Auswirkungen auf P.A.

“stückig”: umfangreich in manchen Bereichen, gering in anderen
•Gründe: •Ausbildung / berufsständischer Druck (Händler /
Kooperativen)
•Persönliche Neigungen & ‘führende Landwirte’
•Pflanzenbauliche Passfähigkeit & Technologiebedarf

• Return to Story N sensors shine throughReflected light gauges plant health and nitrogen needs
Rich Fee, Crops and Soils Editor and Larry Reichenberger
12/02/2006, 2:46 PM CST
New management approach
GreenSeeker sensor. Photograph: Rich Fee
When nitrogen (N) was relatively cheap and water quality wasn't a big issue, many of us applied high rates of N before planting to make sure the crop neverran short. Ironically, putting a high rate of N on early in the season is animportant part of a new approach to N management. The twist with this newsystem is you will only put a high rate of N on a representative area of eachfield. Then you will use N sensors to compare that N-rich strip to the rest of thefield. The sensors let the crop tell you when it has enough N to meet its yieldpotential and when it doesn't.
Using light reflected off the crop, the sensors compare the color of the crop inthe N-rich strip to the color of the crop in the rest of the field.
Choosing the right N rate before the crop is even planted is more a matter ofluck than science. It's like predicting the weather, with a slew of other factorsthrown in.
N sensors promise a way to gauge crop status midway through the season. Forcorn, that means after spring and early summer N losses, and also after the soilhas had a chance to release N for the crop.
The sensors also provide a means for measuring -- and managing -- thevariability across a field. Oklahoma State University (OSU) researchers did a lotof the development work on the GreenSeeker N sensor, and they have done alot of research on small-scale variability in fields. As an example of that

• Return to Story Animal ID payoffSome producers are finding out how much the data
is worth for identified cattle
Gene JohnstonManaging Editor

Tracking is coming
South Dakota veterinarian David Barz has launched a calf ID managementprogram to produce source-verified marketable calves that are worth more thangeneric calves. Preconditioned calves get this button tag that transmits the ID
number to a scanner. Photographs: Greg Latza, Mike Boyatt
Like it or not, the national animal identification system is coming. All animalsthat live on or pass through your farm or ranch will be tracked. The big issue foryou is measured in dollars and cents: Will there be a payoff? Will themarketplace pay you extra for animals identified to your farm with birth datesand other critical information?
Some producers, veterinarians, and cattle buyers are trying to answer thatquestion. Here are three examples.
1. No more generics
David Barz calls them generic cattle -- no age, no known health status, noknown farm of origin. Most calves sold in sale barns are generic.
Barz, a veterinarian, is the owner and operator of Northwest Veterinary Supplyin Parkston, South Dakota. He has launched a program called the South DakotaValue-Added Calf Management Program for customers as an alternative togenerics.

05/31/2007 09:00 PMRanchMaster solutions for vineyard wireless solutions for data collection and irrigation control
Page 1 of 2http://www.ranchsystems.com/ssite/products_summary.htm
Ranch Systems designs wireless technologies and
Internet software specifically for vineyards and
other agribusiness.
RanchMaster solutions work with a range of sensors to gather andtransmit field data to a secure website, where customers can view andrespond to information instantly.
Our solutions are modular, like Legos, so customers can createeconomical systems to meet their precise needs. Whatever combinationof measurement, data transmittal, and valve and equipment actuationcomponents customers choose, RanchMaster solutions require zero-programming and no configuration, and are backed by Ranch Systems'satisfaction guarantee.
All solutions send field information to a secure website, where customerscan view charts, set custom alerts and triggers, generate reports, andactivate valves and equipment remotely. Or customers can choose todownload information to a spreadsheet for their own calculations.

Integration• Die Wertschöpfungskette der I.T. Hardware-

Landwirten viel Arbeit abnehmen
• Teamarbeit zwischen Wissenschaft - Landwirt - Ausrüstung- I.T. Spezialist ist erforderlich
• Mach es wie Google: verstecke die Komplexität

Beitrag der I.T.• I.T. ermöglichte die Integration und die
Globalisierung
