Wer es sich leisten kann, residiert weiter talwärts im milderen Klima. Taishan, 140 Kilometer westlich von Hong-kong am Delta des Perlfl usses gelegen, zählt zu den fortschrittlichsten Städten Chinas. Nahezu täglich wechselt die Stadt ihr Ange-sicht in Richtung der Moderne – und dabei wuchs auch ihre Größe von 0,7 km² im Jahr 1949 auf heute bereits 22 km². Taishan avan-cierte vor wenigen Jahren zur „Sauberen Stadt Chinas“. Dies ist auch das Ergebnis von konse-quenter Anwendung moderner Versorgungs-technologien wie z. B. in Wasserwerken oder bei der Stromerzeugung.
Für das neu gebaute Kraftwerk in Taishan lie-ferte ERHARD für alle fünf Blöcke mit je 600 MW Leistung 26 Absperrklappen DN2400. Alle Klappen sind im Kühlsystem eingesetzt und werden mit Meerwasser durchströmt. Daher wurden die Gussteile mit einer speziel-len keramischen Innenbeschichtung versehen – die Wellen sind aus hochwertigen Duplex-Edelstählen. Ein Teil der Klappen ist mit hyd-raulischem Fallgewichtsantrieb ausgerüstet – diese Klappen sind an der Druckseite der Meerwasserpumpen als kombinierte Absperr- und Rückschlagarmaturen eingesetzt.
Taishan City, located 140 kilometres west of Hong Kong in the Pearl River delta, ranks among the most progressive cities in China. Almost every day the city changes its appear-ance toward the modern world – and its size has increased from 0.7 km2 in 1949 to 22 km2 today. A few years ago, Taishan became the “Country’s Clean City”. This is the result of consequent use of modern supply technolo-gies such as in water plants or in power gen-eration, for example.
For the newly built power plant in Taishan, with fi ve blocks of 600 MW each, ERHARD supplied 26 butterfl y valves DN2400. All but-terfl y valves operate in the sea water cooling system. The castings have been coated with a special ceramic compound, while the shafts are made of high-grade Duplex stainless steel. Some of the butterfl y valves are fi tted with hy-draulic drop-weight actuators – they are used as combined isolating/non-return valves on the pressure side of the sea water pumps.

Flughafen München – mehrfach ausgezeich-net in Sachen Design, Atmosphäre und Funk-tionalität. In Spitzenzeiten werden 100.000 Passagiere pro Tag an den über 270 Check-In-Schaltern abgefertigt.
Sie alle benötigen Wasser. Und so verbraucht der „Betrieb“ Flughafen jedes Jahr über eine Million Kubikmeter Trinkwasser, was dem Ver-brauch einer Kleinstadt mit 15.000 Einwoh-nern entspricht. Auch die Löschwasserversor-gung der Flughafenfeuerwehr kann sich sehen lassen, es wurde ein eigenes Löschwassernetz mit drei unterirdischen Becken mit je 6.000 Kubikmeter errichtet. Die Pumpen liefern zusammen 60.000 Liter pro Minute bei 7 bar Druck.
An allen wichtigen Punkten der Wasserver-sorgung – Übergabestellen, Steuerschächte, Löschwasserbehälter – fi nden sich Produkte von ERHARD: Absperrklappen Typ Roco und EAK, Einklemmklappen ECL und ECLS, Hyd-ranten in Über- und Unterfl urausführung, Be- und Entlüftungsventile, WAGU Schieber.

All of them need water. Every year, the airport Operations, including fi re brigade, consume more than one million m³ of drinking water. This is equivalent to the consumption of a small town with a population of 15,000.The fi re-fi ghting water supply network, too, is something to be proud of, featuring three underground reservoirs with a capacity of 6,000 m3 each. The pumps deliver a total quantity of 60,000 litres per minute at 7 bar pressure.
At all strategically important points of wa-ter supply on the airport ground – such as hand-over points, control shafts, fi re-fi ghting water reservoirs – products by ERHARD can be found: butterfl y valves, wafer type butterfl y valves, post and underground fi re hydrants, air valves and WAGU penstocks.

Als im Jahr 1788 die ersten Siedler – Häftlinge und ihre Bewacher – hier an Land gingen, ahnte noch niemand, dass Port Jackson un-ter dem Namen Sydney einmal zu einer der schönsten Städte der Welt zählen würde.
Sydney, Hauptstadt des australischen Bundes-staates New South Wales und Austragungsort der Olympischen Spiele 2000, ist eine Stadt voll pulsierendem Leben. Der Wasserbedarf seiner knapp 4 Millionen Einwohner wird zu 80 % aus dem Wasserreservoir des Warra-gamba-Damms gedeckt. Der Warragamba-Damm ist der größte in Australien und einer der größten der Welt, der als urbanes Wasser-reservoir genutzt wird. Dieses Reservoir bildet einen 80 km langen See mit einer Fläche von 7.500 Hektar und einem Volumen von 2.000 Mio. m³ Wasser.
Im Schieberhaus des Damms befi nden sich vier Grundablassleitungen DN2100. Je Leitung sind zwei ERHARD-Absperrklappen DN2100, eine mit elektrischem Antrieb, die andere mit hydraulischem Fallgewichtsantrieb, installiert. Die hydraulisch betriebene Klappe ist für einen Notschluss gegen eine max. Durchfl ussge-schwindigkeit von 30 m/s ausgelegt, ihr Gesamtgewicht beträgt 18 Tonnen.

