WiTCOM celebrates 10 years of existence in Wiesbaden

Since 1997 WiTCOM has supplied the Hessian state capital of Wiesbadenand the Rheingau-Main-Taunus region with high-performance data services.The success of WiTCOM is based on the very well developed RegioNetz, theconsistent focus on Telcos and business clients, and a strong team. Now,the services of WiTCOM are relied on by national and international carriersand ISPs as well as well-known companies.

They benefit from the regional know-how of WiTCOM, the flexibility andreliability of the team, their personal service and transparent processes –whether for a data connection or for processing complex projects.

WiTCOM runs its own SDH, IP and MPLS networks. The use of state-of-the-art technology such as WDM allows band widths of up to 10 Gbit/s. Openingseveral POPs, including in , also puts the German telecommuni-cations capital of Frankfurt “on the RegioNetz”.

The service portfolio for Telcos ranges from local loop to the construction ofan independent POP location in the WiTCOM data centre and the realisationof individual projects such as backup and redundancy concepts. The lastmile to the client as well as HVt and PoI connections can be realised with noproblem, as WiTCOM has tapped into all HVT within its supply area. Here,the products available include permanent circuit connections and Ethernet /RZ couplings. Providing the carrier / ISP is not represented in Wiesbaden,the transfer is made at POP locations such as in .

The “tenth birthday” – a good reason for WiTCOM to thank clients and part-ners for their longstanding loyalty and good collaboration. Der „zehnte Geburtstag“ – für WiTCOM ein guter Grund, sich bei ihrenKunden und Partnern für die langjährige Treue und gute Zusammenarbeit zu bedanken. Das Unternehmen lud zu einem sommerlichen Abend in latein-amerikanischem Ambiente in das ESWE Atrium ein. Eine interessanteBeleuchtung und Stretchsegel unter der Decke sorgten für eine wohlige

Atmosphäre. Die Gäste konnten sich in Sitzecken unter Bäumen und anbeleuchteten Stehtischen niederlassen oder durch das Atrium flanieren. EineCocktailbar und ein köstliches Flying Buffet rundeten das Bild ab. Showeinlagen,wie Auftritte der Band „Cuba Unplugged“ und einer Sambatanzformation,sorgten für einen kurzweiligen Abend. Die zahlreichen Gäste aus Wirtschaftund regionaler Politik zeigten sich begeistert von der Veranstaltung.

Diese endete in den Morgenstunden des nächsten Tages – für WiTCOM einIndiz für einen gelungenen Start in zehn erfolgreiche nächste Jahre.

Im Rahmen eines zweiten Projekts mit dem Ziel, Telefonanschluss- und Breit-bandinternetservices bereitzustellen, wird Türk Telekom neue Technologienausbauen; die Systeme werden vielfältig eingesetzt, unter anderem für Voiceover Internet Protocol (VoIP), Digital Subscriber Line (DSL), Internet ProtocolTelevision (IPTV). Das Projekt wird voraussichtlich im November 2008 abge-schlossen sein.

ancotel soccer cupFrom 3 p.m. on Saturday 18 August, ancotel employees took kith and kinand met on the SG Nassau-Diedenbergen sports field for the ancotel foot-ball cup. In addition to a club house, round drinks bar and open cider bar, amarquee was also erected which was open on two sides and where seatingwas available with tables and benches. On the lawn, there were sunshades,a few benches and the red ancotel beach towels for the kids to play. A largenumber of children were present, all of whom had something to do: withancotel footballs, hot-air balloons that were arranged up to 18 in a row anddominated the sky, rose into the air individually or hung in the branches ofthe trees. There were Haribo sweets, fresh ice cream from the ice creamcart, super-fresh chocolate coverings, various cakes from large bakedproducts to biscuits and other small items. Es waren eine ganze Menge Kinder da, die alle ihreBeschäftigung hatten: mit ancotel Fußbällen, Luftballons, von denen bis zu18 Stück aneinandergereiht wurden und die den Himmel beherrschten, einzelnin die Luft stiegen oder an den Ästen der Bäume hängen blieben, oder mitHaribo-Naschwerk, frischer Eiscreme aus dem Eiswagen, superfrischenSchokoküssen, diversen Kuchen von großen Backblechen, Keksen undanderem Kleingebäck.

