Höpler is an Austrian, family owned, winery located south east of Vienna in Burgenland. Our 50ha of vineyards lie in the Leithaberg Hills between Jois and Purbach on the NW shores of Lake Neusiedl. This region is a secret tip among Austrian wine lovers. We are blessed with a range of different soils; limestone, chalk, sand and slate, and a microclimate influenced by the lake that enables us to produce an unusually broad selection of wines, all at a high quality. 50% of our production is white wine, 45% red and 5% dessert.
We produce traditional Austrian whites and reds such as Grüner Veltliner, Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch, and classic Burgundy varieties including Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay. Hoepler wines have a clear signature they are delicate, elegant and high in minera-lity which makes them excellent to drink on their own but extremely versatile when it comes to wine and food pairing. It is these qualities that give them a broad and loyal market.
We export 75 percent of our production to countries including USA, UK, The Netherlands, the Baltics and Scandinavia. The von Trapp Family Lodge (Sound of Music fame), Whole Foods Market, Gordon Ramsey, Jamie Oliver, The Queen Mary 2 and the Estonian Prime Minister are just a few of our more well-known clients.

Blaufränkisch is the second most planted red grape in Austria and our region Burgenland is particularly famous for this grape variety. It is a noble and exciting grape which can express the origins of where it is grown. We at Höpler have a big soft spot for this variety and in time it will deservedly earn a place in the spot light next to the famous Austrian Grüner Veltliner.
