Intensiv-Vorbereitung auf das Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)

Das Proficiency ist das anspruchsvollste Sprachzertifikat in Englisch und entspricht der Stufe C2 des Europischen Sprachenportfolios. Das Proficiency ist ein international anerkannter Ausweis ber hohe Sprachkompetenz und auch auf dem Arbeitsmarkt von grossem Nutzen.

Das Proficiency garantiert dagegen nicht die Zulassung zum Studium an englischsprachigen Univer-sitten. Viele Universitten in Nordamerika und Australien verlangen andere Nachweise.

Wie das Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) prft das Proficiency Kompetenzen in den Bereichen Listening, Speaking, Writing und Reading & Use of English.

Zum Kurs zugelassen werden nur Studierende, welche das CAE mit A oder B bestanden haben und somit bereits ber sehr gute Englischkenntnisse verfgen.

Zwei Wochenstunden bis zum Prfungstermin im Dezember Zwei obligatorische mndliche bungsanlsse am Samstag Regelmssige verbindliche Aufgaben im Umfang von 60-90 Minuten Die Prfungskosten betragen ca. Fr. 420.

Provisorische Anmeldung

Weil die meisten Studierenden die Resultate der CAE-Prfung zum Zeitpunkt der Anmeldung noch nicht erhalten haben, gilt die Anmeldung als provisorisch. Alle Angemeldeten werden in den Sommerferien von uns kontaktiert; die Anmeldung wird erst dann definitiv.

FAQ

Why do you not offer a course preparing for IELTS or TOEFL, two alternative certificates which are more frequently required to apply for places at overseas universities?

Both IELTS and TOEFL results are valid for 2 years only, and therefore would be of little or no use for the great majority of our students, who will begin their studies in Switzerland.

Cambridge results do not lose their validity, though individual universities or employers are free to require more up-to-date certificates, in line with the IELTS/TOEFL practice, and increasingly do so.

Why should I study for the Proficiency if my CAE with Grade A already denotes ability at C2 level?

A Grade A in the CAE equals a Grade C in the Proficiency. Doing the Proficiency will give you the chance to improve on that, and aim at a Grade A or B.

Also, we are convinced that future employers will rate a Proficiency Certificate at Grade C higher than an Advanced at Grade A. Its all in the name: the Proficiency is, after all, The Proficiency.

Finally: Studying for the Proficiency will improve your English significantly, independent of your eventual exam result.
