Niederquerschnittsreifen, Tiefbettfelgen, Zentralmutter, Sicherheitsbremssystem, einzigartiges Fahreigenschaften und ein markantes Design – was für ein Wagen. Stopp! Die Rede ist nicht von einem Renn-, sondern von einem Brennwagen. Dahinter verbirgt sich ein High-Performance-Grill, der in unserer kleinen Kölner Manufaktur entwickelt und produziert wird und die Grillwelt auf den Kopf stellt. Der Grund: unsere Grill-Boliden mit Namen wie GT 800i oder GTX 1500 vereinen ausgeklügel-te Ingenieurskunst mit hochwertigen Materialien. Das Ergebnis sind nicht nur saftige Steaks, zarte Lammfilets, pikante BBQ-Spieße oder holzgeräucherter Lachs. „Einen Brennwagen zu steuern, ist echtes Lebensgefühl“. Jeder Grill ist ein Unikat mit eigener Seriennummer. Er wird nicht am Band gefertigt, sondern ent-steht in liebevoller Detail- und Handarbeit. Unser 18-köpfiges Team steht hierfür in einer ehemaligen 650qm-großen Fabrikhalle in Köln-Mülheim in den Startlöchern, noch in diesem Jahr ist der Umzug in die benachbarte 1.500qm große Halle geplant. Nach dem Zuschneiden der Bleche formen die Me-chaniker die Teile Stück für Stück einzeln in der Biegepresse und setzen sie anschließend behut-sam zusammen. Die Brennwagen-Mechaniker kennen jeden Knick in den einzelnen Komponenten. Die von Hand geschliffenen Holzkomponenten erhalten ihre Beschläge vom Schreinerfachmann, und Profischweißer fügen alle geschweißten Bauteile gekonnt zusammen. In der sogenannten Hochzeit verbinden die Monteure schließlich Grill und Grundgestell miteinander.

Every Brennwagen is a one-off feat of engineering, with its own serial number. Our barbecues are not made on assembly lines, but shaped and formed by hand with loving attention to detail. 18 Brennwa-gem employees are working in our pit lane, a 650 square metre former factory in Cologne-Mülheim. A neighbouring, 1500 sqm hall is being prepared to become the new Brennwagen workshop in the course of the year. After cutting the individual sheets, our technicians give them their final shape one by one in the bending press before assembling the Brennwagen body with care. Everybody knows eve-ry single fold and turn of each part. A qualified cabinet-maker fits the hand-ground and polished wood components, and our specialist welders guarantee the perfect and reliable fit of all welded parts. In the final step, called the marriage, the barbecue and chassis are joined to become a true Brennwa-gen.