Sydney, capital of the Australian federal state New South Wales and host of the Olympic Games 2000, is a city throbbing with life.The water demand of its nearly four million inhabitants is 80 % covered by the water reservoir of Warragamba dam. Warragamba is the biggest concrete dam in Australia and one of the world’s biggest used as an urban water reservoir. This reservoir consists of a lake which is 80 km long with an area of 7,500 hectares and a volume of 2,000 million m³ of water.
In the dam’s gate house, there are four bot-tom outlet pipes DN2100, equipped with two ERHARD butterfl y valves DN2100 each, of which one has an electric actuator and the other a hydraulic drop-weight actuator. The hydraulically driven butterfl y valve is designed for emergency shuts with a maximum fl ow velocity of 30 m/s. Total weight of the hydrau-lically driven butterfl y valve is 18 tons.

Chiles Hauptstadt Santiago wurde am 12. Feb ruar 1541 gegründet. Die Stadt fasziniert durch eine Verbindung aus Moderne und 500 Jahre Geschichte und der einmaligen Lage am Fluss Mapocho zu Füßen der Gipfel der Anden.
Santiagos 5,5 Millionen Einwohner stellen ein Drittel der Gesamtbevölkerung Chiles. Eine zuverlässige und schnelle Verfügbarkeit von Trinkwasser ist für diesen Ballungsraum daher enorm wichtig. Das Ende der 90er-Jahre er-baute Wasserwerk La Florida benötigt nur eine Stunde für ein komplettes Aufbereitungsver-fahren: von der mechanischen Grobfi ltrierung über Sandabscheidung, Vor-Absetzung, Filtra-tion, Entkeimung bis hin zur Fluorierung.
Alle Armaturen im Bereich des Wasserstroms (Rohwasser, Spülwasser, Reinwasser) sowie an den Ein- und Ausläufen des Wasserwerks und auch die Spülluft-Klappen wurden von ERHARD geliefert. Hierbei handelte es sich ins-besondere um ERHARD-Absperrklappen und WAGU-Schieber.
Chile’s capital Santiago was founded on Feb-ruary 12, 1541. The city fascinates with its mix of modern times, 500 year of history and the unique setting of the Mapocho river sur-rounded by the Andes mountain tops.
Santiago’s 5.5 million inhabitants make up one third of Chile’s total population. Adequate and quick availability of drinking water is of essential importance for this metropolitan area. The waterworks La Florida, built at the end of the 1990s, need only one hour for a complete treatment process. It begins with mechanical coarse fi ltering and proceeds with sand separation, pre-setting, fi ltration, sterili-sation up to fl uorination.
All valves in the fi eld of the water fl ow (raw water, fl ushing water, clean water), inlets and outlets of the waterworks and also the but-terfl y valves for fl ushing air were supplied by ERHARD. These were especially ERHARD but-terfl y valves and WAGU penstocks.

Erfurt blickt heute auf über 1.260 Jahre be-wegte Geschichte zurück. Viele Unverwech-selbarkeiten kennzeichnen die größte thürin-gische Stadt mit ihrem Wahrzeichen Dom und Severikirche.
Der mittelalterliche Stadtkern Erfurts, fl ächen-mäßig der größte Deutschlands, ist fast voll-ständig erhalten. Das Augustinerkloster, in dem Martin Luther fünf Jahre als Bettelmönch lebte, die Predigerkirche, heute evangelische Hauptkirche und nach dem Dom die zweit-größte Kirche Erfurts, sowie die Festungs-anlagen auf der Zitadelle Petersberg, eine der ältesten Stadtfestungen, sind eindrucksvolle Beispiele mittelalterlicher bzw. frühneuzeit-licher Baukunst.
Damit diese Kulturgüter noch lange erhalten bleiben, sind präventive Maßnahmen wie z. B. zur Löschwasserversorgung wichtig und notwendig. Erfurt setzte dabei auf Über- und Unterfl ur hydranten von ERHARD.
Today, Erfurt looks back on a history of more than 1,260 years. This largest Thuringian town is characterized by a lot of distinctive features, including landmarks like the cathedral and the Severi church.
Erfurt’s medieval town centre, one of Germa-ny’s largest in terms of surface area, is almost completely preserved. Impressive examples of medieval or early modern architecture are the Augustinian Monastery, in which Martin Luther lived fi ve years as a mendicant, the Prediger Church (today the main Protestant church which after the cathedral is Erfurt’s second-largest church), as well as the fortifi ca-tions on the Petersberg Citadel, one of the town’s oldest fortresses.
In order to be able to maintain these cultural assets for a long time, protective measures like fi re-fi ghting water supply are important and necessary. A large number of underground and post fi re hydrants were supplied by ER-HARD.
