Jeanet Hönig – die Künstlerin
Nach meinem Design- und Kunststudium in Paris und Tokio begann ich Techniken zur künstlerischen Gestaltung von Fußböden zu entwickeln. Seitdem realisiere ich großflächige Floor-Kunstwerke von oft mehreren hundert Quadratmetern rund um den Globus – zum Beispiel in Hotels, Büros oder Einkaufszentren. FloorART nennt sich die von mir entwickelte Technik der Bodengestaltung, bei der ich meine Kunst mit der Gießkanne auf den Boden male. Mein Arbeitsmaterial ist Polyurethan (kurz PU), ein Zwei-Komponenten-Gießharz.
CounterpART sind gedruckte und bearbeitete Ausschnitte aus realisierten FloorART-Projekten.

CounterpART
After studying design and art in Paris and Tokyo, I began putting my artistic talents to work by developing techniques for artistic floorings. Since then I have been implementing large-scale floor artworks which often stretch over several hundred square metres and can be found in hotels, offices and shopping centres around the world. FloorART is the term for the design technique which I have created and which I bring to life by painting floors with a watering-can. I work with polyurethane, or PU for short, which is a two-component casting resin.
CounterpART are prints of reworked extracts of FloorART projects.
Die Verbindung zwischen meiner Kunst am Boden und der Kunst auf Leinwand findet auch Ausdruck in einem neuen Projekt: CounterpART sind gedruckte und bearbei- tete Ausschnitte aus realisierten FloorART-Projekten. Die Teilstücke werden auf hochwertige Alu-Dibond-Platten gedruckt – ein eigenständiges Kunstwerk entsteht.
Neben der rein optischen Ästhetik entwickelt sich aus der Entstehungsgeschichte eines CounterpART ein tieferer Sinn – schließlich wird die Vorlage, das FloorART-Original, gerade jetzt in diesem Moment irgendwo auf der Welt von Menschen genutzt.
Jeder CounterpART wird auf diese Weise Teil eines weltumspannenden Gesamtkunstwerks. Deshalb ist auf jedem CounterpART-Bild der genaue Standort des Originals vermerkt.

The relationship between my art on the floor and on canvas is also being expressed via a new project, entitled CounterpART. These are prints of reworked extracts of FloorART projects. These are then printed onto high-quality aluminium dibond panels, thus becoming their own free-standing work of art.
As well as the purely optical aesthetics, the background story of a CounterpArt gives it a deeper sense of purpose when you consider that the FloorART original is being used by people at this very moment at some location in the world, making the new CounterpART work of art part of a whole.
The exact location of the original is included on every CounterpART image.
