis, the TUBACEX administrative body has been characterized for being a pioneer in corporate governance, under the conviction that the transparent management and professionalism of its directors are the best tools to maintain the trust of the shareholders over the years, in spite of the changing macro-economic circumstances.

Proof of this lies in the fact that we have had and have a powerful Board, which has always had a majority of independent directors selected from professionals of great prestige and with an extensive career in the business and social world. Within the TUBACEX Board, the high level of participation and commitment of all of its members to the company's projects can be highlighted. Furthermore, this Board has three committees, whose specific powers and skills guarantee the necessary knowledge prior to taking important decisions by the Board of Directors. These decisions are later channeled thorough the company's CEO, who, as the top executive, ensures that the Board of Directors' agreements are fulfilled.

The TUBACEX Board of Directors is the company's highest decision-making and supervision body, whereby it is accountable to all of the shareholders that meet at least once a year at the General Meeting.

The very nature of intense pressure requires producers to focus on a number of critical design criteria. Umbilicals are high demand products that are used in offshore wells for hydraulic control and chemical injection services, whereby its tubes fulfill strict quality and performance levels. This development will enable

Acerálava to supply an intermediary product that will guarantee excellent mechanical and corrosion characteristics. It also ensures optimum weldability in the whole dimensional range of umbilical tubes, which enables a micro-

structure to be obtained in the heat-affected area that fulfills the most stringent quality requirements.

GNMS is a consortium of European companies which aim to promote sales to the nuclear industry, focusing mainly on New Nuclear Power plants. The TUBACEX Group is a member of this consortium.

How is the nuclear industry evolving four years after the Fukushima accident? A new international regulation has been put in place to guarantee that in the event of severe accident, no radiation can be extended beyond the reactor building. As a result of this regulation, many countries have reconsidered their stance on including Nuclear Energy in their Energy mix.

Which are GNMS objectives and possibilities in above scenario?GNMS was set up by seven companies (TUBACEX, SBER, ERNE fittings, Essinox, Loire industries, NRM, Sotep) in 2014 and the Butting Group joined in 2015. Our main objective is to offer a comprehensive solution to the Nuclear industry in terms of pipe fitting and forging, and to become the world leader in certified Nuclear raw material packages.

Which will be the main focus of GNMS over the forthcoming years?From 2015 to 2030, around 70 NPP will be built in the world and 180 projects will begin. GNMS has three main focuses: «Newbuild» on UK project and ITER project; the mid-term projects, such as the Turkish project with Areva and MHI and our action in the Chinese market; and the adaptation of the existing NPP to the new international rules in terms of safety.

What role can TUBACEX play within GNMS? The TUBACEX Group plays a key role within GNMS, through SBER and IBF. The TUBACEX Group has extensive experience in nuclear projects worldwide and the quality of the product enables TUBACEX to deliver pipes in the reactor building

Schlumberger Limited, the world’s largest oilfield services provider, and Cameron, a provider of flow equipment products, systems and services to oil, gas and process industries, have jointly announced a definitive merger agreement. According to Schlumberger, as of August 25th, 2015, the total transaction value is $14.8 billion. This is a corporate acquisition in the oilfield services sector, in which TUBACEX is increasingly supplying its tubular solutions

KNPC awards contracts worth US$11.5bn for al-Zour refinery

TUBACEX has great expectations in the recent announcement of KNPC awarding USD$11.4 Bn to build the al-Zour oil refinery, which will be one of the largest in the Middle East with a capacity of 615,000 barrels per day. With the recent renewal of the KNPC approval, TUBACEX is ready to supply Stainless Steel Seamless Pipes, Tubes and Fittings for the new refinery and potentially to the Petrochem complex

The TUBACEX Group has supplied material for the cooling system of the first subsea compression facility in the world, which was commissioned by Statoil in Asgard, in the Norwegian Sea, in September. This subsea system manufactured by Aker Solutions will boost output from the ageing field by around 306 million additional barrels of oil. The location of this equipment at the sea floor, closer to the well (instead of at the surface platform), allows for much higher oil and gas recovery

Interview to recognize the most veteran employee at TUBACEX for 50 years devoted to the company: for his professionalism and expertise.

