AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY
Charles John Huffen Dickens was born in Hampshire, England, on 7th February 1812. He died on 4 th june 1870 ( Aged 58).

Dickens was an English writer and social critic. He created some of the world's best-known fictional characters and is regarded as the greatest novelist of the victorian era.
AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY
Dickens left the school to work in a factory when his father was in prison. But he wrote fifteen novels, hundreds of shorts stories and non-fiction articles and lectured and performed extensively.

A Christmas carol tells the story of a bitter old miser named Ebenezer Scrooge and his transformation into a gentler, kindler man after visitations by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the ghosts of Christmas past, present and yet to come.

Charles Dickens shows an unromantic image of criminals and their lives and he exposes the cruel treatment of the orphans in London in the mid-nineteeth century.

A Tale of Two Cities takes place in London and Paris before and during the French Revolution .It shows the hard concitions of the French peasents and the novel compares the situation with life in London.

The victorian era of British history was the period of Queen Victoria's reign. It was a long period of peace, prosperity, refined sensibilities and national self-confidence for Britain.