Nonetheless, we gained the impression that the accountants’ / solicitors’team had been a little devious. Three of their players had been bought: theywere neither solicitors nor accountants, nor did they work for either. Thesewere in fact active, young, strong footballers with a great deal of ball expe-rience; friends of daughters of the accountants’ / solicitors’ team. ManagingDirector Udo Müller handed over the large cup, which is better described asa challenge cup and proved that he was also a good looser.After the match, the players showered then enjoyed drinks and chat about the match – we all know how it works! Hunger then crept in amongst the players. The catering was prepared and small queues formed in the cider bar, where the hot and cold buffet had been set up.

In the marquee and at the drinks bar, the guests entertained each other with small talk whilst they were eating and particularly drinking! Corporate Culture Project Manager Christine Kloos-Martin was constantly on the move and organised a little here and a little there, handling many tasks herself – many thanks at this point for the organisation of this successful event.

Statt-dessen handelte es sich um aktive, junge, kräftige Fußballspieler mit sehrviel Ballerfahrung: Freunde von Töchtern der Steuerbüro/Rechtsanwalts-kanzlei-Mannschaft. Managing Director Udo Müller überreichte den großenPokal, den man besser als Wanderpokal bezeichnen kann, und zeigte sich alsguter Verlierer.Nach dem Spiel gings in die Duschen, danach zu den Getränken und zumFachsimpeln über das Spiel – das kennt man ja. Langsam kam dann bei denSpielern der Hunger auf. Das Catering war vorbereitet. Kleine Schlangen bil-deten sich im Bembeltempel, wo das kalt-warme Buffet aufgebaut worden war.

Im Zelt und an der Getränkebar hielten sich die Gäste am längsten auf – mitSmalltalk beim Essen und vor allem Trinken. Project Managerin CorporateCulture Christine Kloos-Martin war stets auf Achse und organisierte mal hier, mal dort, fasste viel selbst mit an – vielen Dank an dieser Stelle für dieOrganisation dieses gelungenen Events.

The event was organised by the Odessa NationalAcademy of Telecommunications and opened by the TCBS organisationcommittee, with the opportunity for an introduction to ancotel by MichaelBöhlert.As was already reported in the last goodnews, discussions are being held at the TCBS (Trans Caspian / Black Sea) conferences about the improvementof the traffic delivery to regions in Caucasus countries, central Asiancountries, Kazakhstan and China.The next day, plenary sessions and talks were offered for the participants.On the last day, further details of the alternative route from Asia to Europewere discussed at the TCBS meeting and further advances made in theprocess. Die Veranstaltung wurde von der Odessa National Academyof Telecommunications veranstaltet und durch das TCBS Organization Committeeeröffnet, bei dem sich ancotel durch Michael Böhlert vorstellen durfte.Wie Sie bereits in der letzten goodnews online erfahren konnten, wird beiden TCBS-(Trans-Caspian-/Black-Sea-)Konferenzen über die Verbesserung derTraffic-Delivery in Regionen in Kaukasusländern, zentralasiatischen Ländern,Kasachstan und China diskutiert.Tags darauf wurden Plenarsitzungen und Vorträge für die Teilnehmer geboten.Am letzten Tag wurden beim TCBS-Meeting weitere Details der Alternativ-strecke von Asien nach Europa diskutiert und weitere Fortschritte im Prozessgemacht. Frankfurter Sarah Pooch has been the Team Assistant in the Infrastructureteam since 1 July, supporting Senior Project Manager Andreas Schulz andhis team in the area of administration and organisation. The 20-year-old hassuccessfully completed her training as an office administrator and nowtakes up a full position at ancotel.Sarah lives in Dreieich with her boyfriend. The couple do a lot together intheir free time – climbing, canoeing, cooking or visiting open air events inthe summer and particularly events at which various DJs play electronicmusic. She is especially fond of her two iguanas, Eugen and Dicke.
