Algae extracts, obtained from thebrown algae laminaria hyperborea,has moisturising, toning and protec-ting properties.

Allantoin encourages cell regene-ration in stressed skin, acceleratesthe healing process in the treatmentof wounds. It is obtained from wheatgerms, black salsify, horse chestnutsetc.

Aloe Vera-gel, isolated from theleaves of the aloe vera plant, mois-turises, smoothes the skin and iseffective against skin irritations.

Aluminium salts The active formsof aluminium salts are extremelyeffective antiperspirant agents, aswell as being particularly skin-friendly.

Avocadin is a concentrate of theactive agents of avocado oil. Phyto-sterines, chemically related to hor-mones, and vitamins render avoca-din so effective. It has moisturepreserving properties and is usedeffectively to fight hyperkeratosis,atrophy of the skin and other skindamages. Avocadin especially caresfor and protects dry skin.

Birch (Betula pendula). Obtainedfrom the leaves of this typicalNorthern European tree, this extractpromotes blood flow and cares forthe skin. Bisabolol is a colourless, faintly

aro-matic liquid, which is found up to50 % in the ethereal camomile oil. It iseffec-tive against inflammations, red-deningand irritations. Its bacterio-static effect as well as its ideal com-patibility with the skin deserve aspecial mention.

Calendula oil (Calendula officinalis)Marigold extract from the pale yellowto reddish-orange petalled flowers.The extracts help promote bloodflow and wound healing. They arealso antiinflammatory and stimulatetissue generation. In cosmetology,they are used to treat dry matureskin, and are used in products inten-ded to combat skin damage suchas sun protection products, babyoils, skin protection emulsions andhand care products.

Camomile (Chamomilla recutita).This extract from the flowers of thetrue camomile is used for its skin-soothing, anti-irritant effect.

Cocoa butter (Theobroma cacao)is obtained from fermented and roas-ted cocoa pods, cultivated primarilyin Africa and South America. Thecocoa tree's large melon-like fruit,which contain the cocoa pods, areborne directly on the trunk. Cocoabutter is particularly popular in cos-metic products because it makesskin feel pleasantly cared for.

Collagen is the most important com-ponent of the skin's connecting tis-sue and is responsible for its elasticityand capacity to bind water. We havepre-served the natural character th-rough gentle freeze-drying. This mi-cro-porous matrix is activated if sup-plied with moisture.

Farnesol is a natural component ofmany etherial oils, with a deodorisingand antibacterial effect.

Grape seed oil contains particularlyhigh levels of Vitamin F. This essentialvitamin is one of the basic buildingblocks of our skin. It strengthens thebarrier function and thus the skin’sresistance. In addition, this vitaminpromotes an even complexion whilesuppressing irregular pigmentation.

Green coffee The coffee beans ofthe red and yellow coffee cherry arefermented and dried, but not roasted.The coffee bean extract is rich incaffeine and other active substances;and reduce the volumes of the fatcells (adipocytes), which results in ageneral reduction in the volume offat in the body.

Guarana (Paullinia cupana) is bestknown for its stimulating and slim-ming properties. Guarana – whichalso includes coffein – has been usedto make stimulant drinks in SouthAmerica for centuries.

Hamamelis distillate from the twigsand leaves of the witch hazel (hama-melis virginiana) which is indigenousto North America. Its effect is mildlyastringent, skin-protecting andtoning.

Horse chestnut extract is usedbecause of its vitalising effect. Thechestnut extracts include approxi-mate levels of the following: 10 %of a saponin mixture (Aescin), flavo-noides and tannins. This complexof active agents promotes blood flowto the skin, strengthens the capillarywalls, inhibits oedema formation andhas a positive effect on varicoseveins and venous blockages.

Horsetail (Equisetum arvense) con-tains 8–14 % silicic acid. Horsetailstimulates the skin's metabolism andraises its elasticity.

