The major part of contaminated ground and ground water is caused by leakage in filling stations or oil tanks. Thousands litres of oil (gasoline, diesel, benzenes, mineral oil, kerosene) leak out unnoticed into soil and are first discovered by final balance sheets or in the course of excavations of soil during building measures.
