Wer in der Natur auf sich allein gestellt ist, braucht eine Ausrüstung,

auf die er sich verlassen kann. Das ist der Grund, warum wir für Sie

unsere Produkte gemeinsam mit realen Anwendern entwickeln und

als einziger Daunenhersteller noch in Deutschland produzieren. Wir

haben jetzt nach der Ultra-Leicht-Serie VIB (very important bag)

neue Maßstäbe gesetzt für Abenteurer mit kleinem Gepäck und alle

Leichtgewicht-Fans. Unsere Produkte der Companyon-Serie passen in

jedes Handgepäck. Unter dem Label NTN-Technology (NTN = next to

nothing) verarbeiten wir die leichtesten und exklusivsten Materialien,

die derzeit auf dem Weltmarkt erhältlich sind. Wegen der aufwendigen

Produktion werden Produkte mit NTN-Technology zur Zeit nur limitiert

auf dem Markt angeboten.

Auf diesem Wege hat das YETI-Team den leichtesten Schlafsack seiner

Klasse entwickelt. Er kommt verpackt in der Größe einer Grapefruit

daher. 1000 km Garn halten die Daune zusammen, das entspricht einer

Strecke von Görlitz bis London. Dieses Garn hat die Größe von einem

Zwanzigstel eines menschlichen Haares, die 1.000 Kilometer Garn

wiegen 140 Gramm. Der Passion ist gefüllt mit 97/3 Crystal Down, mit

einem kaum erreichten Loft von 900+ inch3.

Für die sensationelle Vollendung von Form und Funktion in einem

Schlafsack wurde der Passion one mit dem bekannten Red-Dot-Design-

Award als Winner 2009 ausgezeichnet.

Who is left to his own devices in nature, requires a qualitatively perfect

equipment where he can rely on. To guarantee these high requirements

and an excellent quality, our products are developed in cooperation

with real users and we are the only manufacturer still producing his

down products in Germany.

After the ultra-light line VIB (very important bag), the Yeti-team has

set new standards and developed the lightest sleeping bag of its class.

Particularly for adventurers and all light-weight fans intending to

further reduce their packing weight and pack size, we recommend our

products of the Companyon line now. Under the label NTN-technology

(NTN = next to nothing) we process the lightest and most exclusive

materials currently available on the global market. In packed condition,

our sleeping bags of the “Passion” range are hardly larger than a gra-

pefruit. Due to the complex processing, products with NTN-technology

are manufactured in limited edition only.

1000 km yarn are processed to a high-quality product, which is equi-

valent to a distance from Görlitz to London. This yarn has the size of a

twentieth of a human hair, these 1,000 kilometres of yarn weigh only

140 grammes. The Passion line is filled with our special down “Crystal

Down“, with a hardly achieved loft of 900+ inch3 in a 97/3 mixing ratio,

for absolutely best isolation.

For the sensational perfection of shape and function in one sleeping

bag, the “Passion One“ was granted the famous Red-Dot-Design-Award

Die Next to Nothing Technology bedeutet unter anderem, dass wir

für alle Companyon-Produkte die derzeit leichtesten und exklusivsten

Materialien verarbeiten. So wiegt das daunendichten Ripstop-Nylon-

Gewebe nur 25 Gramm pro Quadratmeter.

Das Geheimnis der Leichtigkeit liegt in den 1.000 Kilometern Garn, die

die Daunen zusammenhalten. Dieses Garn hat die Größe von einem

Zwanzigstel eines menschlichen Haares, die 1.000 Kilometer Garn

wiegen 140 Gramm.

Trotzdem erweist sich das luftige Gewebe als erstaunlich reißfest. Und

es garantiert, dass sich die Companyon-Produkte als wasserabweisend,

windresistent und atmungsaktiv zeigen. Beispielsweise im Passion-

One-Schlafsack sorgen 35.000 Daunen mit einem Durchmesser von ca.

4 cm dafür, dass Ihr Körper stets wohltemperiert ist. Mit ein paar mehr

Daunen auf 690 Gramm aufgeplustert, können Sie darin sogar eine

Nacht bis –7 Grad Celsius überstehen.

Limitierte Auflage

Es gibt auf der Welt nur 5 Webmaschinen die ein solch feines Material

herstellen können. Diese Maschinen stehen alle im Norden Japans.

Jede produziert nur 35 Meter pro Tag. Von dieser Crystal-Down-Qualität

können nur ca. 1.000 Kg pro Jahr gewonnen werden.

Deshalb ist die Liefermenge der Companyon-Produkte begrenzt.

The Technology Inside

The Next to Nothing Technology among others means that for all

Companyon products we are processing the currently lightest and most

exclusive materials. Thus, the downproof rip-stop nylon fabric weighs

just 25 grammes per square metre.

