Der Amerikaner Marshall B. Lloyd entwickelte 1917 eine Material-innovation zur Herstellung von Möbeln, indem er Metalldraht mit Papier doppelt umwickelte und sehr feinmaschig wob. Dieses Ge-webe hieß von nun an Loom und erlebte in den 20er und 30er Jahren seine erste Blüte. Auf einer Englandreise Ende der 70er Jahre entdeckten die Brüder Hans und Heinz Vieten aus Viersen alte Originale der Lloyd-Loom-Marke und ihre persönliche Leidenschaft für die zeitlosen Meister-werke. 1981 nahm ACCENTE als erster Hersteller die Produktion nach alter Fertigungsmethode wieder auf und fertigt bis heute „Das Original“.

In 1917, the American Marshall B. Lloyd invented a new material for the production of furniture by twisting paper around a metal wire, placing the paper threads on a loom and finely weaving them together. This fiber became known as loom. Loom furniture flour-ished in the 1920s and 30s. On a journey from Viersen to England in the late 1970s, the Vieten brothers discovered old original chairs of the Lloyd Loom trademark and their personal passion for loom furniture. In 1981, ACCENTE began production applying the tradi-tional loom production technique and remains true to its form as “Das Original”.

Peter Joehnk ist Inhaber des in-ternational renommierten Innen-architekturbüros JOI-Design und seit mehr als 28 Jahren erfolg-reich als Architekt, Designer und Buchautor tätig.

Peter Joehnk is the owner of an internationally renowned inte-rior design office, JOI-Design, and has been successful as an architect, designer and author for more than 28 years.

EVOLUTION ist mit zwei reddot design awards ausgezeichnet wor-den, für das Bett AURA und den Stuhl RADO SWING, beide aus der Feder von Martin Ballendat.

Untergestelle aus massivem Buchenholz bilden das Fundament der ACCENTE-Originale. Für die Formgebung kommen in Ergänzung je nach Modell präzises Formholz oder hochwertiges Bugholz zum Einsatz.Die Möbelfertigung mit Bugholz geht auf ein von Michael Thonet 1830 entwickeltes Verfahren zurück, bei dem unter Wasserdampf Buchenholz gebogen wird.Auf die Untergestelle wird das ACCENTE-Loom von Hand aufgear-beitet. Die Formung der verschiedenen Modelle aus dem Loom-Gewebe erfordert das handwerkliche Können und die langjährige Erfahrung unserer Mitarbeiter. Eine Kommission wird immer von einem Mitarbeiter individuell gefertigt um sicherzustellen, dass jedes einzelne Möbelstück dieselbe Handschrift trägt.

Frames of solid beech wood build the foundation for the ACCENTE originals. For non-linear designs, highest-quality shaped woods or bent woods are used. Furniture manufacturing with bent wood originates from a process developed by Michael Thonet in 1830, in which beech wood is formed through a steaming procedure. The ACCENTE loom is then fitted onto the frames by hand. The loom forming for the various models requires the specialized handcrafting skills and long-time experience of our employees. Each ordered set of furniture is entirely handcrafted by the same employee to ensure a consistent “handwriting” across all individual pieces.

Im Tauchbad werden die Rohmodelle im Gewebe verfestigt und für die Lackierung grundiert. Die Lackierung und sämtliche Zwischen-schliffe erfolgen von Hand. Um die unvergleichliche Haptik der ACCENTE-Möbel sicherzustellen, erfolgen bis zu vier Lackier- und Schleifdurchgänge. Die individuellen Polster- und Kissenbezüge aus hochwertigstem Leder und Stoff werden mit Hingabe und Liebe zum Detail in unseren Nähereien geschaffen. Das Qualitätsmanagement erstreckt sich über jeden einzelnen Arbeitsschritt und wird mit einer sorgfältigen Kontrolle in der Endmontage abgeschlossen. Sie ist die strenge Voraussetzung für die Krönung, die nur perfekte Möbelstücke erhalten: das ACCENTE-Label.

In the coating process, the loom fabric is hardened and prepared for the lacquering stage. The spray painting and sanding are carried out by hand. In order to ensure the unsurpassed touch and feel of ACCENTE furniture, this process is repeated up to four times. The individual cushions and pillows out of the finest available fabrics and leathers are sewn in our sewing department by hand with preci-sion and absolute attention to detail.Quality management is extended to every individual manufactur-ing stage and is completed with a comprehensive quality control at the final assembly. It is the most stringent requirement for the coro-nation of a perfect piece of furniture: The ACCENTE label.

With our energy-efficient, handcrafted manufacturing, we exclu-sively use materials from regional, national and continental Euro-pean suppliers to minimize the transport routes and thus contribute to cutting emissions. The ACCENTE woods originate from sustainable forest cultivation and the loom craft paper stems from certified Scandinavian for-estry companies. The water-based paints are environmentally-friendly and the textiles (Eco-Tex-Standard 100) as well as the leathers (LGR quality seal) are non-hazardous and likewise pro-duced in respect of the environment.