Hydroviton is a moisture providerderived from amino-acids, urea, al-lantoin, sodium lactate and saccharicsubstances. In its combination itcorresponds to the natural moisturi-sing factor ( NMF) of the skin.

Jojoba oil protects the skin fromdryness and keeps it smooth andsupple.

Jojoba wax Jojoba oil is obtainedfrom the fruits of the evergreen jojobabush. The high melting jojoba wax(melting point 69 C) is then separatedfrom the oil, thus obtaining naturalmicro particles which allow a gentle,thorough and careful peeling ofthe skin surface. In addition poly-amide micro pearls have been incor-porated in order to optimise the ef-fect.

Konjac mannane obtained fromthe Asian Konjac root (Amorpho-phallus species), has superb film-forming properties, stabilising theskin’s moisture content, thus havinga bene-ficial effect on the appearanceand feel of the skin.

Lime blossom (Tilia cordata). Theextract from the flowers of the small-leaved lime promotes blood flow,cares for the skin and promotes theskin's own moisture retention capa-city.

Marigolds (Calendula officinalis) –>See Calendula Oil.

Mate (Ilex paraguariensis). This ever-green tree is cultivated in Paraguay,Brazil and Argentina. The extractfrom the dried leaves has a stimu-lating and vitalising effect. Mate teais traditionally used during slimmingprogrammes.

Medicinal plant concentrate is acombination extract of the oil drugs:juniper, sage, fennel, elder, melissa,creeping thyme, thyme, lime-t reeblossom, arnica and rosemary. Thiscombination results in the well-knownpotency improvement of this combi-nation of active agents.

Menthol The main component ofpeppermint oil. It stimulates the bloodcirculation, has a cooling effect andsoothes itching.

Micro-algae (Corallina officinalis),also known as the coral algae, actsas a superb infrared filter. It alsoprotects the skin from cell damagecaused by UV radiation and oxygenradicals, thus combating the skinaging process.

Nettles (Urtica dioica). Obtainedfrom the leaves, this extract containstannins and formic acid. It promotesbloodflow, and is therefore used inhaircare and bath products

Orange oil (Citrus aurantium dulcis)is obtained by cold-pressing the fruitpeels. It has a pleasantly refreshingand relaxing effect.

Panthenol (Vitamin B5) penetrateshair and skin easily, and has a par-ticularly beneficial effect on the mois-ture rention capacity of dry, stressedand chapped skin. Panthenol com-bats skin reddening and irritation,has an antiinflamma-tory effect andsoothes itching. When used in haircare products, it renders the haireasier to comb and shinier, and alsohas a “repair effect”.

Peppermint (Mentha piperita). Theetherial oil is obtained using a steamdistillation process, and has a re-freshing and antibacterial effect.

Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) isan evergreen shrub which can be foundall over the Mediterranean. The leavesare harvested before flowering. Theycontain 1 -2% ethereal oils and about8% tanning agents. It is employed inherbal cosmetics for its antiseptic, sti-mulating effects and its conducive-nessto circulation.

Rosewood (Aniba rosaeodora)-its ethereal oil has pleasantly soothingand relaxing properties.

Sabal serulata is an oily extractfrom the fruits of the saw palmetto(serenoa serulata) which is native tothe coast area of Florida. The extracthas an antiphlogistic and anti-oedematous effect.

Sage (Salvia officinalis). Among themost important anti-inflammatorymedicinal herbs. The leaves aregathered, containing around 2%etherial oil, tannins, bitters, resin,saponin and carbohydrates. Sagehas an anti-septic and astringenteffect, and is used to care for skinwhich is vulnerable to inflammation.

Sensiva is a glycerine compound,which effectively inhibits the bacteriathat cause unpleasant odours; it alsogives the skin a pleasant feel.