What balance would you make of your 50 years at TTI? I began as an apprentice at TTI Llodio at the age of 14, swapping my short pants for long ones and two years later, I went on to become a third-class official in Mechanical Maintenance. I held the post of boring machine operator for 45 years in the company. I also worked as a fitter in the pump room in recent years.

What's the best thing that has happened to you at TTI? The best thing has been working alongside young, open teams that are eager to learn, sharing experiences: from the past and the present. Working enthusiastically, with commitment and as a team, as well as sharing experiences is essential on a daily basis.

What historic event do you particularly recall? The 1983 floods. A great deal of effort was required to start up all the engines that had been affected by the water, not only professionally but also personally, providing all of the resources to repair them.

A moment to remember.... I particularly remember a repair job in the extrusion mill in which we had to assemble complex machining on site. We were a team capable of implementing the modifications proposed by our Maintenance Managers for mills and pumps.

Welches Resumee würden Sie nach 50 Jahren bei TTI ziehen?Ich begann mit 14 Jahren als Lehrling bei TTI Llodio und tauschte dort zum ersten Mal kurze Hosen gegen lange und drei Jahre später war ich Aushilfe beim Wartungsmechaniker. Danach war ich 45 Jahre lang als Bohrer im Unternehmen tätig. In den letzten Jahren war ich auch Monteur im Pumpraum.

Was ist hat Ihnen bei TTI am Meisten gefallen?Das Beste war, immer mit so jungen, aufgeschlossenen und lernwilligen Teams zu arbeiten und Erfahrungen mit ihnen zu teilen: von der Gegenwart und von der Vergangenheit. Mit Freude und Engagement im Team zu arbeiten und dabei Erfahrungen teilen zu können, ist tagtäglich das Allerwichtigste.

Welcher historischer Meilenstein ist Ihnen besonders im Gedächtnis geblieben?Die Überschwemmungen von 1983. Es war viel Anstrengung nötig, um all die Motoren, die vom Wasserschaden betroffen waren, wieder auf Touren zu bekommen und wir waren nicht nur professionell, sonder auch auf einer persönlichen Ebene gefordert um die Mittel zur Reparatur der Motoren bereitzustellen.

Ein Moment an den Sie sich gerne erinnern…Ich erinnere mich besonders an eine Reparatur der Pumpe bei der Strangpresse, für die wir einen mechanisierten Komplex „in situ” einbauen mussten. Wir waren ein Team das im Stande war, die von unseren Wartungschefs vorgeschlagenen Modifikationen umzusetzen.

Productivity and OEE indicators are being monitored every day, and shift and daily meetings are held to establish priorities and solve problems. TxPS is helping the company to improve inter-departmental communication and to focus and prioritize efforts and resources. The first SCRA-s in pipes division have been made with very promising results.

In the fittings division, IBF has started establishing productivity and OEE indicators in the key production areas and will soon start to launch the TxPS tools related to shift and daily meetings.

TxPS will help IBF improve its current operational performance with the participation of all employees and management team. With the firm commitment to implementing all TxPS basic level tools and methodologies by the end of the year, IBF is advancing steadily on the road to operational excellence.

The implementation of rigorous process management and the application of robust continuous improvement methodologies are going to strengthen the capabilities and productivity to ensure a bright future in this competitive market

IBF hat neuerlich die Implementierung der ersten Ebene der TxPS Methodologie in der Pipe Division erfolgreich durchgeführt.

Die Produktivität und die OEE Indikatoren werden täglich und pro Schicht analysisert, es finden jeden Tag und jede Schicht Meetings statt, um die Prioritäten festzulegen und auftretende Probleme zu lösen. TxPS hilft der Gruppe, die interne Kommunikation zu verbessern und sich dadurch auf Ressourcen und Prioritäten zu fokussieren. Wir haben sogar den ersten SCRA in der Pipe Division mit viel versprechende Ergebnisse durchgeführt.

