The University has conducted a review of the investigative records provided by the State’s Attorney’s

Office. The information indicates the fraternity did not engage in behaviors that violate Title IX or the

Code of Student Life. Per the student conduct process outlined in the Code of Student Life, this

incident is considered ‘closed.’ As such, there will be no additional follow-up by the University.

In an attempt to be transparent with the campus community regarding the alleged incident of August

30, the University released a statement on September 2. This statement was interpreted by some in

ways we did not intend and we regret that occurred. Upon review of the information, it is clear that

the fraternity members acted in good faith to ensure the safety of their members and guests the

night of the alleged incident.
