Points of interest in the UPDATE project:

• examine the curricula of relevant subjects at primary schools (technology/crafts, social and science studies, textiles) and the relevant main subjects at futher school level (technology/crafts, textiles, physics)

• evaluate several national projects of Technology Education• discuss the present awareness of Technology Education and the real needs of Technical Education

• support the cooperation in all subjects with technological and technical contents in schools

• compare the Austrian concepts and experiences with international ones

• prepare the ground for developing Technological Literacy standards and for common Technology Education

• intensify the Technology Education in teacher trainings institutions for initial teacher training and further education

• set up a didactic network for Technology/Crafts and Technology Education

• develop the awareness of Technology Education throughout various institutions of education and the general public