In der Fitting Division hat IBF die Produktivität und OEE Indikatoren für die Schlüsselareas der Produktion festgelegt und wird demnächst die mit dem TxPS System verbundenen Tools für die Schichten- und Tagesmeetings anwenden.

TxPS wird IBF helfen, die jetzige operative Performance durch der Beteiligung aller Mitarbeiter und der Geschäftsleitung zu verbessern. Das Ziel ist alle Tools und Methologien der ersten Ebene von TxPS bis Ende des Jahres zu implementieren, IBF befindet sich am besten Weg zur operativen Exzellenz.

Programs with the NOVIA SALCEDO Foundation• Local one-year grant in different areas

(Commercial, Operations, Finance, People Management, Occupational Risk Prevention) to carry out development programs with real company objectives.

• Global Training and Leonardo da Vinci Programs. Four people carried out training at our Austrian subsidiary in 2014. In 2015, the company is currently selecting two new candidates.

• Job Creation Program: it is an entrepreneurial program in which young people with initiative and an entrepreneurial spirit work to create their own company and look for job prospects that give them differentiating value.

IKASLAN Program (dual system)Developed in conjunction with the Llodio Vocational Training Center and aimed at students of two consecutive cycles in the field of maintenance. These students combine their practical training at the TUBACEX facilities in the subsidiaries in Alava with their studies at the Center, with a high rate of later being incorporated into the company.

Internationalization Program with the BASQUE GOVERNMENTIn the development phase for the TUBACEX office in Mumbai, as part of the company's expansion in ASIA.

Of more than 80 young people who have developed some kind of grant program at TUBACEX, over 50% of them have been taken on by the Group, some of whom now hold important positions on the Operations Management Committee and in the worldwide Commercial area.

Other young people have found new professional careers in other companies and have been supported by their tutors and by the People Development department.

Historically, development has been local and the aim of the TUBACEX Group is to continue growing in this type of initiatives in all of the countries in which the company operates, contributing to the professional integration of young people in a swifter and more efficient way

Programme in Kooperation mit der Stiftung NOVIA SALCEDO• Einjähriges lokales Stipendium in

unterschiedlichen Bereichen (Handel, Finanzen, Personalmanagement, Prävention von Arbeitsunfällen) zur Realisierung von Entwicklungsprogrammen, die immer den realen Zielen des Unternehmens entsprechen.

• Programme „Global Training” und „Leonardo Da Vinci”. Vier Personen haben im Jahr 2014 eine Ausbildung in unserer österreichischen Filiale absolviert. Im Jahr 2015 werden von Unternehmen zwei neue Kandidaten für dieses Programm ausgewählt.

Von den über 80 Jugendlichen, die ein Stipendienprogramm bei TUBACEX realisiert haben, wurden mehr als die Hälfte von der Gruppe eingestellt, einige haben heute wichtige Positionen im Betrieb und im internationelen Bereich inne.

Historisch war die Entwicklung lokal beschränkt, doch das Ziel der Gruppe TUBACEX ist es, bei dieser Art von Initiativen zukünftig in allen Ländern, in denen wir tätig sind, zu wachsen um auf eine flexiblere und effizientere Weise zur Integration den Jugendlichen auf dem Arbeitsmarkt beizutragen

• Gründerprogramm: es handelt sich um ein Lernprogramm, bei dem Jugendliche mit Eigeninitiative und Unternehmungsgeist an der Gründung ihres eigenen Unternehmens arbeiten und Geschäftslösungen mit hoher Wertschöpfung erarbeiten.

Programm IKASLAN (duales System)Mit dem Centro de Formación Profesional de Llodio entwickelt und an den Lehrlinge im Bereich der Wartung gerichtet. Diese Studenten kombinieren ihre praktische Ausbildung in den Einrichtungen der Filialen in Álava mit ihren Studien an der Universität, wobei sie später zu einem hohen Grad ins Unternehmen eingebunden werden.
