The NBA programme seeks to highlight outstanding entrepreneurial performance, sound business practices and the SME’s contribution to community development. This is the tenth (10th) year of the Awards programme, which has three (3) categories open to applicants. The Nation Builder Award will go to the most outstanding entrepreneurial performance by an established business, an NCB customer that has demonstrated a clear and significant contribution to community development. In addition to rewarding the efforts of established businesses, the programme features the Innovation Award and the Young Entrepreneur Award. The Innovation Award salutes a business which has used creativity, including but not limited to technology, to introduce a new product, tap into a new market and/ or gain competitive advantage. The Young Entrepreneur award recognizes a business that has been in operation for up to three (3) years with commendable business performance, strong community impact and whose principal is 35 years old or under. Three nominees will be chosen from each category with the highest ranked in each being named the winner. The Award programme also recognizes and supports the entrepreneurial spirit and aspirations of a final year management Studies or Entrepreneurial Studies student of the University of the West Indies Mona Campus. This student will be identified by the head of Department of the Management Studies as having prepared and submitted the best final year business plan/ project. This category is the NCB Vision Award. Businesses may apply in more than one category. The 2017 NCB Nation Builder Award will be opened for applications from September 4, 2017 to September 22, 2017. Application forms will be available from NCB’s website at www.jncb.com.

    Applicants for these awards must fulfil the following criteria:

    NCB Nation Builder Award:

    • Primary banking relationship for the business MUST be with NCB • Businesses operating for 3 years or more • Business must demonstrate strong community impact.

    NCB Young Entrepreneur Award:

    • The business must have been in operation for no more than 3 years • Businesses are not required to be NCB customers • Business must demonstrate strong community impact • Principal must be 35 years old or under

    NCB Innovation Award:

    • The business must have been in operation for a minimum of 12 months • Business must use creativity, which can include technology, to introduce a new product,

    entrer a market and/or gain competitive advantage • New NCB Business Customers are welcome to enter • Businesses must be customers of NCB