The secret of lightness is based on the 1,000 kilometres yarn holding the

downs together. This yarn has the size of a twentieth of a human hair,

these 1,000 kilometres of yarn weigh only 140 grammes.

Nevertheless, the airy fabric proves astonishingly tearproof. And it

guarantees that Companyon products are waterproof, wind-resistent

and breathable.

In the Passion-One sleeping bag for instance, 35,000 downs with a dia-

meter of about 4 cm make sure that your body is always well tempered.

Fluffed up to 690 grammes with just a few more downs, you will survive

in it even a night of up to minus seven degrees centigrade.

Limited edition

In all over the world, there are just five weaving machines available who

can manufacture such a fine material.

All these machines can be found in the North of Japan.

Each of them produces only 35 metres per day.

Only about 1,000 kg of this crystal-down quality can be gained per year.

For this reason the delivery quantity of Companyon products is limited.

Since 1983, we have been developing high-quality down sleeping bags

and down clothing.

For adventurers and explorers we have always been fi ghting for each

millimeter of pack size and each gramme of total weight.

However, in everyday live or on small trips the equipment of people

often is still inappropriate. For this reason, we have created a professi-

onal equipment for everyday life with extremely small pack sizes under

the label “Companyon“.

The weight of Passion sleeping bags or ultra-light-weight clothing is

hardly noticeable. Almost weightless they provide for a comfortable

body climate and feel soft and silky.

CrystalDown 900+ von masurischen Gänsen entfalten in bis zu 4 Jahren unter besten Bedingungen eine optimale Daunengröße. Diese von uns

verwendeten Daunen sind groß, leicht und bieten einen hervorragenden Isolationswert. Die speziell verarbeitete Gänsedaune ist getestet nach

europäischer Norm und entspricht dem Öko-Tex-Standard 100. Rund 35.000 Stück werden benötigt, um das kleinste Companyon Modell Passion

One zu füllen.

luggage or in the glove compartment. Thanks to their exceptional breathability they provide pleasant protection against wind, cold or moisture

DaunenanteilIn der Zusammensetzung der Crystal Down verwenden wir nur neue

Original Daunen, Klasse I (nach DIN EN 12934) mit einem Daunenanteil

von mindestens 90%. Die Restanteile der Federn unterstützen die schon

hohe Füllkraft der Daunen.

TestsDaunen und Federn sind ein Naturprodukt, welches „natürlichen“

Schwankungen unterliegt, wie z.B. dem Wechsel des Klimas, der Tempe-

ratur oder der Feuchtigkeit. Alle Crystal Down Lieferungen durchlaufen

umfangreiche Tests. Gerade die abschließenden Tests (z.B. bzgl. der

„Fillpower“) sind uns sehr wichtig und finden in Zusammenarbeit mit

den weltweiten IDFL Laboren statt (International Down and Feather

Laboratory & Institute).

WäscheUm unseren Kunden die Wäsche der Crystal Down-Produkte noch

einfacher zu machen, wird nach der Rohdaunenwäsche in das letzte

Spülbad ein in der Natur gewonnenes kristallenes Salz hinzugefügt.

Dieses Salz glättet die kleinen, schuppenförmigen Verästelungen im Ka-

pillarsystem der Daunen und Federn. Dadurch erhöht sich die Fliessge-

schwindigkeit des Wassers beim Schleudervorgang und reduziert somit

die Trocknungszeit eines Schlafsacks oder einer Jacke um bis zu 40%.

PflegeNach dem Gebrauch unserer mit Crystal Down gefüllten Produkte sollte

man diese leicht aufschütteln und ausreichend lüften. Dadurch unter-

stützt man den „Memory-Effekt“ der Daunen und Federn und sie kehren

wieder zu ihrer ursprünglichen Füllkraft zurück.

HerkunftDie von uns als Crystal Down verwendeten Daunen stammen von

erstklassigen Bauernhöfen in Europa. Die hier gewonnenen Daunen und

Federn gehören zu den Besten der Welt. Die Freilandhaltung hat einen

entscheidenden Einfluss auf die Qualität der Daunen. Wir halten es für

wichtig, dass Gänse und Enten nicht zur Daunengewinnung gezüch-

tet werden, sondern die Daunen ein natürliches „Nebenprodukt“ der

Tierhaltung bleiben, deshalb werden keine Daunen verwendet, die von

lebenden Tieren gerupft wurden.

DauneneigenschaftenAufgrund der Kapillarstruktur von Daunen können diese bis zum

3-fachen Ihres Eigengewichts an Feuchtigkeit aufnehmen und wieder

abgeben. Dadurch stellt der Daunenschlafsack das ideale Schlafklima

her. Selbst feuchte Daunen können noch isolieren. Zum Vergleich:

einfache Synthetikfasern können nur ca. 8% Feuchtigkeit aufnehmen.