Silk of the sea. This extract of thealgae Enteromorpha compressa andHimanthalia elongata, indigenous toBrittany, is distinguished by highlevels of amino acids. Thanks to theunusual serin level, this active agentis a vegetable alternative to animalsilk. The silk of the sea has moistu-rising and – in particular – anti-irritantproperties, and also forms a film. Italso lends the skin a pleasantly vel-vety, silky feeling.

Softigen based on natural vegetableoils, has re-fatting properties.

UV-A-filters protects from the longerwave UV rays, which accelerate skinageing.

UV-B-filters protects from the shortwave UV rays, which cause sunburn.

Vitamin A is the epithelium pro-tection vitamin with a stimulatingeffect on the regeneration of cellsand collagen. It displays a regulatoryeffect in the keratinising process andimproves the skin's appearance andelasticity. Vitamin A is the beautyvitamin for demanding skin.

Vitamin C acts as a radical trap.These free and aggressive oxygenmolecules are particularly likely tobe formed when exposed to UVradiation, negative environmentalinfluences or stress.Vitamin C combats such adverseeffects by trapping these radicals.The skin is thus better protected,cell activity is stimulated and theregeneration of collagen fibres ispromoted.

Vitamin E offers active cell pro-tection. When used regularly it helpsimprove the skin's appearance: skinis rendered tangibly smoother. Vita-min E has been proven to increasethe skin's moisture content. Matureskin receives intensive care, develo-ping a protective reserve to meetthe challenges of the following day.

Vitamin F: This essential vitamin(linoleic acid) is one of the skin’sbasic building blocks, strengtheningthe barrier function and thus theresistance capacity of the skin. Thisvitamin also promotes an even com-plexion and suppresses irregularpigmentation.

Willow bark (Salix alba). The barkis peeled from finger-thick branchesin the spring; it is then crushed andused to prepare the extract. Theprimary ingredients are salicylic acidcom-pounds and tannins. Thesewillow bark extracts soften the skin.

Yarrow (Archillea millefolium). Theherb found in the flower is used.The extract has anti-inflammatoryand astringent properties, and alsopromotes blod flow.

Algae extracts, obtained from thebrown algae laminaria hyperborea,has moisturising, toning and protec-ting properties.

Allantoin encourages cell regene-ration in stressed skin, acceleratesthe healing process in the treatmentof wounds. It is obtained from wheatgerms, black salsify, horse chestnutsetc.

Aloe Vera-gel, isolated from theleaves of the aloe vera plant, mois-turises, smoothes the skin and iseffective against skin irritations.

Aluminium salts The active formsof aluminium salts are extremelyeffective antiperspirant agents, aswell as being particularly skin-friendly.

Avocadin is a concentrate of theactive agents of avocado oil. Phyto-sterines, chemically related to hor-mones, and vitamins render avoca-din so effective. It has moisturepreserving properties and is usedeffectively to fight hyperkeratosis,atrophy of the skin and other skindamages. Avocadin especially caresfor and protects dry skin.

Birch (Betula pendula). Obtainedfrom the leaves of this typicalNorthern European tree, this extractpromotes blood flow and cares forthe skin. Bisabolol is a colourless, faintly

aro-matic liquid, which is found up to50 % in the ethereal camomile oil. It iseffec-tive against inflammations, red-deningand irritations. Its bacterio-static effect as well as its ideal com-patibility with the skin deserve aspecial mention.

Calendula oil (Calendula officinalis)Marigold extract from the pale yellowto reddish-orange petalled flowers.The extracts help promote bloodflow and wound healing. They arealso antiinflammatory and stimulatetissue generation. In cosmetology,they are used to treat dry matureskin, and are used in products inten-ded to combat skin damage suchas sun protection products, babyoils, skin protection emulsions andhand care products.

Camomile (Chamomilla recutita).This extract from the flowers of thetrue camomile is used for its skin-soothing, anti-irritant effect.

