MACHINING EXAMPLESIn addition to test sample machining, DIADISC cut-off saws can be used for a variety of other

machining tasks. They can cut all materials and material combinations successfully, achieving an

FEED APPLIANCES

The feed appliances (withball bearing guides)serve to position the work-piece exactly andconvey it to the sawblade. Thus pipes, rods,profiles etc. can be set tothe correct length, paral-lel or slanted, with greatexactness.

A variety of adapter platesare provided to hold dif-ferently shaped workpieces.The quick-clamp securingclips or your own fixtures canbe mounted on these.

SPEED - REDUCTIONchange into the correct gear

Hard or brittle materials suchas steel,hard metal, glass andceramics, etc.require extremely slowspeeds - by contrast,aluminium and some plasticmaterials higher areas.

FOR EFFICIENTDEBURRINGof PCB’s, aluminium andplastic.A special blade is drawnalong the workpiece,milling a a clean bevelfree of chatter. The widthof the bevel can beinfinitely adjusted.

This device alsoenables so-called“printed plugcontacts“ on PCB’s tobe bevelled on one ortwo sides:the copper pathsremain unaffected bythis operation.

These special protective goggles are splinter-resistant and prevent injuries to your eyes.

The parts are fed with the aid of a sliding rod,leaving hands and fingers outside the danger

TOOLJET

Quick-change-system

For universal circular saw applications (i.e. if frequentchanging of cutting tools is necessary due to the

different materials involved) is the rapid replacementa decisive advantage.

The slim breaking fragility of cutting tools is compen-sated for and there is no need to use wrenches.

Saw blades and cutting disks are simply replacedat the touch of a button.

By the way: Both old and new DIADISC-machinescan be fitted with Tooljet.

MICRO SPRAYING EQUIPMENT

The micro-fine spray mist isapplied to the cutting toolfrom two sides via twonozzles and adheressecurely to the saw blade,even at high speeds.

The Micro-Spraying systemwith pump, tank and liquidcontroller is built inside of anexternal unit and connectedwith the nozzle by a hose.

Smooth cuts and improvedcutting performance

Wet cutting with the micro sprayingequipment is a supposition for thehighest cut quality.

The spray mist ensures perfect lubri-cation every time, something whichcannot be achieved manually witha brush. The cooling requiredfor diamond cutting disksis thus achieved whenmachining hard, brittlematerials.The cutting result can be improvedby up to 100% by using the microspraying equipment.Cutting surfaces with a peak tovalley height of RZ 4-6 µm can thusbe reached.

Lubrication is essential whenmachining the following materials:aluminium, brass, copper, steel andhard metals.

Cooling is necessary with thefollowing materials: glass, ceramic,ferrite, graphite, silicium and allother brittle materials.

Water can be used for cooling, ora special emulsion for lubrication,depending on requirements (seeprice list “Accessories“).

An optical warning display auto-matically reminds you to refill it in timeto keep it from running dryunintentionally.

An automatic mode can be selec-ted using a rotary switch, whichautomatically activates the spray-nebulizer as soon as the sawingprocess is started.

DIAVAC-EXTRACTIONBenefits both your health and the

environment

Chips and dust particles are taken up andtransported away by the air current of the

extraction unit.This is made possible because the suction

arm is equipped with an efficient airconveyance system and a suction head

with special sealing bristles.The bristeles are arranged round about,

sloping backwards, and enable theworkpiece to be sensitively pushed

through without slowing or stopping.

The front part of the suction head can betilted upwards to enable the saw blade

to be viewed during set-up.The suction head can be continously

adjusted with a knop to suit the height ofthe workpiece.

This option offers a high degree of user-com-fort, as it can be pivoted upwards

or removed completely if necessary

when changing the saw blade.

Materials which produce fine orhealth-endangering dust should

always be machined in conjunctionwith the use of an extraction unit. Thisparticularly applies to machining offibre-strengthened materials (PCB’s,

fibre-strengthened plastics etc.)

Using DIAVAC extraction unitsprevents fine dust particles being

blown out into the atmosphere.Not every extraction unit is

suited to this task.The DIAVAC extraction units are

equipped with a special finedust filter and thus guarantee

optimum results.A socket is provided for

connecting the unit.

Drive mechanism and safety

DIADISC precision machines are equippedwith special high-speed balanced motors tomaintain an universal and broad speedrange as possible. An electronic speedregulator controls the motor spindle.The respective load is determined andadditional output is readied automatically ifnecessary.The speed can be steplessly adjustedthroughout the entire range. It is character-istic of the speed that it does not remainentirely constant when the motor is underload, but rather adapts itself accordingly incritical situations.The tendency of drills and milling hobs toblock (along with the possibility of toolfracture as a result) is thus considerablyreduced.

Material and quality

The construction and assembly elementsused (milled and turned parts, ball bearings,etc.) are made exclusively of high-qualitymaterials, such as non-corrosive stainlesssteel, special anodised aluminium or brass.Particularly important construction parts, suchas chassis, bearing seats, pulleys and driveshafts are made of solid raw material turned,milled and ground on precision CNCmachines.

Punched and bent parts are not used, due totheir tolerance and stability characteristics.Parts from other suppliers, such as motors,control electronics and bearings, are pro-duced exclusively in Germany, Austria andSwitzerland in accordance with our pro-duction and quality stipulations.This ensures a long-term guarantee of bothprecision and the supply of spare parts.

Development and production

All DIADISC machines are developed in ourproduction facilities and brought to their finaltechnical maturity under the direction ofengineers and experienced technicians.The machines are designed for lengthyperiods of application, constructed withsuitable stability and comply with currentlyvalid standards.Newly developed options are so designed asto be also suitable in most cases for retrofit-ting older serial models.Machines and options are thus useful long-term investments.

The entire final production and quality controlis carried out at our works in Rieden.