Durch die hohe Atmungsaktivität der Yeti-Außenhüllen kann die Daune

besser abtrocknen.

Aufbereitung / VeredlungJede Partie Crystal Down wird zunächst im Labor untersucht und

danach für die Veredlung freigegeben. Alle Crystal-Down-Qualitäten

werden mit speziellem, biologisch abbaubarem Daunenwaschmitttel ge-

waschen und bei über 100°C getrocknet. Jetzt sind die Daunen absolut

keimfrei. Während des Trocknungsprozesses erhalten die Daunen noch

eine antibakterielle Ausrüstung, um Geruchs- und Schimmelbildung

zu vermeiden. Wir verzichten bei der Crystal Down auf eine zusätzliche

Silikonisierung, um das Kapillarsystem jeder Daune unbeeinträchtigt zu

lassen. Tests bestätigen, dass Crystal Down auch für Allergiker geeignet

ist.

OriginDowns used by us as Crystal Down derive from first-class farms in

Europe (e.g. Hungary, Poland, France). In these areas of origin of the

European Community, it is cared for highest standard of fowl breeding.

Downs and feathers obtained here belong to the best of the world.

Rearing in free-range systems, particularly sufficient water and the

healthy feeding have a decisive influence on the quality of downs.

We only process qualities of dead plucked animals.

We consider it important not to breed geese and ducks for down exploi-

tation, but the down to remain a natural „byproduct“ of stock breeding.

Down proportionIn the composition of the Crystal Down we only use new original downs

according to class I (according to DIN EN 12934) with a down propor-

tion of 90% at least. The remaining proportions of feathers support the

already high fill power of the downs.

Down characteristicsDue to the capillary structure of downs these downs can absorb and

emit again humidities of up to three times of their own weight. Due to

this feature of the humidity transport the down sleeping bag represents

the ideal sleeping climate. Even damp downs are still in the position to

isolate. As a comparison:

Simple synthetics fibres can absorb only approx. 8% humidity.

Downs can optimally dry if the outer sheath of a sleeping bag or clo-

thing has a high breathing activity like Yeti products.

Processing / refinementRefinement of original downs is carried out by a German bed-feather

factory. Each lot of Crystal Down is investigated in the laboratory first

of all and after that released for further processing. All Crystal Down

qualities are washed with a special, biodegradable down washing

powder in up to 60°C warm water in order to rinse out all undesired

residues out of the downs. After that, the goods are dried beyond

100°C. Now the downs are absolutely aseptic and suitable for filling our

sleeping bags and clothing. Tests confirm that Crystal Down is suitable

for allergic persons as well.

FinishingDuring the drying process, the downs receive an antibacterial finishing

to prevent the development of odours and mildew. As far as Crystal

Down is concerned, we avoid an additional siliconisation to leave the

capillary system of each down unimpaired.

CareAfter each use of our products filled with Crystal Down we recom-

mend to slightly fluff them up and to sufficiently aerate them. This will

support the “memory effect” of the downs and feathers and they will go

back to their original fill power. The downs will then form the variety of

little air cushions for heat storage again.

Our sheathes are down-proof and permeable to air, allowing the downs

to keep warm and to best possibly support the humidity transport and

breathing activity.

Das Gelingen einer Tour ist meist schon vom

Schlafsack abhängig. Dieser ist ein wichtiges

Utensil in jedem Outdoor-Gepäck. Deshalb

ist darauf zu achten, dass der Schlafsack

auch dem Anforderungsbereich des Kunden

entspricht.

Aufbewahrung und Pflege

Daunenschlafsäcke werden nicht in den

Packsack gerollt, sondern gestopft. Dabei

wird mit dem Fußende begonnen. Der Reiß-

verschluss sollte geöffnet sein, damit die Luft

leichter entweichen kann. Die komprimierte

Aufbewahrung im Packsack ist für den

Einsatz unterwegs gedacht. Eine dauerhafte

Aufbewahrung im Packsack verkürzt das

Leben eines Schlafsackes.

Wird der Schlafsack nicht benutzt, gehört

er in den mitgelieferten Stausack. Vorher

unbedingt gut lüften.

Daunenschlafsäcke nicht chemisch reinigen,

damit den Daunen nicht der Fettgehalt ent-

zogen wird und Beschädigungen der Gewebe

vermieden werden. Geringe Verschmut-

zungen lassen sich örtlich und manuell

entfernen. Für eine gelegentlich notwendige

Ganzwäsche in der Waschmaschine, sollten

Sie biologisch abbaubare Daunenwaschmit-

tel, z.B. YETI-CLEAN-DOWN SOAP verwen-

den. Zur Trocknung starken Wind oder einen

grossvolumigen Wäschetrockner benutzen.