Cocoa butter (Theobroma cacao)is obtained from fermented and roas-ted cocoa pods, cultivated primarilyin Africa and South America. Thecocoa tree's large melon-like fruit,which contain the cocoa pods, areborne directly on the trunk. Cocoabutter is particularly popular in cos-metic products because it makesskin feel pleasantly cared for.

Collagen is the most important com-ponent of the skin's connecting tis-sue and is responsible for its elasticityand capacity to bind water. We havepre-served the natural character th-rough gentle freeze-drying. This mi-cro-porous matrix is activated if sup-plied with moisture.

Farnesol is a natural component ofmany etherial oils, with a deodorisingand antibacterial effect.

Grape seed oil contains particularlyhigh levels of Vitamin F. This essentialvitamin is one of the basic buildingblocks of our skin. It strengthens thebarrier function and thus the skin’sresistance. In addition, this vitaminpromotes an even complexion whilesuppressing irregular pigmentation.

Green coffee The coffee beans ofthe red and yellow coffee cherry arefermented and dried, but not roasted.The coffee bean extract is rich incaffeine and other active substances;and reduce the volumes of the fatcells (adipocytes), which results in ageneral reduction in the volume offat in the body.

Guarana (Paullinia cupana) is bestknown for its stimulating and slim-ming properties. Guarana – whichalso includes coffein – has been usedto make stimulant drinks in SouthAmerica for centuries.

Hamamelis distillate from the twigsand leaves of the witch hazel (hama-melis virginiana) which is indigenousto North America. Its effect is mildlyastringent, skin-protecting andtoning.

Horse chestnut extract is usedbecause of its vitalising effect. Thechestnut extracts include approxi-mate levels of the following: 10 %of a saponin mixture (Aescin), flavo-noides and tannins. This complexof active agents promotes blood flowto the skin, strengthens the capillarywalls, inhibits oedema formation andhas a positive effect on varicoseveins and venous blockages.

Horsetail (Equisetum arvense) con-tains 8–14 % silicic acid. Horsetailstimulates the skin's metabolism andraises its elasticity.

Hydroviton is a moisture providerderived from amino-acids, urea, al-lantoin, sodium lactate and saccharicsubstances. In its combination itcorresponds to the natural moisturi-sing factor ( NMF) of the skin.

Jojoba oil protects the skin fromdryness and keeps it smooth andsupple.

Jojoba wax Jojoba oil is obtainedfrom the fruits of the evergreen jojobabush. The high melting jojoba wax(melting point 69 C) is then separatedfrom the oil, thus obtaining naturalmicro particles which allow a gentle,thorough and careful peeling ofthe skin surface. In addition poly-amide micro pearls have been incor-porated in order to optimise the ef-fect.

Konjac mannane obtained fromthe Asian Konjac root (Amorpho-phallus species), has superb film-forming properties, stabilising theskin’s moisture content, thus havinga bene-ficial effect on the appearanceand feel of the skin.

Lime blossom (Tilia cordata). Theextract from the flowers of the small-leaved lime promotes blood flow,cares for the skin and promotes theskin's own moisture retention capa-city.

Mate (Ilex paraguariensis). This ever-green tree is cultivated in Paraguay,Brazil and Argentina. The extractfrom the dried leaves has a stimu-lating and vitalising effect. Mate teais traditionally used during slimmingprogrammes.

Medicinal plant concentrate is acombination extract of the oil drugs:juniper, sage, fennel, elder, melissa,creeping thyme, thyme, lime-t reeblossom, arnica and rosemary. Thiscombination results in the well-knownpotency improvement of this combi-nation of active agents.

Menthol The main component ofpeppermint oil. It stimulates the bloodcirculation, has a cooling effect andsoothes itching.

Micro-algae (Corallina officinalis),also known as the coral algae, actsas a superb infrared filter. It alsoprotects the skin from cell damagecaused by UV radiation and oxygenradicals, thus combating the skinaging process.

Nettles (Urtica dioica). Obtainedfrom the leaves, this extract containstannins and formic acid. It promotesbloodflow, and is therefore used inhaircare and bath products

Orange oil (Citrus aurantium dulcis)is obtained by cold-pressing the fruitpeels. It has a pleasantly refreshingand relaxing effect.

Panthenol (Vitamin B5) penetrateshair and skin easily, and has a par-ticularly beneficial effect on the mois-ture rention capacity of dry, stressedand chapped skin. Panthenol com-bats skin reddening and irritation,has an antiinflamma-tory effect andsoothes itching. When used in haircare products, it renders the haireasier to comb and shinier, and alsohas a “repair effect”.

Peppermint (Mentha piperita). Theetherial oil is obtained using a steamdistillation process, and has a re-freshing and antibacterial effect.

Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) isan evergreen shrub which can be foundall over the Mediterranean. The leavesare harvested before flowering. Theycontain 1 -2% ethereal oils and about8% tanning agents. It is employed inherbal cosmetics for its antiseptic, sti-mulating effects and its conducive-nessto circulation.

Rosewood (Aniba rosaeodora)-its ethereal oil has pleasantly soothingand relaxing properties.

Sabal serulata is an oily extractfrom the fruits of the saw palmetto(serenoa serulata) which is native tothe coast area of Florida. The extracthas an antiphlogistic and anti-oedematous effect.

Sage (Salvia officinalis). Among themost important anti-inflammatorymedicinal herbs. The leaves aregathered, containing around 2%etherial oil, tannins, bitters, resin,saponin and carbohydrates. Sagehas an anti-septic and astringenteffect, and is used to care for skinwhich is vulnerable to inflammation.

Sensiva is a glycerine compound,which effectively inhibits the bacteriathat cause unpleasant odours; it alsogives the skin a pleasant feel.

Silk of the sea. This extract of thealgae Enteromorpha compressa andHimanthalia elongata, indigenous toBrittany, is distinguished by highlevels of amino acids. Thanks to theunusual serin level, this active agentis a vegetable alternative to animalsilk. The silk of the sea has moistu-rising and – in particular – anti-irritantproperties, and also forms a film. Italso lends the skin a pleasantly vel-vety, silky feeling.

Softigen based on natural vegetableoils, has re-fatting properties.

UV-A-filters protects from the longerwave UV rays, which accelerate skinageing.

UV-B-filters protects from the shortwave UV rays, which cause sunburn.

Vitamin A is the epithelium pro-tection vitamin with a stimulatingeffect on the regeneration of cellsand collagen. It displays a regulatoryeffect in the keratinising process andimproves the skin's appearance andelasticity. Vitamin A is the beautyvitamin for demanding skin.

Vitamin C acts as a radical trap.These free and aggressive oxygenmolecules are particularly likely tobe formed when exposed to UVradiation, negative environmentalinfluences or stress.Vitamin C combats such adverseeffects by trapping these radicals.The skin is thus better protected,cell activity is stimulated and theregeneration of collagen fibres ispromoted.

Vitamin E offers active cell pro-tection. When used regularly it helpsimprove the skin's appearance: skinis rendered tangibly smoother. Vita-min E has been proven to increasethe skin's moisture content. Matureskin receives intensive care, develo-ping a protective reserve to meetthe challenges of the following day.

Vitamin F: This essential vitamin(linoleic acid) is one of the skin’sbasic building blocks, strengtheningthe barrier function and thus theresistance capacity of the skin. Thisvitamin also promotes an even com-plexion and suppresses irregularpigmentation.

Willow bark (Salix alba). The barkis peeled from finger-thick branchesin the spring; it is then crushed andused to prepare the extract. Theprimary ingredients are salicylic acidcom-pounds and tannins. Thesewillow bark extracts soften the skin.

Yarrow (Archillea millefolium). Theherb found in the flower is used.The extract has anti-inflammatoryand astringent properties, and alsopromotes blod flow.