Wasch- und Reparaturservice

Jeder noch so gute Schlafsack oder jedes

noch so robuste Bekleidungssteil kann im

Verlaufe einer Tour Schaden nehmen und

muss dann repariert werden.

Im Rahmen unseres Reparaturservices bieten

wir an, alle Schäden, die eine Reparatur

rechtfertigen, fachgerecht und mit hoher

Sorgfalt im Rahmen unserer Möglichkeiten

auszuführen. Auf diese Art und Weise konn-

ten wir bereits sehr vielen Kunden helfen und

ihnen dadurch große Investitionen ersparen.

Alle diese Leistungen müssen natürlich kalku-

liert werden und es gibt im vornherein keine

genauen Preise, da die Vielfalt der Reparatu-

ren einfach zu groß ist. (vom Wechseln des

Reißverschlusses bis zum Kammeraustausch

oder der Daunenerneuerung ist alles möglich)

Bitte wenden Sie sich an Ihren Fachhändler,

lassen Sie sich beraten und bitten Sie um

einen entsprechenden Kostenvoranschlag.

Schlafsack oder Daunenjacke beim Fach-

händler abgeben, der stellt den Grad der

Verschmutzung und eventuelle Beschädi-

gungen fest und erteilt uns den Auftrag zur

Wäsche. Innerhalb von 5 - 7 Werktagen wird

der Schlafsack in unserem Hause begutachtet

und fachgerecht gewaschen.

Dabei erfolgt automatisch eine Nachbehand-

lung. Also Daune wird wieder optimal positio-

niert, kleine Schönheitsreparaturen werden

ausgeführt. Bei Bedarf oder Notwendigkeit

kann auch die Daune komplett gegen Berech-

nung erneuert werden.

YETI offers a guarantee within the statutory

period as well as a 5-year guarantee on the

workmanship of down sleeping bags. Each

authorized YETI dealer (worldwide) offers you

a service within the warranty. After analysis

of the product, we will repair or replace the

material or product defects according to our

assessment at no extra charge.

Excluded are damages resulting from

accidents, faulty treatment or cleansing, and

normal wear and tear of materials, coating, or

zippers. Also excluded from the guarantee are

continued claims, especially those of damage

replacement from defects. Please read the

care instructions on our products.

Custom Design

We offer custom designs to all of our clients,

who cannot be completely served and

equipped with our production models, for

whatever reason.

If you need a different sleeping bag length,

for instance – wider than the one offered in

the series, or with other exact construction

details, please contact us. We will do every-

thing within our limits to implement the

optimal solution for you.

Storage and Care

Sleeping bags utilizing down filling should

not be rolled or folded when replacing them

in their stuff sacks. The correct method is to

stuff the sleeping bag with it’s zipper opened

into the sack starting with the feet-end first.

To ensure optimal airing during storage, the

zipper should be completely opened. The

compression achievable while utilizing the

stuff sack is designed for temporary storage

while travelling.

When storing your YETI product for longer

periods, you should first ensure the sleeping

bag is well aired before placing it into the

storage bag provided. NEVER use chemical

cleaning agents with sleeping bags utilizing

down filling. Chemicals will remove the

natural oils contained within the down and

greatly reduce its effectiveness.

Small stains can be specifically targeted

and removed by hand. Should your entire

down sleeping bag require cleaning, we

recommend the use of a biodegradable down

cleaning agent.

YETI’s own YETI-CLEAN-DOWN SOAP is

an example of just such a cleaning agent.

Drying should be done in a well ventilated

area, ideally under mild and windy conditi-

ons. If using a machine to dry, a dryer with a

generous sized drum is recommended.

The best way to ensure professional cleaning

is to utilize our YETI CARE SERVICE and send

your sleeping bag to us.

Wash and Repair Service

Every good sleeping bag or robust garment

can get damaged during a tour and should

be repaired.

As part of our repair service we offer to

professionally take care of all damages that

warrant repair, within our limits. This way we

have helped many customers and saved them

large investments.

All of these offers must naturally be cal-

culated and there are no set prices, as the

diversity of repairs is too large. (Ranging

from changing zippers to chamber switching

or down replacement)

Please consult your local dealer and let them

advise you on any cost estimates.

Just leave the sleeping bag or down jacket

with your local dealer. They will determine

the degree of mess or damages and pass the

cleaning job on to us. Within 5 – 7 working-

days the sleeping bag will be examined in our

house and professionally washed.

Aftercare happens automatically. Down

is re-positioned optimally, small aesthetic

repairs are taken care of, too. If necessary,

the down may be completely replaced at an

extra charge.
